pi pizzeria

boo!. what a joke. this a posture place. you go here because everyone tells you to, because everyone told them to, even though it's not very good. at all. the first time i ate here it was pretty good. the service has always been sub-par at best, but at least the pizza came out hot and well made. that was when they first opened on delmar. now it's always sloppy, and either uncooked or burned. it's never right. ever since this place blew up with the obama attention and their expansion, thefoodand service have gone to hell. the servers and hostesses are completely incompetent, and the managers don't seem to help the situation. it's like it's always everyone's first day. boo to pi, and their owner, who obviously thinks being popular is enough to carry a restaurant. thefoodand service here are definitely going backwards, instead of getting better. used to kind of like, now i really don't.

thefoodis good but the overt police hatred by its owner is thick and palpable. pi was at one point my favorite pizza joint on the us but i sincerely hope it closes its doors forever

i dont know why anyone would eat here. first of all thefoodis over rated and mostly tastes like cardboard. secondly the staff is smug and unresponsive. there are many better options all over stl.

thefoodis very good, lots of unique choices, but a bit pricey, especially for pizza

i was disappointed by the food. the decor was cute and welcoming and our waiter was very friendly. we had the bucktown and it wasn't anything amazing. the layer of tomato sauce was very strong and overpowered the flavor of the other ingredients, so it tasted like chugging a can of tomato paste. i asked our waiter if their wings were spicy and he said no, but when we got them they had hot pepper on them. the staff are nice, but thefooddidn't live up to the hype.

good thin crust, but still too loud. this was my 3rd visit to pi and this time we tried the thin crust "maplewood" pizza and it was very good. the service was fine also. but we were still annoyed by the incredible din generated in the dining room when the place gets full. bring your advil because you're bound to have a headache before you leave!

fine dining?. i think this place is listed under "fine dining" here only because of the prices. this is a loud pizza joint, not fine dining by any definition of the word. my 2 cents :)

trendy but way too loud. have eaten here twice. the deep dish style pizza is ok, but not like the original in chicago. also, the dining area/decor is made up entirely of hard surfaces that reflect sound. with a room full of people it was so loud we could not even hear each other in conversation at our table. before thefoodarrived i had such a headache i just wanted to leave. the second time i insisted on eating out on the sidewalk, but still wasn't that impressed with the pizza.

very good crust. the pizza and salad were delicious. my only complaint is their small beer selection. the crust is very different than the crust used at fastfoodrestaurants. it is more crusty and less doughy. it reminds me of italian pizza crust.

yum!. north beach deep dish, flavorful and delicious. meatball appetizers and pi bites, wonderful.

had to wait for service throughout the meal and don't know why, the place had plenty of servers and hardly any customers. server was knowledgable and friendly, so when we saw them, it was fine.

don't know what the beef is withfoodbeing 'spicy' unless it's just that there is just so much bland pizza in this area. and on the spicy spectrum, it just qualifies to be on it, it's not inordinately hot by any stretch of the imagination. matter of fact, i wouldn't be back if they changed it. too few places to go in this region that actually have a lttle heat that isn't pointless cayenne.

would go back and wish that they had a location in west county.

try it!. greatfoodaffordable price. good ambient and decent crowds.

over glorified and under served. i used to eat at pi alot, but the service has deteriorated so badly, i just can't bring myself to step foot in there any more.

thefoodis about average, but hits a pleasure center.

the service is atrocious. atrocious. atrocious. did i mention the service was really bad. the whole obama thing has gone to their heads. give it a rest guys, its still just pizza.

not an obama fan!. despite the commander in chief's recommendation, this is one of the best pizza places in st. louis.

deep dish is worth waiting for. great place to take out of town guests to. crowded, but always have quick service.

if you are headed to the pageant for a show, order a pizza and bring it right in. pageant doesn't servefoodand they allow you to bring outsidefoodin.

pay top dollar, get good pizza. i enjoyed myfoodquite a bit but as others have said, there's definitely some negative elements to eating at pi. you're going to be paying ridiculous prices. let's make that clear first. if it's a weekend, you're going to be waiting a while. is the pizza good? i think so. the crust is thick and somewhat crunchy, and there were lots of fresh tomato sauce on mine. tasty, but it's not somewhere i'd visit unless i was craving that particular pizza or had a coupon.

pi...the missing ingridient. after visiting pi many times in university city,they are slowly losing their competitive edge. the service is sloppy,management no where to be found and thefoodhas gone from wow! to no thanks. while having two additional locations one in kirkwood and the other in the cwe...mr.sommers i ask you to think before you open that fourth location.sometimes it is best to just have one of something and to make it an institution.

yummy pizza, ok service. the pizza at this place was amazing, however the service wasn't as good. it took an hour to get seated and another hour before we had our food. i would definately go back because thefoodwas that great, but don't go if time is an issue for you.
