one of the best. we have enjoyed many excellent meals here. the newly renovated restaurant makes a very nice place to relax and enjoy a good meal. would highly recommend the noodle bowl and fish to name but a few, we have never been disappointed. we have always been treated with friendly and courteous service. the pie is one of the best around.

i've gone to nellies quite a few times. it is very good every time, great service very friendly people. great homemade meals and pie! love it

i don't understand why they add $3 extra to eat the vietnamese subs inside the restaurant. it wasn't the best sub i've had. the bread was hard. the chicken was just okay. one of my friend had the chicken noodle bowl and said there were lots of meat and they enjoyed it. the service was excellent!

great food, friendly service. last week, my wife and i had two noodle bowls for lunch. the food was really fresh, and according to the owner, she makes everything from scratch. the noodle bowl and the spring rolls were very tasty. the pork in the bowl was very good, succulent with a slight taste of maple syrup. however, they need to put a little bit more meat in the bowls. their menu is very limited and mostly focuses on canadian food, although their vietnamese options (like salad rolls) will expand in the future according to the owner. i found the owners very friendly and eager to please. this place is going to be one of my favourites since i work closeby and i can't stomach the vietnamese diner.

very nice friendly atmosphere! delicious home made pies unlike most local restaurants. we will return for the full meal deal as we only enjoyed dessert today. looking forward to the cupcakes coming soon!!

run by an asian couple, that seem to have befriended many residents. it looks well looked after and they are fairly attentive with customer service and coffee refills, modest prices and willing to make breakfast items late in the day.

a friend and i went for lunch the other day the food was great as well as the new look. it was a while since we have been here, next time won't be as long. i had fish & chips my friend had some kind of chicken sandwich, which all looked good. if your looking for friendly service and good food i would give this place a try.

paid 8 bucks for 2 three and a half inch crappy chicken fingers and some decent fries. and had the cabbage borscht that was more like blech tasting baby food better suited for a seniors home for patients with out teeth. never again.

8 bucks worth of chicken fingers. if they had any less chicken fingers they would have to call it a finger and change the menu.

i miss the old owners of nellie’s kitchen. the new owners upped the prices for the food, the service is definitely not as friendly as it was before covid. also the hours have changed, i pulled up at 3:02 on a tuesday and they were closed. that’s disappointing that a place closes mid day one day a week but is opened later all other days. i just wanted to sneak in and snag an overpriced coconut pie but couldn’t at 3:02 pm. it’s a shame that the new owners aren’t even close to being as impeccable as the last ones.

really fresh and affordable breakfast. ordered the "hungry man" which consisted of pancakes, toast, sausage, eggs and hash browns. sausage patty was homemade and very tasty! i definitely recommend!

went there last week with my friend to try the vietnamese subs. they told us that if we wanted to eat the subs there then they'd charge us an extra $3 (each person) to sit in the restaurant. we thought that charge was really strange so we got our subs to-go. i got the assorted sub and it was the worst vietnamese sub i've ever had! ive had many vietnamese subs from all over canada and vietnam and none of them were as disgusting as at nellies. they put a few pieces of meat in it and barely any veggies. the sub was mostly bread. the sub has a strange taste to it like the meat was going bad. i couldn't finish the sub. waste of money.

we had a weird experience at nellie's kitchen. the front door was propped open with a chair (in the winter) because the kitchen was filled with smoke. obviously this made it fairly cold and smokey at our table. the appetizers we ordered (cold rolls) arrived after we were done eating everything else. the vietnamese subs that they advertise and have a large sign with the prices on the wall are good but they charge you $3 extra to eat them in the restaurant and they do not show that on the sign. the service was slow and the food was passed to us over the railing so that we had to hand it out ourselves.

the food was good tasting, homemade perogies were great, good homemade soup, and nice subs, but i do not think that makes up for the service experience.

i've been here in past and was always happy with the service. recently tried their new buhn mi sandwiches and it was quite good. the flavor was good but the bun wasn't the best i've had for a buhn mi. great price though.

came here for a quick lunch. wasn't sure what to expect. the menu had more than ample selection for me. homemade soup was absolutely amazing. i had the denver sandwich, as well. wow! the best one by far that i've ever had. it had to be at 10 cm thick. well prepared and presented, definitely not slapped together carelessly. it came with fries but i asked if i could try their home hand cut hash browns, instead. no problem. they were as delicious as all else. very pleasant surprise. i'll definitely be back on any future stops through saskatoon.

their beet borscht was good, their pie is awesome and their breakfast is basic but delicious. i like the small diner feel and that you can tell it's run by a family.
