it's sports-bar grub...not bad. grade: b-
penn quarter sports tavern's menu is fairly standard for a sports bar - burgers, sandwiches, etc. nothing fancy but okay.
they try a few times to "jazz up" their approach to the food, a move i'm not convinced is succesful. for example, the chipotle sauce on a shrimp po' boy wasn't bad, but it didn't feel as if the sandwich was quite legitimate (still good, though). their homemade potato chips were tasty but they were very greasy.
if i had a problem it was with timing. at the lunch hour, it took an inordinately long period of time to get thefoodafter ordering. true, we were a big group, but we were the some of the first ones in that day, and we had contacted the management ahead of time. they should, i would suggest, be better prepared to get people in and out during lunch.
