what can i say that hasn't been said? this place has never disappointed and for the service and food you get is an absolute steal! always get the seafood platter to start as it changes with their daily fish special. also make sure to get reservations and get on of the two or three nightly specials. i've had thetunacollar, whole flounder, and covina belly. all were out of this world good!

stopped into peche on monday 11/26 about 7pm.

greeted by two friendly faced ladies, immediately feeling welcomed.

was seated and with a pleasant attitude and advised of the specials for the night and was asked what i would be drinking. ipa for me!!

after returning with the drink, i requested the steak tartare with oyster aioli and my main dish, grilledtunawith greens and olive relish.

both were marvelous! the entire experience with peche was great. great staff, excellent food and a wonderful new orleans atmosphere!

bravo, bravo!!

i will eat here again. awesome!!

i can’t say enough about this place. i stopped here for lunch before a show at the saenger, and it was very good. we ordered four items, and two were absolutely delicious while the other two were mediocre. the tartare andtunadip were to die for! the tartare was so perfectly seasoned, while thetunadip was smoky and a great consistency. we also ordered the brusell sprouts and the chili chicken. both were good, but i wouldn’t order ether again.

we were thrilled with our food, service and overall experience at peche. our waitress heather was wonderful. she was friendly, helpful and extremely knowledgeable about the dishes and their ingredients and preparation. ask for her if you go. seafood is a favorite for both the mister and me, so we were excited to sample several wonderful dishes. we tried the smoked drum with potatoes and corn. it was wonderful. perfect for two to share. the drum had a perfect smoky flavor and it was plentiful in the dish. they smoke it there in house and feature it regularly in many of their specials. it includes a well-paired light dressing that does not diminish the other flavors as well as a delicious crunchy bread crumb topping. we also tried the smokedtunadip. i found it to be a bit too spicy, although i know many people enjoy the heat. thetunaalso has a great smoky flavor, just a bit too spicy for me. the featured seafood salad was absolutely perfect and perhaps my favorite dish. it included shrimp, tunaand avocado with an exceptional vinaigrette dressing and fresh herbs. the flavors were light and clean and tasted so perfect together. it is served with crispy, flatbread crackers that are also very good. what a perfect dish in new orleans on a hot summer day. and finally, we had the sheepshead. it's one of my favorite local fresh fishes and i knew immediately that i wanted it when i saw it on the menu. it did not disappoint! it was served with tomatoes, fresh greens, and crowder peas. it was a nice, ample portion for lunch. certainly plenty to share. the vegetables with the fish were just the right compliment. wonderfully seasoned and great flavors. the fish itself was cooked perfectly. it was moist and delicious. peche markets itself as a seafood grill and their skill was apparent in this dish. i also want to give a shout out to the wonderful, fresh cocktails that we enjoyed. the sandia sambia with local fresh watermelon and mint is outstanding. light and refreshing. the blue buffalo with fresh blueberries and lemon is also a great choice for bourbon lovers. thank you, peche, for a wonderful, memorable lunch. we look forward to a return visit!

came here on the recommendation of our friend, mark.  we initially had booked a res with luke but decided to come here instead.  what we ordered for the four of us: shrimp toast ($7) smokedtunadip ($7) fried bread w/ sea salt ($5) hushpuppies ($6) seafood gumbo ($9) crab & jalapeno capellini ($14) spicy ground shrimp & noodles ($12) we were wondering why fried bread was on the menu… we were obviously just being foolish.  we should know better than to question a chef who won a james beard award.  these were little balls of heaven! crispy, hot, and awesome. shrimp toast was a twist on what we expected.  the shrimp was fried together into one piece and placed on top of toast.  the texture reminded me asian shrimp balls on sugar cane sticks (anyone know what i’m talking about?)  it was good!  the pickles added the needed sweet/sour taste to cut the fat. smokedtunadip was good and came in a huge portion.  it did get a little overwhelming after a while but still good. we had to ask for more crackers to finish it up.  we think crackers were good but crispy bread would’ve been better. hushpuppies were okay.  make sure you dip it in the sauce. seafood gumbo.  kyle really liked this one. spicy ground shrimp & noodles (above) were so tasty!  noodles were cooked al dente.  sauce was incredible.  i wanted to slurp it up. the crab and jalapeno capellini looks bland but it is also equally fantastic! food:  we loved the food here.  this was my favorite meal!  notable dishes: pasta dishes were uh-mazing.  make sure you get the fried bread. ambience :  awesome, industrial-looking, yet charming space.  exposed wood beams and brick. high ceilings.  lots of natural light.  natural woods.

