please do not overlook pete's!. first off let me say i have been going to pensacola beach for vacations since i was in the womb, literally! :-) we go every year! i am 30 years old and have been going here since 1991 when they opened! it was my parents fav and still my fav in escambia & santa rosa area. peg leg's grouper supreme is my husband's favorite sandwich in the world literally! all there seafood is cooked so well, flaky and flavorful! mixed grill is the best. if you prefer fried version they have that too and it's fried well, not overcooked. i love the outdoor seating and atmosphere! this is not a stuffyplace:-d kids love it too! they love that their food comes in a bucket they can use as a hat lol or use for sand on the beach! you get a lot for your money here and the only downside of pete's is it seems like there is always a wait. i wish they would ditch the under "where" bar and use it for full use food service! please do not miss this one! it will become your family tradition too and if someone from peg's happens to read this! bring back the pinball machines upstairs you used to have :-d kids love those too!

ate here on a crowded day!. so i finally got around to thisplaceon uwf's graduation day a few weeks ago. one of my friends graduated, and this was her pick. despite reservations, we ended up waiting about 45 minutes to be seated. however, they have plenty of covered waiting areas, so at least they give you that!

our server was super-friendly, attentive, and accurate (lancelot!). we had a party of 12, so kudos to him. the food is a step above your standard beach bum hangout. it's plentiful and well-priced. i hear the gumbo is excellent also. i have to tell you though, that the key lime pie was underwhelming. but- that could just be one of those key-limes-aren't-that-great-this-time-of-year things.

overall, not exactly "my kind" of place. i'm more of a land-lover, after all, but it was definitely on the money if you're looking for a casual beachsideplaceto enjoy some good grub.

peg leg pete’s is one the most popular oyster and seafood bars in pensacola beach. prior to our visit there, we’ve driven by theplacemany, many times and their parking lot always seemed full . . . so we figured to try to catch them at a not-too-busy time period sometime in the future. we camped at fort pickens park 6 miles west of town and decided to ride our bikes into town on a wednesday for lunch at peg leg pete’s. many others had the same idea so we had to “take a number” to wait for a table to open up. that wasn’t too long and soon we are inside being served. once inside and looking around it is apparent peg leg’s several dining areas will accommodate lots more diners than there are parking spaces. so tip for other visitors. a full parking lot does not mean long waits for a table. . . . or actually getting your meal served. this is a bigplaceinside.

thisplaceis at a beautiful location. we drove out there to experience right on the water restaurant type. it was very cute and the oysters were amazing!

there are tons of seafood places in this area but surprisingly enough. there are not many with as good of food and service as peg leg pete's! we ate here twice while on our one week vacation. i almost never do that unless the food is outstanding. i really love the traditional jumbo gulf shrimp cocktails. you would think being on the ocean this would not be hard to find. these days its almost impossible. not only did peg leg pete's have them as a appetizer. they were very good! they do the traditional cold glass with 5 huge fresh shrimp around the rim with their spices and some of the best homemade cocktail sauce i have ever had.

the amazing food didn't stop there either. i had a very good fresh salad and a dozen of the best spicy lafitte baked oysters i have ever had. the oysters were seasoned and cooked to perfection. my wife had the king crab and unlike most places they were worthy of the name "king" crab ... they were huge and also cooked to perfection. the service was great and theplacewas very clean. i cant wait to visit them again the next time we are in town. i rate these guys a+++ in every category. i cant think of even one small negative remark.

amazing mahi mahi! iaea craving fish and this far exceeded my expectations. it was so delicious. the garlic bread was also very good.

but the service was the best. our waitress was so incredibly nice and helped us figure out other restaurants to visit during our trip.

i highly recommend thisplaceif you're in town.

we love anyplaceyou can come in from the beach in your flip flops and coverup and grab some fabulous fresh fish! there is a reason why they are so busy!

our go toplaceevery time we visit pensacola beach. atmosphere is great! food is great! service is great! you can't go wrong with peg leg's!!

love thisplacefun atmosphere. the shrimps i got were huge and tasted awesome. need to get there early in peak months. only complaint is the stools outside are brutal to sit on.

not impressed. mixed grill was not good, scallops were rubbery, fish was bland. corn on the cobb tasted frozen and boiled too long. not sure how thisplacegot a 4.2 rating, should be 2.4 or lower.

greatplaceto eat! well worth the wait, no matter how long it is. there was four in our party and we all had something different, from grilled to deep fried. everything was fresh and delicious.

we eat at peg leg pete's every chance we get. everything we have had has been excellent. the cajun oysters are the best. it's a funplaceand a perfect beach bar and restaurant ever.

the food is delicious and they have great service too! the staff is very attentive. i've already been here a couple of times and all were good experiences. the experience is definitely worth the wait, thisplaceis busy for a good reason.

i love raw oysters and thisplacehas some of the sweetest i have ever had! we will be back in pensacola in july and believe me i will have many dozen here.

spinach artichoke dip. peg leg pete's makes an amazingly good spinach artichoke dip that is served piping hot and dripping with cheese. it is served with fresh tortilla chips and just enough for 2.

they offer grouper prepared several different ways but the fried is very good. the fish remains tender and flaky while the outside is crispy. it always tastes fresh.

the wait is worth it!. peg leg pete's was recommended to me by both locals and tourists. we arrived around 7:00 pm on a monday night and we were greeted warmly by the hostess. we were told it would be approximately a 30 minute wait and it was close to that. the wait was worth it! we began our meal with the best spinach artichoke dip that i have ever tasted. it was hot and cheesy and complete with grated parmesan cheese on top. i ordered the fried grouper and had a side of fries and sugar snap peas. everything was fresh and the grouper was cooked to perfection. the fish was flavorful, moist and flaked on my fork. the fries were good and the seasoning had a dash of sweetness. my dining companion ordered the stuffed grouper with garlic toast, new potatoes and seasoned rice. he enjoyed the grouper but he ordered clarified butter from the kitchen to enhance the flavor of the grilled grouper. another dining companion ordered the fried shrimp and stated it was delicious. they do have a kids menu and the food is served in a sand pail. kids meals come with fries and a drink. the cost for our meal...3 adults and one child with drinks was $85. the atmosphere is casual, busy and loud. it's not aplacefor a quiet conversation. the staff is friendly, efficient, attentive and accommodating. we can't wait to go back again!
