delicious. first visit. stopped on the way home to get something to take out. ordered potatoes stuffed with chicken, lime marinated onions and aji sauce. the only thing wrong with the food was that it was gone in minutes! loved the food, wonderfulsauceand the onions were a real treat. look forward to going back for more!

great restaurant!family ran and owned. i get the #4 cause it has everything i love with a stuffed potato on the side. if i catch on a day when they are running there special.....lomo- i'll get that. not chicken like the rest of the menu. beef on rice with sauce! the green dippingsauceis the best!!

amazing food!!!. you must try this place if you are a food eater! tasted it at a small function at my school, then went myself to try for real with my husband. everything we had made our taste buds sing! the chicken is marinated and grilled to perfection, the potatoes are crispy and delightful, and the ajisauceis incredible!!! the owner suggested i try the stuffed potatoes as well, and he was right - they are so good - like a peruvian version of chicken pot pie. even the pickled onions that go with them are the perfect accompaniment. no matter where you live in abq - make the trip here. you will be very happy you did! plan to be back often!

wonderful chicken. the grilled chicken thighs are so flavorful and the green dippingsaucegoes great with them. the owners are delightful. the place is very spartan ..... but adds to the character. served with fried potatoes which were very tasty and nicely seasoned. never been to peru, so can't vouch for authenticity, but it seems like the real deal.

amazing chicken. the papas were average, but the greensauceto dip them in made them exceptional.

this place has the best chicken i've ever had! it's very fresh and even the breasts are juicy. it's cooked to perfection on the grill so it's not greasy at all and the skin is crisp. the ajisaucewas amazing, i had heard that it was good from a peruvian friend but it was better than i imagined. the owners were also friendly, i really liked this place!

peruvian treat. i have had the pleasure of enjoying at least 5 times the outstanding grilled peruvian chicken, fries and exquisite creamy jalapeno dippingsaucefrom this restaurant. they offer both grilled and rotisserie chicken, and on occassion mesquitte smoked chicken. the 18 hour marinated chicken provides a unique flavor that produces juicy, succulent pieces of chicken.

i highly recommend that you treat your self and friends to a rewarding dinning experience from pollito con papas.

best place to eat in albuquerque. i'm in love with this restaurant!! a different taste of food for new mexico. great food and service! i can eat the ajisauceon everything...

amazing!. a coworker led us to this amazing restaurant. the stuffed potatoes are a work of art, in my opinion. perfectly fried, golden brown, light with a slight crispy outside. the chickens' great as well, and the ajisauceis very tasty. the owners are wonderful people too. i'm so happy i went.

amazing. we came to this place on the suggestion of my sister, who'd been told of the restaurant by several of her coworkers. driving up, the building isn't much to look at-which can only mean that the food is ridiculously good, in my opinion.
the owner came to our table and suggested that we allow him to just 'bring things out'-a seriously good suggestion:
1-fried yucca with ajisauce(better than fries, i think)
2-chimichanga stuffed with highly seasoned chicken...and more aji on the side
3-potato croquettes, coated with yucca flour and stuffed with...i guess it's a peruvian chicken picadillo, served with pickled onions on the side
4-chicken platter: one whole marinated chicken, with the most amazing skin i have ever experienced, and several pieces of boneless chicken thighs, served over handcut fries. more aji accompanied this, as well as a hotter version (rocoto)
i washed all of this down with an inca gold soda...looks like mountain dew, tastes like bubble gum
the service was very fast and pleasant, the owner very informative (aside from the fact that he wouldn't divulge the recipe for the aji sauce), and the whole experience very comfortable
i can see this becoming a weekly thing for this household

i really like the food. i agree that chimichangas are definitely not peruvian, but everything thing else is. love the taste of the food, the chicken and the hotsauceare amazing, would recommend it :)

excellent in every way!!!. the food was excellent. he was out of whole chickens, or at least we'd have to wait almost an hour for fresh ones, so he gave us the half chimichanga with thighs and fries!! omg sooooo good!!! chimi was stuffed and the crust so flaky and tender.that ajisauceis to die for too. i even doused my fries in it!!! not enough? we then got the flan for dessert and got samples of the melt in your mouth alfajores. yuuumy!!
the owners are warm, friendly and so welcoming. since i'm part peruvian, got to spend some quality time with the owner having a great conversation. my husband meantime, played one of the peruvian games with her hubby. he loved it!! so going back. new location is great too. very big inside, lots of room and very clean too!! loved the peruvian accents everywhere.worth the drive down to the base area from rr.

lunch was awesome, quick. the greensauceis to die for the potato dumplings are awesome as is the chicken.

delicious, succulent chicken. the best anywhere. and the aji... i had to take some home. that is a wonderfulsaucewith just the right amount of heat. great on the chicken and the fries. i definitely recommend you go. you won't regret it. next time i'll try a chimichanga and i'd love to go for take out and add a salad at home.

pollito con papas is quite inexpensive - two whole chickens, fries, and that awesomesaucewill only set you back 20 bucks. that said, remember to bring cash, because they don't take credit. and don't go on wednesday. but do go. even if the a/c is on the fritz, the charming owners and delicious food will make you glad you stopped by.
