petal met sugar is a small cafe that combines sweets and flowers. the cafe displays too pretty to eat desserts as you walked in, then a small display of beautifulflowerson their retail space and a very visible adjoining kitchen where you can see the pastry chef creating those edible artworks you just saw on display.

the interior is clean with white tile floorings and white plywood furnishings as if to humbly let the sweets and theflowerstake centre stage.

the menu comprises of floral influenced sweets and drinks. i opted for the very instagrammable looking terrarium, a white chocolate globe filled with passion fruit and finger lime pannacotta, brown butter soil and edible flowers. it's an incredibly delicate dessert that taste as good as it looks. i enjoyed it with a pot of le vie en rose tea which perfectly complements the dessert.

the summer rose pav, with earl grey tea meringue, rose chantily cream, fresh strawberries, freeze dried raspberries, candied orange and lemon balm was vibrant and light. their brownie was rich with generous amount of walnuts in the brownie. i washed all these down with watermelon and earl grey ice tea which was refreshing and as elegant as their cakes.

i genuinely enjoyed the whole experience. the space is limited but the wait for the table is worth it. warning: you will want to eat every cake in here, they're that pretty!

two of a girl's favourite things: deserts andflowers🍰🌷

drinks were ordered first which were complimentary to the high tea and we could choose any drinks we wanted. when i saw ‘earl grey hot chocolate’ on the drinks menu, i knew i had to get it. i was pleasantly surprised as the hot chocolate had the perfect blend of earl grey and the flavour was delicate; not overpowering.

the chai latte unfortunately was quite strong for me and was rather liquidy while the peach oolong tea had a soft note about it, with the scent of the peach slightly coming through. my friend and i also ordered the croissants separately as the high tea only included desserts; nothing savoury like the traditional high tea.

we started with the ‘madeleines’ and it was like eating a little muffin but better. next, were the ‘scones’; they were lovely while the jam and cream complimented them lightly yet nicely. forget the chai latte, get your chai fix through eating the ‘carrot and chai’ cake which was delicious and not dense at all.

now for the ‘cronuts’, 3 out of 5 of ours were actually doughy and mine being one of them. i knew the texture was a bit odd but i couldn’t work it out fast enough until my friend made the comment that they were still raw. this goes to show how good the cronuts were, the flavours were definitely there but it was a shame we could not continue eating it. the staff apologised sincerely and offered us each a matcha macaron and a lavender one.

we saved one of the best till last, the blueberry tart was composed of blueberries but with a mild lavender flavour surrounding it.

i honestly hope pms continues their high tea seasonally because it was that good and dare i say, one of the best high tea’s i’ve ever had? regardless, the ‘earl grey hot chocolate’ and ‘ham & gruyere croissant’ were scrumptious enough that i would be back to this cafe in a heartbeat.

petal met sugar is a charming and lovely cafeteria whereflowerscoincide with art. decorated with colourful flowers, the cafeteria is definitely the best place to bring your girlfriend or wife along for a date because the bright and sunnyflowerswill bring a smile to your face.

it was a weekend morning, so i get to try the trio tasting plate, which comprises an eclair, peach oolong and passion fruit yuzu. all of the cakes and desserts at petal are so lovely that i could not bear to eat them. the cakes have a pleasant tinge of flower scent which absolves any guilt you may have for taking desserts so early in the morning. the cold brew which accompanies the desserts enhances their already heavenly taste. i could not wait to return for their terrarium and apple/chamomile!!

the cakes look just as beautiful as theflowersthey sell. the shop & the space are lovely minimalist. however that also mean minimal seating of about 4 tables, which means expect to wait if you want to sit & eat-in. once you're lucky enough to get a table, expect people waiting to hover around you. all of these hassles are somehow worth it because the cakes are as delicious as they are beautiful. the apple n chamomile is a great layers of textures, the creamy mousse encase the confit apple, the madeleine on the bottom compliments nicely. sweetness was just right. the eclair was also lovely, the creme patisserie was smooth & indulgent with a coffee taste. the pink choc shards added a hint of rosewater. love to comeback and try more!