disappointed. i've been hearing great things of peche and have been looking forward to finally experiencing it. needless to say i am let down. nothing here was bad; however, there was nothing particularly good neither. we had the following with our thoughts of each:
the smokedtunadip - average; all we could taste was smoke and spice. there wasn't much flavor to this other than that
fish sticks - very well battered and fried; fish was amazing texture along with the batter; however, there was practically no flavor
hush puppies - good, but they're still just hush puppies
seafood gumbo - i liked it a lot but the wife not so much
corn/shrimp bisque - exact opposite, the wife liked it and i didn't
lamb skewer - clear winner of the group! was very good. tasted like a fine sausage. it just wasn't anything to make us say we are coming back or even that the food was worth the cost.

overall this isn't a bad place, but it's definitely not worth the price. if it were in the $5 app $10 entree range, we would probably go back. the problem is this is a high end restaurant with mid level food. i don't recommend it.

one of the special dishes for the night was the chilitunacrudo ($10). the tender fish was cut into thick squares and served sashimi style. to jazz it up, it was topped with chili oil, a lovely chili salt (which i wish there was more of) and diced crunchy jalapeño. all this may sound dominating but it was actually well balanced and didn’t overpower thetunaat all. pods of edamame added crunch and freshness to everything. overall, it was a decent dish.

another good dish was the smothered catfish ($16). two thick fillets were breaded and pan fried than smothered with a gumbo like gravy and served with rice. despite being smothered in sauce the dish wasn't too salty and had just the right amount of flavour. you do want to

best meal. we dined at four of the top restaurants in new orleans and peche was the best. love the rough hewn, exposed beams and overall atmosphere. we had thetunafor the appetizer -- excellent. i had delicious cobia and my husband had thetunaentree. was surprised that a restaurant called "fish" only had a couple of varieties of fish filets -- i'd rather not dig through bones for my supper. service was excellent.

loved it. ate dinner here in early january and really enjoyed the meal. had thetunaw/ oranges and criollo chiles which was really tasty. the crab-artichoke gratin was delicious. the smokedtunadip was ok, but quite salty so i doubt i'd order it again. we had the redfish with the salsa verde which was amazing, and i don't generally like fish. i found the salsa verde recipe they posted on nola.com so now i can make it myself. the chocolate-peanut butter-banana pie was pure awesomeness. definitely looking forward to returning to try some more items. only bad thing was that it was extremely loud in the restaurant.

i went here for a birthday dinner with some friends and the only thing i can say that i enjoyed was my company. first off we arrived before our scheduled reservation time of 8:30 and were not seated until 9:20. once sitting down it took our server approximately 10 minutes to get our drink order and another 15 minutes before we received them. the venue was bumping with music and had no noise softeners leading you to have to scream with your table companions. upon ordering we received our food quickly. however we had mixed feelings on our food with the winners being the rawtunaand the crab and artichoke croquettes. however, the catfish in the catfish and greens tasted dirty and the dark line was visible in every piece, the hushpuppies were dry and served with congealed looking sauce that looked as though it has been sitting under a heat lamp. the lamb kabobs and smashed potatoes were delish, but the beets were overly vinegary and i couldn't even taste them. the chicken diablo was uninspiring and the the shrimp were over cooked and inedible. overall there were few decent choices, however the poor service and lack of anything really making an impression would lead me to say that there are much better places in the city and i will not return or recommend this place to anyone.

another great restaurant by the donald link restaurant group has opened on the corner of magazine and julia streets in the warehouse district. this time, it is called peche and focuses on simple coastal seafood with a unique, modern approach. the restaurant showcases an open kitchen where diners can see the fire and seafood grilling in the back, an oyster bar serving fresh gulf seafood including oysters, crab meat, and fresh gulf fish and a large bar. the result is a very fresh seafood-oriented menu (although if you really want red meat there are a few options there as well). the decor is rustic seaside with exposed wooden beams throughout the open plan restaurant. one thing i noted while we were dining was the noise level. it was extremely loud. too loud. we had to shout to hear each other at dinner. our meal included many various dishes from the menu including oysters (both connecticut and gulf), frog legs, smokedtunadip, shrimp toast, and tuna

very good, a must try. we only had small plates and desert for lunch on our first visit. crawfish gratinee was excellent as were the day's oyster selections, which were reason enough to go.tuna& red wine dish was rather different , i enjoyed it more than my guest, who loved the catfish and greens. the pineapple rum cake (with dulce de leche ice cream) was a tad drier than i expected but very tasty.

excellent & friendly service. fairly priced.
