went for lunch at the oyster bar today, a smallish compact restaurant with a great location overlooking the water. firstly there is no waiter service for ordering (really at these prices), one has to 'pub it' and order the drinks and food at the counter, and come back with one of those numbers on a stand. we ordered two salads from the specials menu, one salad came out first by 5-8 minutes, obviously kitchen cannot coordinate the prep and delivery of 2 salads simultaneously. mine was so so, it amounted to two slices of smoked salmon (bloodline included), divided on four slices of toasted baguette, on which was some cream cheese, with a garnish of chives....$16. is that value...would or could you pay that in melbourne.
