good pizza and sandwiches. dined here a couple of times, seated inside and outside both. everything was great, including the service. busy place, but everything runs smoothly. comfy environment.

we stopped there for lunch after visiting a few museums. we ordered burgers and they were very good, cooked exactly to order and quite tasty. the service was excellent. the place is nice, simple, typical sports bar, but very clean and with plenty of screens if you wish to follow your favorite sports/team.

food and service were good, but despite several requests to make sure an obviously open door was closed staff chose to not do so resulting in a very cold dining area downstairs.

we were looking for a place for lunch in the city where we could sit down, have quick service and good food. we found it at the sports tavern, just a block off pennsylvania ave. my husband, the burger expert pronounced that the southwest burger was excellent. the fries were fresh cut and cooked perfectly. i had the turkey avocado on berry wheat bread. very tasty with a pesto spread and it felt like i was eating healthy too. this sandwich came with home made chips, also good. we will definitely keep this place in mind next time we are in dc.

penn quarter sports tavern. ate here while visiting washington dc. it was a very busy place, but service was good and friendly. i had chicken tacos from appetizer menu and it was very good. my husband had nachos, which was also good if you like chili. would definitely eat there again. only negative is that restroom is hard to find and there are no signs pointing the way.

great burgers. popped in for a late lunch on my most recent trip to dc. nice little sports pub with great atmosphere and attentive servers. after checking out the menu i settled in on a burger, but which one? they have a great selection all of which start with a half-pound certified angus patty. i opted for the sunny-side-up burger which is a cheese burger with a fried egg on top.

the burger was prepared to the right temp and the combination of the melty american cheese and fried egg were perfect. the burger was huge and i enjoyed their home made chips with the burger.

great burger joint and sports pub. would recommend.

great pub food and reasonably priced. they don't have a kids menu but they have plenty of foods that kids like. we found this place when looking for a place to have lunch after visiting the archives. we had burgers and they were delicious! the next night after being turned away from two other restaurants for not having reservations we found ourselves in this neighborhood again and decided to give it a try for dinner. this time we ordered pizza and beer and again it was great. i definitely give it two thumbs up.

affordable good food and wide menu selection. my opinion(s): their chicken parmesan sandwich and fries are amazing! their salads have fresh ingredients and good dressings. i carried out pizza once and they stacked the pizza slices on top of each other in a too small box. (not cool! won't carryout pizza again...) also, you can't call ahead for a carryout order, which is somewhat annoying. when dining in, the wait staff, at times, can be inattentive, even when they do not seem busy. however, the wide menu selection, good food and affordable prices keep me coming back.

game spot. great place to watch a game! plenty of tvs to show multiple games, fast service, and no bratty kids messing up the adult atmosphere. i recommend the crab pizza.

good (read: average) food at very reasonable prices in a good location near the mall, but not kid-friendly. no kids menu. plus, downstairs is extremely small, and outside door opening and closing caused it to be frigid inside in early april. music was loud. would recommend for a small group of adults who want to watch a game and drink beer.

good sports bar right off the mall. to the person below bemoaning no kids' menu ... it's a bar. and pizza, burgers, and sandwiches are all kid-friendly items if you so choose.

i have been here three times now, twice with alumni groups. the service during game days was sufficient -- the crowds were big which can be a server's nightmare (and dream if people tip well). the food is always quick to come, but getting a second drink can often be a series of obstacles as you give up on the server and go to the bar.

that being said ... it's a bar. the food ... for a bar ... is good. i've had a burger, the pizza, and a club sandwich and all were good.

as everyone else said, this is the best place to watch a game so i won't go on with that but their burgers are amazing!! if you eat there you have to try one with a nice cold beer as you check out the game on one of their billion tv's.

this place is the worst. this place is the worst, the food is awful, its over crowded, the staff is rude at best and for a sports bar in dc they dont like any dc teams! do not go here!
