pawleys front porch

not what i expected. my wife and i went to pawley's this past weekend. when we got there, around 7:00, we expected to have to wait because it was beautiful outside and it was graduation weekend for the local university. we didn't mind the wait though because pawley's has agreatoutside bar on the deck.

upon entering the restaurant, and having to wait a good 5 minutes for the hostess to greet us, the hostess was extremely rude. she acted like she could care less about the customers coming through the door. once we were greeted we took our pager and went to the bar. after about 30 minutes we noticed that there were multiple clean tables outside and a few inside that noone was seated at. i went back to the hostess to check on how much longer we had and once again she was nowhere to be found.

finally, a server saw me waiting and came to help. she was extremely friendly even though i, along with others standing at the front, were clearly irritated that noone was sitting at the many open tables. she ended up sitting most of the tables herself, still with no help from the hostess, and made sure that my wife and i were seated in a timely manner as well. the restaurant was really busy as i said before but the girl at the front was inattentive, extremely rude, and could not do her job. i made sure to mention it to my server once i was seated. she made sure that we had an enjoyable experience and apologized for the hostess. we were very happy with our waitress and the food but found it difficult to get over how we were treated to begin with.

we will not be back to pawley's for a while. and when we do go back we hope to find someone that is competent enough to seat empty tables with a smile.

awesome!greatplace to have a drink or two.

i saw this place on triple d and wanted to give it a shot. not only was the the burger amazing quality and delicious there was also agreatatmosphere. the beer selection was good and there were plenty of unique burger combos. my only negative comment is that the sweet potato fries come with sugar and cinnamon on them. just not my style.

fun, relaxed atmosphere with a family friendly menu that puts a south carolina twist on its food. we tried several burgers, and they were all good. the porch is agreatplace to have a burger and a cold one. enjoy!

had lunch...good food andgreatbeer selection of locally brewed beers. also had the fried pickles and there was plenty to go around. enjoyed our visit and would definitely go again.

dined at the 5 points location.  food was average at best.  service was nearly absent.  burgers soundedgreatin the menu, but were disappointing on the plate.  onion rings were very salty.  would not eat there in the future.

great food, terrible service. the food was delicious! we had the fried green tomato app and i had the palmetto burger. i would definitely eat there again. unfortunately, our server was terrible, and i don't ever complain about service. i myself worked in the service industry for many years. she rolled her eyes at me at least twice when i asked her for something and ignored us basically the entire time. the only time she was actually nice, was when she brought us the check. it is the first time that i have not tipped a server 20% off the check. yes, it is important that the food taste great, butgreatcustomer service should also be a priority. all in all 4 out 5 stars for me!

such amaze fish tacos. decided to diverge from the usual burgers and had the mahi-mahi fish tacos. four and a half stars. i'd give them five stars if they started using a soft-fried corn tortilla instead of uncooked flour tortillas. otherwise excellent.

as always, service (this time from alex) was excellent.

good food,greatplace to hang with friends. casually grubby and fun. their wadlamaw burger is awesome. i always enjoy the not-often-enough trips to pawley's front porch.

our food arrived very quickly and the service, as always, was top notch.

great burgers andgreatcraft beers--just do it!

outstanding!! had caw caw creek burger, which was 8oz. of fresh ground sirloin, on a pretzel bun, topped with jalapeño pimento cheese, bacon and bread and butter green tomatoes(think sweet pickles). i had hand cut fries with mine, but tried the franks red hot onion rings from husbands plate, and they were delicious too! reallygreatburger, will return.

food isgreat, but robot service stinks . no personality ..... perpetually hungover and sad looking employees .

wow, get the caw caw creek sandwich one of the best sandwich i've ever had. and get yourself some onion rings also.greatprice!

i've had better at a much lesser price. we were hesitant to eat here because of the reviews but decided to try it because it was featured on diners drive inn and dives. watching the show and seeing that they ground their own meat from different high quality of cuts we were expecting agreatburger, however, we were so disappointed because the burger was dry. the onion rings were not good at all. the coating was very thick. not sure what seasoning they used but i didn't like it the french fries were skinny and there was nothing special about them i have had much better for such a lesser price. the service could have been better. maybe because they weren't busy our waitress thought going off and doing other things instead of taking care of the customers was ok.

no thanks. my wife loves this place but i strongly disagree with her. i've been here three or four times and have really tried to like it but the burgers are just unimpressive. they are larger, to be sure, but that just makes them impossible to eat. not really thatgreatof a selection of beer either.

burgers. burgers. burgers. if you likegreathand pattied "non frozen" burgers. you'll dig this place ! the burger combinations are a little different but interesting nonetheless.
