bought scoopon voucher for this high tea on my birthday. it was the prettiest brunch i’ve ever had. all the pastries were not too sweet (swipe to the left):
- scones with yuzu jam&cream; scones was crumbly outside and fluffy inside, just it should be
- choux; when i ate the choux i already half full so i didnt notice how itstastelike
- earl grey pond; strong earl grey and not too sweet with smooth texture
- green tea tiramisu; strong matcha and not too sweet as well
- salted caramel cronut; it could say it’s my fav so far. firstly i was underestimate it would betasteso sweet like some cronuts i had before. but it’s not anyway.
our hight tea package was included savoury stuff as well; salmon toasties (not a fan of sourdough so i didnt eat it), potato bread with scrambled egg (averagetastebut i liked the potato bread it’s very fluffy).
anyway i was bit irritated with the coffee, i thought because we bought voucher so it came in small cup. it’s not enough for my hubby, so i tried to buy another 2 cuppa, and still...it came in small cuppa 😓

i went to winter high tea at petal met sugar. the food look very good especially cakes. unfortunately, thetasteof cakes wasn’t good. however, good thing about here are savoury menu and drink that i order. it was very delicious.
overall, i wouldn’t come back to have high tea here because thetasteis average and overprice. 45$ per person. not included drink.

petal met sugar is a small cafe that combines sweets and flowers. the cafe displays too pretty to eat desserts as you walked in, then a small display of beautiful flowers on their retail space and a very visible adjoining kitchen where you can see the pastry chef creating those edible artworks you just saw on display.

the interior is clean with white tile floorings and white plywood furnishings as if to humbly let the sweets and the flowers take centre stage.

the menu comprises of floral influenced sweets and drinks. i opted for the very instagrammable looking terrarium, a white chocolate globe filled with passion fruit and finger lime pannacotta, brown butter soil and edible flowers. it's an incredibly delicate dessert thattasteas good as it looks. i enjoyed it with a pot of le vie en rose tea which perfectly complements the dessert.

the summer rose pav, with earl grey tea meringue, rose chantily cream, fresh strawberries, freeze dried raspberries, candied orange and lemon balm was vibrant and light. their brownie was rich with generous amount of walnuts in the brownie. i washed all these down with watermelon and earl grey ice tea which was refreshing and as elegant as their cakes.

i genuinely enjoyed the whole experience. the space is limited but the wait for the table is worth it. warning: you will want to eat every cake in here, they're that pretty!

a friend had mentioned this place and had showed me pictures and i was was just so so excited to go there since everything looked great, delicious and unique on instagram.

ambiance: the place is small but cozy, i enjoyed sitting outside, but didnt look anything like their pictures. i have to compliment their photographer.

service: they were politely rude, lol, i felt like they were thinking they were giving us the food for free. and seemed to be making a huge effort to take our order.

food: croissant and pain au chocolat were not bad, not good either, just normal, they served it cold, didnt evena ask if e wanted them warmed up. the mantcha pastry was very plain and expensive for what it was, it just looked pretty, i couldnttastethe matcha, just the slightly burnt pastry.

overall: we took a long long walk to go there because we were very excited but i was very dissapointed, wouldnt go back and wouldnt recommend to go there either, there are many many better palces closer, cheaper, with better attention and ambiance.

deliciously light and fresh. these desserts weren't overly sweet and the attention they placed on the details of each of the dishes is evident in the presentation as well as flavour. my favourite was the matcha creme brûlée which actually had the bitter tone of matcha.
the terrarium was magical - with the jasmine tea panna cotta that was well balanced with the sweet white chocolate shell, mytastebuds were on its own little adventure. the intricate presentation of the flowers made everything even more exciting. moreover,
the vanilla infused croissant was light and flaky without being too oily. the only negative aspect was that the vanilla flavour was not dominant and i would have liked totastemore of the bean.

in general, i loved this place - another recommendation. i mean, it's instagram worthy and lovely. a win, win.

been meaning to check this place out after seeing so many pretty ig photos! so i made a reservation for a sunday and a good thing i did cause it did get a bit busy!

love the use of marble and hexagon tiles, such a fresh and inviting look! it's just a lot smaller than expected and that applies to everything i'm talking about. from the individual sweets and cutlery to their chairs and tables.

we got the winter high tea ($27.50 pp) and my goodness was it beautiful! thetastehowever, was a bit disappointing and a bit expensive for such a small amount of treats given. however i did quite enjoy the raspberry tartlette.

nevertheless can definitely see the hype as it's super ig worthy and the flowers are so pretty! service is also friendly and attentive.

so there are places where desserts are too pretty and you feel guilty eating them. but then all your guilt flies away because theytasteamazing. tried the terrarium. it's basically has lupicia jasmin tea panacotta, yuzu gel, strawberry crisps, chocolate soil, edible flowers and lemon balm. and let's not forget how pretty it looks! you get a burst of different layers of flavours while tasting. and the layers are quite distinguishable from each other. i paired it with a lemongrass and organic peppermint tea. beautiful combination. coming back till i try all of what they have.

introduce to all of you a new sydney city girls meet up spot: @petalmetsugar
when i first open my instagram account, i was just randomly pick 3 things i really like, flowers, food and photo. now i found a newly opened store, which perfectly fit all my interest.
cakes here are so pretty like a small decoration, ice teas served with ice ball i only saw in whisky before.
i tried 4 different cakes including the halloween special.

1.peach oolong ||one of the signature cake
it has been long time that i haven't seen something like this: simple but so beautiful. this store just considered every single details, from the color of the plate, table flowers, table color to that pure white with raspberry red touch cake.
in this cake, complex layers and flavors, including yoghurt, coconut, nuts, peach, berry and oolong, mixed together and give us a food symphony inside our mouth. ittastebeautiful, soft, with a bit of tangy. really suit the incoming summer.
the only downside i can think of is we can't reallytastethe oolong flavor. i can see the small crushed tea leaves in one of the layer but the berry layer might over take it.

2. ghastly ghouls||the super cute halloween cake
top: the pavlova type of top really give this cake a highlight. i got upset when i heard the pumpkin was sold out but really got cheered up when saw this little ghost. the top is crispy outside and fluffy inside. flawless.

bottom: i forgot to check the description on the counter but...i think it is a blueberry mousse cake (correct me if i am wrong). i really like the texture and how it's creamy but also lighttasteat the same time. the base is a little bit hard for me because my fork can't poke through ....😜but overall, it's such a creative cake and it's great. too bad only available at halloween.

3.terrarium||this is just something definitely will catch most girls' eyes. when last weekend i went there, i saw this amazing cake, it's just lighted my whole afternoon. simple pleasure haha.

intro:" passionfruit finger like pannacotta, cocoa nib soil, baby lemon balm, edible flower garden, callebaut 29.5% white chocolate"

my friend used "summer garden" to described this cake.

the passionfruit inside is actually pretty tangy, so it's better to eat with the white chocolate shell for the balance taste.
and it is a guilty pleasure to destroy the whole cup and nom nom it....

4.vanilla and rhubarb eclair|| this is like one of the best eclairs, or i should say desserts i had ever.
intro:" vanilla bean (source from new zealand), creme patisserie, rhubarb jam, rhubarb chips, choice pastry (nut-free)." this is a small eclair but full of different flavors. when i heard eclair, i normally link to those profiteroles with a oblong shape stuff with cream inside. this beautiful eclair is so different. it have such a great texture, soft but a little bit sticky, with a tiny bit of tangy from rhubarb and the superb aroma from the vanilla bean. i can eat it everyday. (the only flaw is: the size is small not enough 😣😣)
