favorite restaurant. munchies has the best pig outfoodin town. i've been going for 5 years and never had a bad sandwich. the fat daddy, sandy, dickie, and faf are definitely worth the money, and the wait. the dank nugs are the best appetizer in sarasota. the only downfall to munchies is the semi-long hold time when placing an order to go. for all the people complaining about seating...go outside where there are picnic tables and pig out. for people complaining about service; treat the staff with respect and they will do the same in return. btw, fire in your hole challenge is insane.

met the owner, i was imbarrassed for him. pathetic is being nice. what a hole, couldn't sit and enjoy my meal because of all the pot smoke and mosquitoes, kinda gladfoodwas subpar.

much overhyped severely overrated! simply gross! a total dud that trades on being “cool” but churns outfoodthat looks and tastes like sh*t! this all from a guy who loves lowbrowfood& places.

i don't review much but this place deserves my first bad one.i have ate here late at night for 23 years and thefoodis average for late nightfoodbut the service is the cooks are the worst in sarasota . if you ask for a well done hamburger or extra "burnt" wings 70% of the time they are barely cooked at all. if you ask them to recook them and wait, half the time the come out the same way. i'm done ordering from there. i will go to waffle house or dennys late at night.

this place is horrible and dirty. the staff have bad attitudes and thefoodwas so bad i thought i was going to get sick. very, very bad expierence!!!!!!!!!!!

if i was drunk, this would cure a hang over. if your buzzed or sober do jot attempt. the menu is awesome, the quality is not. if you eat in, thefoodis packaged to go. this is a hard subject for us as we try not to create a lot of waste.... but again if drunk, thefoodis for you!

better than i expected. after reading the other mostly older reviews i expected slow service. i walked in, went over to a table and watched who i assumed was my server talk to the bartender for several minutes and then leave the room. after waiting too long due to how i read the other reviews, i finally found my way to the counter where you need to place your order for food. the person i thought was my server was afoodrunner. don’t make my mistake, make your way to where the order here/pay here sign hangs.

so, it turned out service wasn’t so bad, i was just suffering from first visit confusion. the person who took my order said it would take about 15 minutes and that was about how long it took before she brought thefoodout to me. as long as i know it will take a little longer than i would expect when i place my order, i’m ok.

i ordered something called fat mike, listed as two cheeseburgers with some toppings. again i assumed wrong and thought what they really meant was two patties on a cheeseburger. boy was i surprised when it came out looking like a monster burrito, a hefty cylinder offoodwrapped in foil. i decided against trying to tackle it at the restaurant, i’d already spent too much time at munchies, so i took it home. it was a large and messy to eat sandwich, and in hindsight i should have eaten it like a burrito by unwrapping it as i ate. each half of this sandwich was in effect a cheeseburger. aside from having potato pieces inside my sandwich, i thought it was very good, and much morefoodthan i needed tonight.

it was early when i stopped in, at least early munchies time, and was not very busy. this is not a bright shiny place, more like a dark older establishment where much of the lighting came from the tvs and some christmas lights. i was inside but there is much more seating outside and in what looked like a tiki bar. to me, munchies seemed more like a bar withfoodinstead of a restaurant with drinks, but they also seemed to do a healthy takeout business, so perhapsfoodis their main purpose. either way, it was an interesting visit and better than i expected.

don't go if you havefoodallergies. i have a severe allergy to onions which i told the woman when ordering, verifying that the burger had no onions on it. it took over 40 minutes to get our order which wasn't prepared until i went back up to the counter to ask for our food. i had a couple of bites of burger when i stopped breathing.

when we went back to let the manager know that they needed to takefoodallergies seriously, she obviously didn't think it was a serious issue nor would she let us talk to the owner.

i will never go back and recommend that you avoid this establishment also.

really fun. went there to see what changes they have made since the early days when there was no place to sit and it was just a hole in the wall. now it has two bars and a tiki outside like i never saw before.foodstill great and they added more munchie items. i recommend going...yes you wait for thefoodbut its not take out and they make everything to order. based on the crowds it appears to be more popular than ever.

they are great!! but they need to get it together in some areas.. i have been to munchies several times now and i'm a huge fan. it's true that thefoodtakes little long, but that's because of the amount offoodthat you receive with your meal is enormous. however the last time i dined with them i wasn't as impressed as i was with the previous occurrences. i stood in front of the register ready to order while the employee at the register was on the phone, with who i could only assume to be the owner of the place, discussing the problems that were currently happening right in front of customers. it was just a slight inconvenience to me, but nothing that would cause me to never return to munchies. they could really use more merchandise in the store because they didn't have a single item, (*shirts, rolling papers, etc.) that i asked for. also i'm a little dumbfounded on how the bartenders are supposed to make a decent amount of money a shift without having the benefits of being able to servefoodat the bar.

get ready to wait loooong to order and to get your food. three of us went on a weekday evening and waited well over an hour to get outlet food. there were only 4 other people in the restaurant before us. i believe they had a lot of to go orders but still, 1 hr is waaay too long.

thefoodwas good and filling but i wouldn't say it was fingerlicking good.

don't go. worst experience ever. ordered food. took 45 minutes, get it home and it's wrong. call to let them know they say i'm lying. then say come back and get correct order. get all the way back and they say they want thefoodthey made wrong retuned. unbelievable i spend over 50 bucks and they act like i'm trying to scam food. i go all the way home to get all thefooddrive back. this is now nearly 2 hours from ordering. i tell them keep thefoodand just give me a refund. after 15 to 20 minutes of arguing they do refund part of the money, but not all. worst experiance ever. lots of other places go somewhere else!

this place had such a long wait the place is dirty and nasty it seemed like the place was made in 1456 thefoodis also nasty they say they have fries on their sandwiches but i only had one greesy fry

horrible service, food, and prices. very greasy, cheap qualityfoodthat they take over an hour to make. not to mention overpriced. the customer services is horrible, and they're most likely going to argue with you as opposed to talking with you. the restauraunt itself is the smallest i've been in, and is very unclean. simply horrible - i do not recommend going here to anyone. such a shame because the business has a good gimmick, if only the owners cared. for those of you giving such positive reviews - you must be stoned.

awful place. this place was honestly..awful. i went with a group of friends because they had seen it on man vs food. let me tell you, the place looks dirty, there are barely any places to sit, the wait time for us was an hour long and one of our friends had to wait even longer. the bathrooms are in the back of the place, you have to walk around the building into an alley and then you find their bathrooms which are dirty and rigged weird, one of the doors was held by a bungee cord..come on. i mean, you'd think with all the money and hype this place gets that they'd hire more people and fix the place but damn, this place is awful. thefoodwas also mediocre. it was likefoodyou eat at a carnival or something. the only plus to this place is that its open so late, other than that you might as well eat at mcdonalds, because theres nothing special about munchies.
