the design of the restaurant is just beautiful. it is open with lots of light and allows you to enjoy the view over the vineyard and the city. the menu is modern and innovative. obviously thewinelist showcasing the penfolds wines which also gives you the opportunity to consider rare vintages. the food was fantastic it was beautifully presented and flavours were amazing. the only let down was the table service. on arrival there was no warm welcome. it took a long time for the order to be taken and there were long delays in refillingwineglasses. for this level of restaurant and this price there needs to be a much better focus on customer service and much better attention to table service.

great food at a high price. lunch for four was over $250. risotto was very strong with seafood stock and one other flavour of peas, it needed more as marron is very subtle. lamb with fried broccolini was good. we also had the eel toast.winetasting is not free, but it’s redeemable on food or wine. tawny was lovely.

really nice place to walk around and try thewinealthough quite expensive. we had a few oysters and some cheese and it came to around $50. bit ridiculous but i guess that's what you get when you go to an establishment like penfolds. would still return.

great views. slow service. food is quite nice, but overpriced. very limited choice for vegetarians. thewinetasting is good - free tasting of a substantial list if you are dining in the restaurant.

pretty costly but food really lovely! not easy to choose if you aren't used to more fussy food never the less beautifully presented and delicious! service great. whilstwinelist is limited it is well structured and think the different glasses sizes are really good if you want to try a couple of different things.

what an overrated restaurant and a limitedwinelist. had the degu with 50 for a friends birthday. wish they had been as assiduous topping upwineglasses as they were water glasses. hopeless. food is average +, but nothing more. this is not a value observation. i don't give a stuff what it costs. ordinary. go to orana if you want this type of meal. it's light years better.

after visited penfolds barossa, we got a chance to visit magill estate this time. we had a brief visit to the estate and cellar door, then enjoyed a light lunch in the kitchen (please note there's a "restaurant" at the right hand side mainly for a finer dinning). the kitchen is a bit causal but still looks luxury than most of the other cellar door restaurants. we had some entree portion sharing dishes and paired with some penfoldswinein glass. sitting outdoor next to some vines. a enjoyable moment !

the co-pilot and i headed here several months ago when it first opened and absolutely loved it. the location gives breathtaking views out across adelaide all the way to the lefevre peninsula. the views whilst eating top notch food with fabulouswine– what more could you ask for? 
the co-pilot booked a couple of weeks in advance so we could reserve a window seat. the menu changes regularly so we were very excited to see what they had on the menu this time round. we decided what we would have to eat first and based on that went with their recommendations for whatwinewe would choose (you can’t go to penfolds and not dabble in thewineon offer!).

ambience- gorgeous - modern - sophisticated - v classy
service - wonderful - but they almost dropped by the table too much interrupting conversation filling up one sip of water in each glass
food - some might find it a little too "gourmet" but it was fine dining at an affordable price point. gorgeous flavours and something for everyone, even the picky ones!
thewinelist was actually quite basic, would have liked to see a few more options given it is penfolds! i did order something they served at cellar door but not in the restaurant and they helpfully obliged.
overall a great place for a special occasion, but not for the frugal.
