bestitalianin edmonton. my husband and i are regulars here, we keep coming back because we are always happy with the food and service. the food is fresh and delicious - especially the spaghetti carbonara (my favourite!!!) but everything is always great appetizers, pizza, pasta, entrees, desert. very friendly and welcoming ambiance and staff. we will continue to be regulars for many years to come :) thanks ragazzi!

averageitalianfood but atrocious service. we waited 45 minutes for a table after being told we would be next. several favourite clear regulars were seated ahead of us. once seated, we waited 25 minutes to be even acknowleged by the waitress. it was explained thatbshe didn't realize we were in her section. simple orders took over an hour to arrive and then came staggered so we all (4) ate at different times. the wait was so long that a kind gentleman took pity on our children and gave them each a piece of his pizza while we waited. the wait staff all stood around drinking grappa and having a great time while the customers all stewed in silence. i have no idea how this place stays in business, treating customers so poorly and i would never go back! avoid this place unless you have at least three hours to waist on average food.

the coliseum at night.... ...one of my favourite memories in italy was eating the best pizza i had ever eaten while i sat on a bridge with a bottle of wine and took in the beautiful sight of the coliseum lit up at night. although you can't walk the streets of edmonton with a bottle of wine and the scenery may be a touch less inspiring, you can have the best realitalianthin crust pizza you've ever tried in your life. ragazzi is the place for it. who knew we had this little gem here in our backyard? all the pizza is good but i highly recommend the godfather. their insalata mista is also refreshingly satisfying and their pull apart bread is simply delicious. dare to be drawn in.

my wife and i went for dinner we shared a pizza and penne arrabiata.
the food was excellent, tasty and hot. the service was excellent, friendly and fast.
for dessert we ordered a lemon gelato and a tiramisu which was heavenly.
i recommend this restaurant to anyone that would like to experience anitalianmeal.
the price was very reasonable for what we ordered.

good pizza in edmonton sure is a hard thing to find. the only place that pops into my mind is tony’s pizza palace (sorry not sorry famosa, lovepizza, insert any other crappy chain restaurant). well, myitalianbud l was craving pizza so he suggested we try out ragazzi bistro italiano‎. originally beginning as pizza boys, they changed their name to theitalianequivalent of boys and the rest is history. family run and off the beaten track, it sounded like we would be in good hands for our wednesday evening dinner.

went expecting greatitalianfood but left having only experienced mediocre pizza at a rather expensive price. however, the saving grace was the soprano bread, brilliantly spiced with a fluffy pull-apart texture. 5 stars to the soprano bread but 2.5 stars to the food.

second review
came back for a second visit. things have changed and not for the better. service is slow, glasses are dirty on on the table and the second set of glasses arrive dirty as well. waitress seems confused and frustrated throughout our stay ( restaurant was not busy) pizza took over 50 minutes to come out of the kitchen and was disappointing in flavor. disappointing meal and service . we will not be back.
first review : great service, with homemadeitalianflavor dishes at affordable prices. for 14 years they have made great pasta and pizza in a quiet strip mall location. we had soprano bread, lazanga, and ravioli all outstanding and a bottle of wine. great evening. we will be back.

weren't even served lunch. we arrived on a wednesday at 12:10pm for lunch, just two of us. ordered water and paninis with salads. at 12:45pm we were told our lunch was going to be up in 2 minutes. at 12:58pm, we finally had to ask for it to be wrapped to go because we had no more time to waste for lunch. they packaged our lunches separately based on the two different paninis that we ordered but still managed to mess up the order. i get back to my office to eat my long-awaited lunch, and instead of theitalianpanini i ordered, i chew down on tough-as-leather chicken. i have been to ragazzi for dinner and it was great but i will never be back for lunch again. hire more people to work on the floor and in the kitchen. we didn't get a refill on our drinks until 20 minutes after our glasses were empty. unreal.

