good pizza. i'm no expert on chicago deep dish, so i can't say if this place offers authentic chicago pies or whether the crust has the right thickness or whatever. i can, however, say that i enjoyed the pizza we got at pi. the crust was crisp and light, sauce was heavy, ingredients tasted fresh. all in all, a good pizza.
the place is split down the middle with a bar area on one side. atmosphere is nice, trendy, though i didn't find it pretentious. it was nearly full on this thursday night, but we didn't have towaitfor a table.
service was fine. prices are a little more than at most pizza places.

worth the wait. with so many choices in st. louis i'm not prone towaitto try the latest hyped place. but last night a friend and i decided to do just that.

we were told a half hourwaitwhich was more like an hour. we reviewed the menu while waiting so we'd be ready to order once seated. we wanted to sit outside but the first open table was inside, nice but loud. smoke-free!

we were both pretty hungry at this point so we each ordered a salad. i had the bada bing. nice mix of flavors, each not lost among the others.

for the pizza we went with a large deep dish berkeley which includes sliced zucchini, mushrooms, peppers, olives, & onion. the sauce was a chunky sweet tomato sauce. the crust was not like most deep dish (chewy bread). it was crunchy and frankly near perfection.

once we ordered our salads came quickly and the pizza not long after we had finished the salads. so thewaittime was up front to get seated.

a wonderful experience that i plan to repeat as often as possible!

similar to picky i had towaitan hour for a table, but i expected it considering it's high praise from obama who flew the chef back to chicago to cook him dinner. i think it was well worth the wait. this was the best chicago deep dish (in or out of chitown) i ever have eaten. 4 stars

not worth the wait. i could notwaitto try this pizza. i never did and walked out after 30 minutes with no service.
went to the kirkwood location and seated right away. many open tables and did not look too busy.
got my water and checked the menu. ok..martini - 9 bucks...salad - 6 bucks 12 inch pie about 20 bucks with a few toppings then a milkshake - 7 bucks. ready for my 42 dollar pizza meal.
ordered martini and waited, waited and waited. gave up and walked out.
there are many other places in st. louis serving great pizza. you should pass on this place.

try the kirkwood. try the kirkwood pizza, with the fresh meatballs and sweet red peppers. among the best i've ever had. service is always fast, friendly, and although there is sometimes awaitfor dinner, it usually moves pretty fast. a great addition to the local pizza options.

yum. i love pi pizza. i keeping thinking about the delicious cornmeal crust (you can taste the cornmeal but it's not overwhelming) and sweet tomato topping. it's just so tasty. i can'twaitto go back. ::drools::

i don't know what people are complaining about. go for the deep dish. that's their thing. maybe it's cool to dog on something that was lauded for a while, but i really enjoy it.

downside is the wait, which can be expected for the deep dish (iwaitforever for deep dish in chicago too) but they're often so busy, it may take a while to get a table.

but they're always busy because their deep dish is tasty. duh.

just try it. (and if you don't eat your left overs, i will)

yum!. north beach deep dish, flavorful and delicious. meatball appetizers and pi bites, wonderful.

had towaitfor service throughout the meal and don't know why, the place had plenty of servers and hardly any customers. server was knowledgable and friendly, so when we saw them, it was fine.

don't know what the beef is with food being 'spicy' unless it's just that there is just so much bland pizza in this area. and on the spicy spectrum, it just qualifies to be on it, it's not inordinately hot by any stretch of the imagination. matter of fact, i wouldn't be back if they changed it. too few places to go in this region that actually have a lttle heat that isn't pointless cayenne.

would go back and wish that they had a location in west county.

great pizza, and they handled our party of 7 quickly and with friendly service. we were told it would be a 40 minutewaitand were pleasantly surprised to be seated in half the time. we ordered different thin and thick crust pizzas and they all were great. love the taste and texture of the thin crust. fresh tasty salads too!

trendy & good eats. phenomenal pizza, with interesting combo of ingredients which is not your typical provel stl pizza. they are fast because they want a high turnover of tables, so not exactly relaxing. also, not family friendly it is more of a trendy pizza place for a group of friends or a fun date environment.

do not come starving, because you will most likelywaitand have a drink or two. this is fine if you are in good company!

a longwaitfor not so great pizza. thewaitto get into pi, even on a weeknight, is at least 45 minutes. it's not worth it. i've heard so many things about how wonderful the pizza is, but everyone in our 9-person party was unhappy with our meal. the crust was dry, the cheese was virtually nonexistent, and the sauce was flavorless. i've only been once, so i don't know if we just went on a bad night, but the prices were too high and the pizza was too disappointing to give pi a second chance.

worth the wait!. we stayed at the moonrise hotel on delmar. we wanted to eat somewhere close. pi was just across the street. it was a very busy saturday night. we waited about 30 mins and it was worth it!

anna w. was our server...super sweet and gave great suggestions. they will let you do half pizzas. we did a thin crust, half the hill and lincoln park. lincoln park was better then the hill.

the atmosphere was great, great selection of wines and beers. the have one dessert...apple pie! it was wonderful with the cinnamon ice cream!

we can'twaitto go back!!

simply the best, as evidenced by the longwaittimes. the key to thier delicious deepdish is the cornmeal based crust. i've lived in chicago, and this pizza is even better. fresh toppings compliment the great crust. you must visit pi.
