bloody mary oyster shots were great! couldn't help but feel this is a venue with a mixed up identity. is it a sports bar or a lounge bar? who is the target demographic? hipsters or people who need hip replacements? someone put on a st germaine cd please and kill the lights! a little bar with plenty of potential. i'll be back for the oysters if not the vibe.

hubby and i really enjoyed it here. small comfortable place with nice view, and great staff and food. it was a coolish night but with the heaters it was really comfortable. they also had the cricket on which pleased the hubby. we started with a dozen of thai and natural oysters and they were really nice and fresh (good time of year for them though). had a hearty dinner at the the grill next door then came back for the caviar, and thai oysters again- thai especially recommended if you like coriander, mint lime etc. also had a really nice evans and tate chardonnay. if you see this place and even have a small appetite, give it a go!

don't order the overpriced prawn and avocado salad. 6 prawns barely any avocado which initially they forgot .... waste of money. normally food is ok although overpriced . there is a bowl chips sitting on the table which they tried to remove 1/4 full.

normally lovely but recently terrible, won't go back. we have eaten here many times before and enjoyed the food but saturday will be for ever memorable for all the wrong reasons. you would think that exmouth prawns with asian dressing and slaw for $20 would be lovely but it was the worst taste we had ever had at a restaurant! definitely fake lime and some sort of commercial bought dressing with the lingering taste of fake garlic which all drowned out the taste of the prawns. it tasted like we'd had a swig of garlic infused vinegar with a lime cordial chaser and don't get me started on the dry cabbage that was supposed to be slaw! we ordered a dozen spinich mornay oysters, which were outstanding, but got 6 so we had to order 6 more and paid more for ordering 2 lots, not impressed.

beautiful :). great food , we ate here tonight , nice and relaxing location , great view , service top notch very polite , friendly , happy , nice people . we ordered soft shell crab with asian salad($20) and 6 oysters with smoked salmon and sour cream($17) , firstly the crab was beautifully cooked and well presented , came out nice and hot straight from the kitchen , very tasty and very enjoyable , the asian salad was delicious and freshly made to order . the oysters with smoke salmon and sour cream were beyond exceptation and just devine , we had to order another doz , ate them just as beautiful , had to order another dozen !! wow they were the best oysters we've had in years , this place is a winner :) enjoy :)

we choose the oyster bar for valentines day. ordered. fish and chips for me. dozen oyster and greek salad. glass of pepsi and sparkling wine. $84. dinner arrived. greek salad with no feta or olives. it was in fact very much like a packet of pew packed salad from coles with some dressing on top. oyster were ordered gluten free. they came out natural with a piece of smoked salmon on top. however they were warm and not at all well presented. mr fish and chips was very average with shoestring fries and a small piece of fish. batter was not one to go back for. me side salad looked exactly like the greek salad. the place was busy with couple music ok. however if you want to eat nice oyster i would defiantly not recommend this bar come restaurant.

another restaurant charging top dollar for ok food but zero service. the errol flynn at $32 for a mixed dozen - however don't ask for 6 of one style - you can only have 3 each of 4 different styles - the cash register can't handle anything else. when did business become about the cash register and not the service!

disappointed. we have dined at oyster bar regularly and normally are quite happy with the food. however, when its wrong, its very wrong!! we have had under cooked calamari and some disappointing oysters. but, we ordered seafood chowder advertised as fresh local produce. there was 1 prawn, straight from a can by the size of it, tiny bits of fish, a few bits of chopped vegetables and the rest was liquid, akin to camp bells canned cream soup. so disappointing!!! how can they serve this to tourists?? service is always great, view is perfect, but the food had certainly dropped in the past months. i won't even start on the chorizo plate. i used to look forward to dining at oyster bar, but it certainly isn't top of our list anymore, nowhere near it!

grilled not natural!!!. my girlfriend and i bought 3 plates of errol flynn oysters (2 grilled and 1 natural). the grilled oysters were absolutely delicious, the best every especially the spinach mornay. the natural ones however needed lots of work as they were barely stomachable and this is coming from someone who has readily eaten frog, dog and jelly fish. do not buy the natural oysters here!!!

beautiful location..... the location is spot on, so i took a group of friends from work for a lovely winter afternoon with food and drink catching up out of work.
as others have said the decor is simple, you order at the till and take your own drinks over, which i have no problem with but when spending $100s over an afternoon we would have expected the staff to be a little mo friendly and as a group who work within the law did not appreciate a member of staff making up fake laws and quoting laws wrongly to try and make his point.
lovely view but plenty of other bars nearby with nice views and nicer staff.

went there recently had a meal and purchased a bottle of (expensive) wine. an argument broke out nearby and the manager/owner came over and let the group stay. at that point we decided to leave. he then argued that i wasnt allowed to take the wine with me. after i informed him of the liquor licensing laws i left with the bottle ignoring the vulgar rant he went off on. will not be back

good!. we dropped in for sundowners on a wednesday late afternoon and managed to fill in a couple of lovely hours at the oyster bar in mandurah.
this place is pretty casual and doesn’t pretend to be otherwise. you place your orders at the counter and the waitstaff bring your food to you. you carry your own drinks. the furnishings are minimal, adequate and functional – ok for the general feel of the place. but you’re looking out onto the most gorgeous seascape so what goes on behind you doesn’t really matter that much.
the staff are friendly and responsive but i did find it strange that they don’t know where their oysters come from. the lovely bargirlie “thinks” they might be from coffin bay, or somewhere in south australia. she did assure me that they are fresh daily and shucked in fremantle. the drinks list is adequate and big willie was more than happy with the array of beers on offer – and all at a reasonable price.
we settle for the mixed dozen oysters - three each of au natural, kilpatrick, darleyfella (spinach mornay sort of thingie) and chilli and cheese.
personally, i would just have a dozen au natural, and the two i managed to get were fresh and flavoursome. it’s hard to tell what an oyster is like once you put toppings on them and then bake them, but these were not bad. the kilpatrick had an over abundance of worcester sauce and the “bacon” was small chunks – not thin and crispy as i would like. but big w really liked them. he did get a chewy one though but that tends to happen if you mess around and cook oysters.
might go back for the happy hour on friday evening and they have live music as well. while we were there we listened to an old beatles cd – it was ok, but it didn’t add anything to the feel of the place. i would have liked some chill out/lounge style music – cafe del mar mode.
all in all a lovely way to spend a couple of hours watching the sun go down with a chilled glass in hand. and the bonus - on wednesday evenings, there is a 30% discount off the entire bill! score!