-----28 jul, 2011-----

ordered two pasta dishes and the bruscetta for take out and picked up the order as it was coming out of the kitchen. bruscetta was alright but the tomatoes were under ripe and the entire thing had a bit too much oil. the pasta dishes were just alright. i'm still looking forward to trying the pizza.

great food, poor service!. i was at ragazzi bistro this past weekend and found the food to be nothing short of amazing. the two appetizers we ordered were delicious and the godfathers choice, (which was recommended by a friend), exceeded all expectations. my husband and i also shared a pasta dish which was to die for. i was expecting a let down in this area, seeing as they are known for their pizza but to my surprise the pasta was wonderful. actually it was better then i`ve tasted at most other places in edmonton. i would definately reccommend the food at this resturaunt to anyone in search of deliciousitaliancuisine. the only downside to this resturaunt was the service. i found it terribly slow, it took 15 minutes just to get our drinks. also, the girl who served us was unwelcoming. i felt like we were imposing on her just by being there. hopefully it was a bad night for them because i would love to come back for ragazzi's amazing food again!

interesting. i had heard about this place from the next door neighbor saying that the pizza was really good. i convinced a buddy to check it out. we decided to go on a sat at around 5.30. the decore is very lovely and up to date. our server seated us and handed us menus and then continued to disappear for 10-12 min. the place was pretty empty so i know she wasn't serving customers. finally, she returned and we ordered theitaliansausage appy and lasagna. the appy came in a tomato thick sause with green .

it was also served with some bread and traditional dipping sauce. if your not into the olive oil, red wine dipping it is a bit of a change for your taste buds but a staple for any traditional eater. the bread chunks looked like they were just thrown on the stove to have some burnt scortch. no butter, no garlic bread just the scortch bread chunks. ??? the waiteress then proceeds to hand us bread in a basket with butter. i think this was supposed to be given to us at the start of the dinner and she forgot. i sense a re ocurring pattern going on here. anyways, the main comes in a plate with decent portions. i take a few spoonfuls and it is is good. one slight concern is tasting a bit too much salt. i am hoping for a bit more of savory flavors that should be there but are gone from making this meal an average to spectacular. i can't say that the kitchen was swamped as an excuse because it wasn't. i didn't even finish the meal. at the end of the day the waitress needs some coaching to what needs to be demonstrated in a great dining establishment. she was barely going through the motions and her lack of detail to attention when the place was dead screams immediate intervention. decore 9 out of 10. location 6 out of 10. food quality , taste , and presentation 7 out of 10. as i have stated before it is is really hard to get good itialian cuisine in edmonton. guess the quest continues.

one of a kind!. if you're sitting around wondering where to go for dinner tonight, the answer is . . .
ragazzi bistro.
what a hidden gem!!!
you would never think one would find such delectable cuisine with such a warm inviting atmosphere in such an odd location. the restaurant is located in this tiny strip mall near bonnie doon mall, where no one would ever think of looking for treasure. but i assure you, if you venture there, a treasure is what you will find!

i have sampled pizza all around this city, but have never had anything remotely comparable to ragazzi's creations! the crust is light, crisp and tasty, covered with a savory sauce, then layered with any toppings your heart desires. the tantalizing aroma of the pizza permeates the air as soon as you step into thisitalianwonderland. i promise you, your mouth will start watering before you are even seated.

they have a great selection of apps to choose from. my personal favorites - their yummy inslata mista (who knew a simple green salad could be so addictive!), their delicious boccocini coperti, and their appetizing calamari. then you get to choose from what seems like thousands of their signature pizzas or create your very own masterpiece. i suggest the godfather's pizza. what a piece of art that is!!! and then of course, who in their right mind would turn down an order of their mother's homemade tiramisu. i swear this recipe was sent to her from the heavens above!!! i would be completely content eating this heavenly dessert everyday, every meal for the rest of my life!

the young men that own and run this place are sweethearts. they make everyone who enters their establishment feel like part of their family, and that is why i plan on going back again and again and again. this was my first, but definitely not my last excursion to ragazzi bistro. next time i will try a new app and sample one of their pastas.
i absolutely urge you to experience ragazzi bistro for yourselves!!!!!

a must try, a for sure will love!. best restaurant ever. the food is amazing, it is authentically italian, their ravioli is amazing, the tomato sauce is fresh and simply amazing, their pizza is typicalitalianpizza, and please don't go without trying their spinach salad.
they have all of theitalianclassics such as tiramisu which is to die for.
i do believe everything is made there, and not shipped in.
for this little restaurant, the wait is not long at all, the servers are extremely efficient and the what i believe are owners really are italian. they are very kind and i had a wonderful conversation with them.
eating at this restaurant i feel like i am at a bistro in italy because of how authentic the food is.
defiantly my favourite restaurant.
this restaurant is consistent in the quality of the food and the friendliness of the staff. i have been many times and every time i am pleasantly surprised. also if you are feeling curious and brave, the staff are knowledged and know what the are talking about. they also seem to really have a team atmosphere where everybody gets along, almost like a family.
a must try, but warning, you will never want to go any other restaurant ever again!
best and cheapest way to get a taste of little italy.
