great food, friendly service. last week, my wife and i had two noodle bowls for lunch. thefoodwas really fresh, and according to the owner, she makes everything from scratch. the noodle bowl and the spring rolls were very tasty. the pork in the bowl was very good, succulent with a slight taste of maple syrup. however, they need to put a little bit more meat in the bowls. their menu is very limited and mostly focuses on canadian food, although their vietnamese options (like salad rolls) will expand in the future according to the owner. i found the owners very friendly and eager to please. this place is going to be one of my favourites since i work closeby and i can't stomach the vietnamese diner.

a friend and i went for lunch the other day thefoodwas great as well as the new look. it was a while since we have been here, next time won't be as long. i had fish & chips my friend had some kind of chicken sandwich, which all looked good. if your looking for friendly service and goodfoodi would give this place a try.

paid 8 bucks for 2 three and a half inch crappy chicken fingers and some decent fries. and had the cabbage borscht that was more like blech tasting babyfoodbetter suited for a seniors home for patients with out teeth. never again.

8 bucks worth of chicken fingers. if they had any less chicken fingers they would have to call it a finger and change the menu.

we had a weird experience at nellie's kitchen. the front door was propped open with a chair (in the winter) because the kitchen was filled with smoke. obviously this made it fairly cold and smokey at our table. the appetizers we ordered (cold rolls) arrived after we were done eating everything else. the vietnamese subs that they advertise and have a large sign with the prices on the wall are good but they charge you $3 extra to eat them in the restaurant and they do not show that on the sign. the service was slow and thefoodwas passed to us over the railing so that we had to hand it out ourselves.

thefoodwas good tasting, homemade perogies were great, good homemade soup, and nice subs, but i do not think that makes up for the service experience.

love this place. absolutely love this place. excellentfood(quantity and quality) , awesome prices, and great service. never disappointed with this place. highly recommend it

take a peek at the kitchen and then look down at the floor. once you see the kitchen, and then look down at the kitchen floor, you'll never want to be served anyfoodthat comes from here! wonder where the health inspectors are when you need them?

great food, friendly service. we had breakfast again today and it was prepared perfectly. thefoodwas excellent, lots to eat and the servers were very friendly as always.great place to go and eat

absolutely fantastic. have been there 5 times for breakfast, dessert and lunches. thefoodis amazing and the service is special and friendly. the pricing is excellent and the homemade pies are mouth watering. all round great place to go for a meal or dessert.

friendly, delicious. the best spring rolls i've ever had, hands down.
if saskatchewan is a friendly place, this place is a shining example. after only recently moving to saskatoon, this was a great introduction.
it may not be high class culinary food, but it tastes better than anything from the frozenfoodsection in the grocery store, it is freshly made, and the place is clean.
i look forward to returning.

i took my friend to nellie kitchen today. it was his first time ever going there and he really enjoyed it. thefoodwas really good and the staff was so friendly. over all a really great expreance and a must try for any one who loves good freshfoodp.s the apple pie is the best :d

tastey authenticfoodthat is friendly, affordable and fast. my first visit to nellies was truly a treat, as it surpassed my expectation of the quint little 'cafe' i had been overlooking for many years. i was welcomed by the owner who was genuinely friendly and hospitable beyond what i had anticipated the owner and head chef had time for. twee was a delight to meet and she took great care of us while managing the kitchen for all her guests. i watched as she made each person through the door feel very welcome.

my first visit i had one of twee s tasty variation of a simple classic sandwich. tuna salad. the sandwich was very tasty and the sides were both flavourful and beyond adequate in portion, especially for such a reasonable price. for desert my coffee was piping hot and my home made 'from scratch... no can' apple pie with extra ice cream 'because 'we' were sharing' (no charge)was perfection. as we were departing our gracious and honest host pointed to a poster of what was to be our next meal... vermicelli noodle bowls with spring rolls and your choice of meat.

this lead to my second visit when i discovered that twee was now making one of the best and freshest vermicelli noodle bowls in saskatoon... by far. i love these meals and so i have tried many in this city and they are all falling flat these days. most places are trying to shovel you full of noodles (cheap like borscht) and they do not give enough vegetables. twee prides herself in the quality and freshness of the vegetables served at nellies and the proof is in the noodle bowl. on this wonderful visit i explored saskatoon's tallest lemon meringue pie for desert and it was definitely 'worth the climb'.

since these first visits i have been enjoying nellies comfortable ambience, twee's hospitality, and the freshest and fullest noodle bowls in saskatoon... as well as fantastic 'no can' pies all in the great location in the middle of so many neighbourhoods.

i know restaurants... i've dined in the best of saskatoon, i know good when i see it... and nellies offers good in a casual, friendly authentic atmosphere. my only hope for nellies is that twee develops a permanent eastern section in the menu and not just make them the specials to a menu that is primarily western. she is a gifted cook and i'd like the opportunity to experience more of her cultural flavour combinations.

love it!. i go to nellie's all the time. the owner is super friendly and herfoodis great! she has the best spring rolls in town and she always remembers my sriracha sauce :-)

bland, mediocre food, weird spices....prices are reasonable. not enough to ever get me back though.

spoke to the new owner, she sez she bought it 3 months ago, so she ain't nellie, the place looks ok compared to previous reviews butfoodlacks.

cute place cheap eats. its definetly not in the nicest area of the city and the restaurant is not much to look at but thefoodis prepared well and priced very moderate. the owners are very nice as well! i ordered the grilled ham and cheese with fries and gravy. next time i go ill order breakfast!! apparently its really good!

comfortfoodand more comfort food. i went it on suggestion of a friend - ordered the burger (very homemade and delicious) and borcht. it was fantastic and i didn't have room for the pie, but ordered it anyways - lemon meringue that was clearly not from a box. wow. decor a bit iffy, and the bathrooms were creepy (there was a bucket for the sink to drain into!) but well made up for by kickass food.
