overrated. the burgers are not nearly as good as they were when they first opened. i don't know what happened but the beef is not good. better alternatives are: henry's, rockaway (still the best in columbia),burgertavern, backyard cafe.

ehh. been here twice. we went for the burgers which guy fieri suggested on his show. i've been to two places guy fieri "suggests" and neither was anything special.

my first trip i got a basicburgersince their claim to fame is the ground sirloin whatever they make the burgers out of. i added applewood bacon and gruyere cheese. it was a bigburgerbut nothing awesome about it. it was decent.

the fried oysters were awesome the first time i went. the second time they must have had a different cook.

second trip we tried the fried green tomato tower and i do not suggest it. the tomato was hard and instead of fried and green tomato going together the two components fell apart.

good service decent food, but there are way better options to try.

not too impressed. went there for lunch with my coworkers. they all ordered the burgers. i ordered fish tacos. the first taco was delicious. fish was fresh and nice slaw. the second one was horrible. the fish was so rank i had to spit it out. i sent it back and the manager did take it off my bill. i tasted my friend's burger. nothing really special. for a better quality of beef tryburgertavern 77 up on devine street. plus it's cleaner. pawley's used to be eclectic but it has deteriorated into a cluttered and dirty feel.

i saw this place on triple d and wanted to give it a shot. not only was the theburgeramazing quality and delicious there was also a great atmosphere. the beer selection was good and there were plenty of uniqueburgercombos. my only negative comment is that the sweet potato fries come with sugar and cinnamon on them. just not my style.

fun, relaxed atmosphere with a family friendly menu that puts a south carolina twist on its food. we tried several burgers, and they were all good. the porch is a great place to have aburgerand a cold one. enjoy!

ordered aburgermedium-rare and got it well done. fries over cooked and over seasoned to the point that i did not want to eat them.

burger was still good, but overall i feel like i overpaid for something subpar and felt rushed by the server. probably won’t be back.

one of the bestburgerplaces in cola. sometimes the service is shotty and the wait is long (avoid usc semester) but the food makes up for it. fried pickles are a must. definitely a place to visit when visiting usc or having friends from out of town.

from the service to the food everything was very quick. actually i was surprised the food arrived so quickly after we ordered. quick is one thing and thankfully the food was also very tasty. the salads were very large, burgerwas almost too big to eat and my shrimp tacos were quite good. beer selection was also varied with good choices no matter what type of beer you like.

as a bonus this place is so dog friendly they bring out a bowl of water for your dog.

almost ruined stay in columbia. my wife and i were in town briefly to visit congaree np and decided to try pawleys for dinner on our last night. the wait was interminably long for the quality of food that we received. my wife ordered a soda and i a beer, and then the server disappeared. about twenty minutes later, as i was about to have us get up and leave, she returned stating that the particular beer that i ordered was out and that they had been looking for a new keg -- fine, but let the patron know sooner instead of keeping them waiting. i ordered a different beer, an appetizer of fried pickles, and we each ordered aburger-- my wife's well-done and mine medium. the pickles were unremarkable and came out two minutes before our burgers. really? it's supposed to be an appetizer, not a side order. my wife'sburgerwas cooked as ordered and with her fries, her meal was, by all accounts, decent. myburgerwas not medium, but medium rare to rare and one bite, possibly raw. my fries were so ridiculously over-seasoned that they were inedible -- and i pride myself in having an iron stomach. the server was nowhere to be found so i could not complain and have the plate taken back -- so i plodded through the burger, leaving the fires untouched -- nor could i ask where my beer was. literally down to my final bite of burger, she finally returned with my beer. i refused it, as we were done and i was not going to spend any extra time in that place. the only good thing that the server was able to do all night was that she got the manager to waive the cost of the fried pickles to make up for me not getting a beer to drink with my meal. i voiced my concerns about the poor quality of my dinner and how one bite ofburgerbordered on raw and was met with indifference. we left and, if ever back in the area, will never return. stay away!!

wadmalaw burger. bestburgerin town possibly i've ever had. don't forget the chicken finger like onion rings.

-----25 jan, 2015-----

currently my #1 on the crusade. i'm currently on a crusade to find the bestburgeraround. the wadmalaw on a pretzel bun is currently at the top of my list as the bestburgerin town and possibly the best i've ever had. the mesh of ingredients, juicyness of the meat, the hint of sweet from the sauce... it all comes together perfectly. i strongly suggest the onion rings even if you hate onion rings. they are almost like chicken fingers and i like chicken fingers. some of the other awesome places that i've tried so far are 2108 state street in cayce (they are 2nd on the list), 77burgertavern, the whig, and british bulldog (tower of london burger), but in my opinion pawleys is still number one. and don't forget, half proceed burgers on tuesday at happy hour. i almost feel like a criminal after such a good meal for like 6 bucks.
... this is based strictly on the food. service and environment were fine to me.

the service was also great. i'll be going back next time i'm in town.

nothing special. our family tried this place today for the first and last time. the service was fast at first and then we seemed to be forgotten about after our food came. the burgers we had were nothing special. no one ate more than half the burgers. the kids didn't even eat their chicken strips. i make a betterburgerat home. it's way over priced for the quality.

such amaze fish tacos. decided to diverge from the usual burgers and had the mahi-mahi fish tacos. four and a half stars. i'd give them five stars if they started using a soft-fried corn tortilla instead of uncooked flour tortillas. otherwise excellent.

as always, service (this time from alex) was excellent.

good food, great place to hang with friends. casually grubby and fun. their wadlamawburgeris awesome. i always enjoy the not-often-enough trips to pawley's front porch.

our food arrived very quickly and the service, as always, was top notch.

pawley's front porch is the official meeting place of the ar-15.com south carolina hometown forum.

unless you're comfortable in a dive, don't go.. have been twice. the atmosphere is certainly divey but the food is first class. the first time i ordered the caw cawburgersubstituting the chicken breast for the hamburger. the chicken breast was large and cooked to perfection, and the pimento cheese (green!) was generous and delicious. my side of onion rings were crispy and tasty. we also ordered the fried pickles which were fine. my sister raved and raved over the fish tacos, so i ordered those on the second visit. sadly, i was not impressed. the mahi mahi was generous and good but the accompaniments were tasteless. the buffalo shrimp was too spicy for me, but that's a me problem. the service was just ok, nothing to write home about. we visited both times when u.s.c. was not in session and during an "off" hour, so i would be very nervous of the service at a busy time.
