once upon a flame

i chose this place because of it’s 4.6 rating but the food did not match the rating.
weorderedbasil cottage cheese sticks, chicken mince burger and a rush of mush. i would say that the food was above average. there was absolutely no flavour of basil and hardly any seasoning in the basil cottage cheese sticks, the chicken mince burger was good but i won’t go back to this place just for the burger and lastly rush of mush was again average and it sure should not be a part of the steak section.

had a lot of expectations coming here - to have a good piece of steak. it really was bad. the sauce was okay, the cook on the meat was bad -ordereda medium rare but got something that needed some more time to be one. we hadordereda chicken steak as well, which was equally disappointing. no parking facilities. will not be returning here

the good thing about this place is it’s close to home and they have impeccable service. all points for service, however the food is just disappointing. the steaks are thin and chewy, desserts are ok. iordereda fish steak which was under in the centre. the owner is quite sweet though, he took the feedback graciously and insisted that we have a free dessert.

if i could have given this place 10 stars..i would have done it. this place deserves every praise. the food is really worth it with the prices not being sky high. on my day, the soup of the day was cream of spinach and let me tell you i was very apprehensive about it. but after i tasted it i was so happy iorderedit. we took a non veg platter and dishes of chicken, pork and beef. each one of them was superb. i will definitely revisit this place. thumbs up!

a very beautiful place amongst the chaos of hsr layout.
the ambience was perfect. the staff were very polite and courteous. and music that was played was just right for the occasion.

iorderedthe 'honey mustard pork' and 'the what's at steak chicken'.
both the dishes were very good, but the pork stood out. it was cooked to perfection. really good cuts of meat, great portions and such soft meat.
the chicken was cooked perfectly again, and the taste was very new. very unlike the convectional steak houses.

truly, this place must be the connoisseur of steak houses. a must try for all steak lovers.

although, i definitely feel that the taste of the rice can be improved.

all in all, have to say that this steak house must be one the best, if not the best in bangalore.

iorderedfew days back and again today. the cooking is the same. i choose medium well done today, but i don’t think anything followed. it’s just a chewy meat again. taste is ok. but not delivered as per the selected options.

my favourite place in hsr, when i want to have a good steak. we were a group of 4, andordereda penne alfredo supreme (seafood), what's at steak(chicken), the pork knight rises and the ho lee chow (pork steak). every single item was impressive, starting from the presentation, the quantity, and of course the taste.
what adds on, is nishant, the owner of the place, himself takes the order and provides suggestions on the food....expert advice.
would always keep coming back.

loved every bit of it..weorderedjack daniel chicken sizzler, shrimp in mushroom sauce , and fish fingers ..everything tasted super awesome..highly recommended..if you are a steak lover ,its a must visit..

my review is contrary to the popular opinion and maybe they were having a bad day. weordered2 steaks - pepper trail and chomp fest. both of them were quite average. the steaks were cold, the meat was not upto the mark and the sauces were very average. even the mocktails were pretty average for a place that's rated so well.

was highly impressed by their existing reviews and eye catching menu. the restaurant manager had also called to check if we received the food delivery. was immensely impressed till this stage.
portions sizes are pretty good but taste is pathetic. none of the items weorderedcame close to the description stated in the menu. shrimp steak was undercooked and rubbery. soup was full of cream and seemed stale. chicken steak was anything but steak - again, so creamy. pesto pasta was nothing close to the regular pesto pasta i have had in years - just pathetic. only the chicken starter (cajun spiced chicken strips) was decent which i would still only rate 3/5. utterly disappointed and spoiled the mood of the entire family on a saturday night. post eating the food, all of us have taken tables for acidity. sorry guys, but will never repeat - for the price that you guys are charging i was expecting authentic italian food but you failed miserably!

the caramel custard is a must try here.
available only during the weekends. do give it a try. the steaks are amazing as well. i recommend trying the jack daniels sauce if you don't like a hint of spice or the chilli garlic sauce if you like some spice. the sauces are made from scratch as you order. iorderedthe big steak theory and i didn't take any pics of it as i was busy digging into the steak enjoying every bit of it. it's clearly visible that for the owner this is not a business but his passion and you can see this translate onto the overall experience you have there. the staff are very courteous and i'm always guaranteed 5 star service. there has not been one time where i was given anything but a 5 star experience. i give this place a solid 5 star.

being really spoilt by the plethora of restaurants just 3km away in indiranagar, i don't generally explore restaurants that are further away. but i am so glad i made an exception to travel all the way to hsr for this place. when we reached the place, it looked a little underwhelming from the outside. but they say never judge a book by its cover. the vibe inside was really nice and peaceful with the lighting and retro music. the manager dude was also arguably the nicest person who's ever waited on me, always there to help and assist you with your choices. and that brings us to the food. weorderedthe garlic bread with herbs and cheese and it was undoubtedly the best garlic bread i have ever had!! the chicken strips and potato wedges were also really nice. for the mains we tried 4 steaks. in order of most amazing to just sorta amazing (yeah that's the base line for this place), it was the raging bull, captain jack's special (we tried the chicken), sin by fire and treasure chest. the mashed potatoes were also really nice and creamy. we topped it all off with a sizzling brownie dessert (not sure what it was called), thereby concluding a thoroughly satisfying meal. i would most definitely recommend this place to any meat lover (or just a food lover for that matter). can't wait to be here again!!

breaks my heart to write this review but i'll be completely honest about this order. at the onset, i'll say i've always loved the food here. we're regulars at the restaurant and have never been disappointed as the home delivery came as a shock.

the pesto pasta was spoiled, it smelled off as soon as we opened the box and i took a bite or two which was enough to cause a stomach upset within an hour of consuming. i'd eaten nothing else from outside so i'm quite certain it was the spoiled pasta. the order was for my child and i'm so glad i didn't give it to her.

the hash brown steak was good, rice portion a little small, sides of veggies and mash potato were saving grace, 2 chocolate mousse were complimentary and were nice.

the desi paneer steak was strictly ok, the paneer was chewy and not melt in the mouth and the gravy not worth commenting on.

the jd chicken steak, the chicken was very chewy and hard to bite.

mojito was fantastic. they're very good with their mojitos.

all in all, very disappointed and dissatisfying. i'dorderedfrom here for my husband's 40th and such a let down. i'd still go dine in but not order in again.

both pastas that weorderedwere really bland. pasta was not cooked properly. the chocolate milkshake was watery. waste of money.