deliciously light and fresh. these desserts weren't overly sweet and the attention they placed on the details of each of the dishes is evident in the presentation as well as flavour. my favourite was the matcha creme brûlée which actually had the bitter tone of matcha.
the terrarium was magical - with the jasmine tea panna cotta that was well balanced with the sweet white chocolate shell, my taste buds were on its own little adventure. the intricate presentation of theflowersmade everything even more exciting. moreover,
the vanilla infused croissant was light and flaky without being too oily. the only negative aspect was that the vanilla flavour was not dominant and i would have liked to taste more of the bean.

in general, i loved this place - another recommendation. i mean, it's instagram worthy and lovely. a win, win.

been meaning to check this place out after seeing so many pretty ig photos! so i made a reservation for a sunday and a good thing i did cause it did get a bit busy!

love the use of marble and hexagon tiles, such a fresh and inviting look! it's just a lot smaller than expected and that applies to everything i'm talking about. from the individual sweets and cutlery to their chairs and tables.

we got the winter high tea ($27.50 pp) and my goodness was it beautiful! the taste however, was a bit disappointing and a bit expensive for such a small amount of treats given. however i did quite enjoy the raspberry tartlette.

nevertheless can definitely see the hype as it's super ig worthy and theflowersare so pretty! service is also friendly and attentive.

so there are places where desserts are too pretty and you feel guilty eating them. but then all your guilt flies away because they taste amazing. tried the terrarium. it's basically has lupicia jasmin tea panacotta, yuzu gel, strawberry crisps, chocolate soil, edibleflowersand lemon balm. and let's not forget how pretty it looks! you get a burst of different layers of flavours while tasting. and the layers are quite distinguishable from each other. i paired it with a lemongrass and organic peppermint tea. beautiful combination. coming back till i try all of what they have.

if you loveflowersand a sweet tooth, then petal met sugar is the way to go.. a small dessert/florist shop in woolloomooloo. :). i don't usually like dessert rich in chocolate but this one is an exception! chocolate candy bar is comprised of chocolate flourless sponge, burnt butter ganache, praline feuletine crunch and sprayed milk chocolate mousse. all of the elements works perfectly together. this is probably my fave dessert there :)

i find myself using the words 'pretty', 'lovely', 'delicate' a lot when i think of petal met sugar and on how to describe it. originally wanted to try the tasting trio so i could dabble into a bit of everything, but they had run out by the time we got there, so i suppose get in early on saturdays if you want to try it out! i was so excited to try the terrarium because it's an absolute delight for the eyes, but unfortunately (or fortunately) they had the festive sweets only for the holiday season.

everything is undeniably pretty so it was really difficult to narrow it down to just two. finally decided on the peach oolong and snowball with a watermelon and earl grey iced tea. it does seem a little pricey but the care and effort gone into making each and every dish definitely makes up for it. both dishes were just lovely and delicate. i loved how the snowball opens up for some more pretty goodness, and the peach oolong is quite the treat. not overly sweet which is something you would expect from all the sugar, and because the portions aren't big, you don't get sick of it. watermelon tea was alright, but the other option of grapefruit green tea does sound more appealing for a second visit.

really nice clean vibe to the place, and somewhere worth visiting again, but as it is on the pricier side i might save it for a time i really want to treat myself to some prettyflowersand lovely sweets. i also need to go back to try the terrarium!

recently opened patisserie and florist near the domain which i tip could become a crazy food blogger sensation very soon. everything is very instagrammable here from the pretty, dainty gateaux to the beautifulflowersand white spaces. while some tiny cakes are a hefty $9-10, this place would be excellent for a special occasion or simply splashing out and indulging yourself. i suggest lunch at nearby flour and stone then stopping by here for a sweet treat; or takeaway and sit in the park.
