petal met sugar is a small cafe that combines sweets and flowers. the cafe displays too pretty to eat desserts as you walked in, then a small display of beautiful flowers on their retail space and a very visible adjoining kitchen where you can see the pastry chef creating those edible artworks you just saw on display.

the interior is clean with white tile floorings and white plywood furnishings as if to humbly let the sweets and the flowers take centre stage.

the menu comprises of floral influenced sweets and drinks. i opted for the very instagrammable looking terrarium, a white chocolate globe filled with passion fruit and finger lime pannacotta, brown butter soil and edible flowers. it's an incredibly delicatedessertthat taste as good as it looks. i enjoyed it with a pot of le vie en rose tea which perfectly complements the dessert.

the summer rose pav, with earl grey tea meringue, rose chantily cream, fresh strawberries, freeze dried raspberries, candied orange and lemon balm was vibrant and light. their brownie was rich with generous amount of walnuts in the brownie. i washed all these down with watermelon and earl grey ice tea which was refreshing and as elegant as their cakes.

i genuinely enjoyed the whole experience. the space is limited but the wait for the table is worth it. warning: you will want to eat every cake in here, they're that pretty!

had a lovely high tea experience with my good friend to celebrate my birthday early! we tried out the new winter high tea menu which consisted of 5 minidessertsweets and it was accompanied with your choice of tea/coffee. we were told to eat the sweets according to the order in the menu and they tasted really nice. it wasn't too heavy, it was just right! the presentation was very cute and interesting. it's a good place to go to if you wanna go out on a date or catch up with friends. would recommend coming here!

visited for mother's day and had the mother's day high tea. presentation is some of the best, super super cute! so much attention to detail.
the high tea is designed for two people and has five different minidessertsweets with condiments ect. we also ordered two pots of tea, the peach oolong and elder flower green tea. both teas were light but had great flavour, went perfectly with thedessertspread.

would definitely recommend to everyone! they've now got a winter high tea which looks just as yum as the one i tried. can't wait to go back and try some of their other desserts!

the crossover between a flower shop and a cafe was a brilliant idea. the desserts are beautiful and all have a touch of floral essence added to each. i had the flower bomb which was a fundessertthat was designed to be smashed to enjoy. as in the title, thedessertdoes have a subtle floral taste. the different textures and flavours thisdessertoffers is no force to be reckon with. from the orange blossom & mascarpone mousse to the crumble and topped with edible flowers, thisdessertwill take your palate through a floral roller coaster. i will definitely be back for more!

i’ve recently visited a place that i’ve always wanted to try – petal met sugar in wolloomooloo. it’s a collaboration between a florist and adessertchef. isn’t that the best combo anyone could ever think of?. let’s start with an overview flatlay of everything we had: ham & cheese croissant (for that savoury fix) / easter specialdessert/ terrarium / pancakes / flat white / matcha latte. we were lucky enough to try their easter specialdessert

‘easter egg carton for two’

there are 5 easter eggs made from callebaut white couverture chocolate, sort of like a ‘kinder surprise’. each of them contains different ingredients inside: matcha / popping candy crumble / mango lime ginger / salted caramel / gold dust.

i went on a cold, rainy and windy day so i really wanted to have some yummydessertto cheer me up. when i arrived, i saw there were only 4 tables outside and that was it. basically no indoor seating. i'm not entirely sure if it's always like this but in some instagram photos, i swear there is indoor seating. so we sat outside in awful weather.

service was pretty bad to be honest. they really didn't look like they wanted to be there and they served us in a cold manner.

i ordered 3 desserts including the terrarium, oolong peach and the passionfruit yuzu. passionfruit yuzu was definitely the tastiest being sweet but tart at the same time and the citrus flavours were really refreshing.
i also ordered the watermelon tea which was good but you don't really get your money's worth because the cups are small and it gets diluted with a huge cube of ice. my friend's matcha iced tea was extremely watered down and she commented on the lack of matcha taste, looked like slightly green milk.
i'd go again to try out the high tea menu but other than that, won't be returning.

there's one week remaining before the stunning flower bombdessertwill no longer be available. orange blossom and mascarpone mousse, brown butter popping crumble and passionfruit jelly is enclosed within a fine, white chocolate dome, that is smashed to reveal a kaleidoscope of edible flowers.

the choice of cakes can be overwhelming and we managed to takeaway and sample a few of them before they were snapped up by the eager diners here. the cakes were beautifully presented and tasted as wonderful as they looked.

service is friendly and guy did a good job juggling between making the drinks, playing the cakes and taking order and payments for takeaway as well. he was affable and offered advice on what cakes to try.

i see a lot of potential in this place and could be a solid 4.5 if they tweak a few things.

for starters the menu is a little small and not a wide choice compared to flour and stone just up the road. they also don't offer any solid foods apart from desserts which for me is a big question mark. would you have lunch somewhere else and then drive here just for a fewdessertitems ??, see my point.

and don't get me started on the limited out door seating, as per above, it just makes it that much harder to come here even though their desserts are actually really good

i think with a few adjustments they'll be great, but that's down the line

i visited petal met sugar after seeing some beautiful pics on instagram. it is predominately a florist (beautiful arrangements) but has coffee and sweets. you can still the little kitchen where they bake the treats. lovely lady operating the place.

i purchased the terrarium which was adessertversion of the plant terrarium callebaut 29.5% white chocolate "glass" with passion fruit lime pannacotta at the bottom, chocolate cocoa nip "dirt", lemon balm and edible flowers. it was delicious.

they had plenty of other options, in particular, a "snickers/twix bar style dessert", juices and coffees. check out their instagram for further pics of their offerings.

a little hard to find (near the domain parking entrance), and more what i would call darlinghurst (than wooloomooloo as listed in their address).

very artistically cool 💐

if you love flowers and a sweet tooth, then petal met sugar is the way to go.. a small dessert/florist shop in woolloomooloo. :). i don't usually likedessertrich in chocolate but this one is an exception! chocolate candy bar is comprised of chocolate flourless sponge, burnt butter ganache, praline feuletine crunch and sprayed milk chocolate mousse. all of the elements works perfectly together. this is probably my favedessertthere :)

braved the summer heat and finally visited this gem yesterday - it was definitely worth it! while i was a little shocked to find there was only outdoor seating, i later forgot about the heat while eating their desserts.
their iced teas had a subtle sweetness (the grapefruit/green tea one more subtle on the sweetness), which was perfect for the hot weather. we ordered the terrarium, peach oolong and citron, and all were beautifully presented. the combination of elements eachdessertjust worked so well with each other! while the desserts are quite small and are a little on the expensive side, the effort placed into the presentation and flavours make it all worth it!
thank you for the lovely food, i will definitely visit again!
