very little substance. i am a huge fan of pizza and had pi on my list for places to try. i will admit i'm a thin crust fan (this is st louis, right?) so that's what i ordered.

i had heard stories about all the research and about the owners finally finding/buying the perfect crust. i can't imagine why anyone would think that cornmeal is a good thing.

the ingredients were fresh though sparse. they sure weren't enough to save the pie.

i'll chalk this one up to experience but can't believe that this product commands a hugely premium price. pi is not even in my top 20 for local pizza.

not worth the wait. i could not wait to try this pizza. i never did and walked out after 30 minutes with no service.
went to the kirkwood location and seated right away. many open tables and did not look too busy.
got my water and checked the menu. ok..martini - 9 bucks...salad - 6 bucks 12 inch pie about 20 bucks with a few toppings then a milkshake - 7 bucks. ready for my 42 dollar pizza meal.
ordered martini and waited, waited and waited. gave up and walked out.
there are many other places in st. louis serving great pizza. you should pass on this place.

excellent deep dish pizza, even if the garlic is a little overkill.

not impressed, if you like a pizza that tastes only like garlic you might like the deep dish. the garlic flavor is overwhelming, that is all you taste.

it wasn't a good first experience for me at pi. but thanks to my blog, owner chris sommers found out about it and bent over backward to make things right.

try the kirkwood. try the kirkwood pizza, with the fresh meatballs and sweet red peppers. among the best i've ever had. service is always fast, friendly, and although there is sometimes a wait for dinner, it usually moves pretty fast. a great addition to the local pizza options.

yum. i love pi pizza. i keeping thinking about the delicious cornmeal crust (you can taste the cornmeal but it's not overwhelming) and sweet tomato topping. it's just so tasty. i can't wait to go back. ::drools::

i don't know what people are complaining about. go for the deep dish. that's their thing. maybe it's cool to dog on something that was lauded for a while, but i really enjoy it.

downside is the wait, which can be expected for the deep dish (i wait forever for deep dish in chicago too) but they're often so busy, it may take a while to get a table.

but they're always busy because their deep dish is tasty. duh.

just try it. (and if you don't eat your left overs, i will)

good, not great.. i took my sister and my 14-year-old niece to the central west end location for lunch. we ordered a south side classico and my niece built her own with a variety of vegetables. our waiter seemed a little preoccupied and it took a while for someone to actually come over to our table. we weren't told about any specials and we didn't receive refills on our drinks until we asked. the pizza was good, not great. i think there are better pizzarias on the hill and they aren't chains.

what's all the hype?. i can say that the service was excellent, the salads were good but the thin and thick crust pizzas we all ordered were way, i mean way overpriced, and not that good...just passable. i think all the publicity they got from the president liking it has gone to their heads. maybe before it was well known it was better. they need to go back to the original then. the place was quite cute and modern, but if you want a really fantastic cheaper pizza go all the way down to festus mo and try pogolino's. they have not changed their quality in over 30 years at least...they know what is good, and what isn't.

i just had a not so good pizza from carry out which was disappointing but spoke with the manager, paul, and he more than made it up to me. we love pi and i will continue to eat there. i'm just very pleased that some managers still know what customer service means. he was very pleasant and apologetic for our pizza which, unfortunately, is going to waste. thank you, paul!

yum!. north beach deep dish, flavorful and delicious. meatball appetizers and pi bites, wonderful.

had to wait for service throughout the meal and don't know why, the place had plenty of servers and hardly any customers. server was knowledgable and friendly, so when we saw them, it was fine.

don't know what the beef is with food being 'spicy' unless it's just that there is just so much bland pizza in this area. and on the spicy spectrum, it just qualifies to be on it, it's not inordinately hot by any stretch of the imagination. matter of fact, i wouldn't be back if they changed it. too few places to go in this region that actually have a lttle heat that isn't pointless cayenne.

would go back and wish that they had a location in west county.
