situated on the n2 in grabouw is the peregrine farm stall café. the natural extension from the farm stall has led to an eatery worth driving to. the menu is seasonal and we prefer going there for breakfast. peregrine farm stall café. i try and choose something different forbreakfasteach time we go there and on this visit i went for the salmon bloom (r87). the croissant was perfect and generously filled with scrambled eggs. the smoked salmon trout was served on the side capers and roasted tomatoes. dave had the peregrine poach (r52) with a side order of bacon (r18). his eggs were perfectly poached and i could smell the basil pesto from where i was sitting.

we've been here twice, both times for brunch. the first time, we were heading for a weekend away in hermanus, the second time being on our was to plettenberg bay. and both times i was not disappointed with their breakfast!

"the pollinator" consists of crunchy, homemade granola with creamy yogurt, fresh fruit and a drizzle of honey. i loved it! plus it was quite a large portion, i couldn't finish it, so definitely value for money! paired with some fresh fruit juice, it's definitely a good, healthy start to the day.

"the salmon bloom" was also delicious! the croissant was fresh, the salmon fresh and well paired with scrambled eggs and cream cheese. the scramble was soft and fluffy, very lights and filling. i paired it with a sinfully delicious mocha coffee, which was rich and chocolatey, but also smooth and creamy. i don't regret it!

the other food also received good reviews - you can't go wrong ordering a good ol' farmhousebreakfastand all their egg-inclusive meals are guaranteed to be good, i'm pretty sure they use fresh farm eggs and not the artificial powder stuff so manybreakfastjoints are using these days.

good quality for money, a lovely pitstop on any road trip, a beautiful view and an extensive farm stall to walk through afterwards and buy a snack for the road. very quick service and also very friendly and helpful. they also have specials running every day. but be warned - they don't take bookings and can get very full over weekends and holidays. however, know that it will be well worth the wait!

lovely pitstop for a lunch, tea orbreakfaston the long road. interior is lovely and was especially cozy not only because of the timber finish, but also the cool gas heaters.

food portions were generous, price very reasonable.
had a steak pie, which was good but i prefer my pastry flaky and light.

waiters were lacking with service delivery- not too friendly nor great with rem wring orders.
