mud brick vineyard and restaurant is in the most beautiful location. the atmosphere is to die for! i've been here for late night wines with my partner and we would have tried everything on the menu (they all sounded amazing) if we hadn't of eaten already. their wine is perfection! ahhhh!

such an incredible dining experience at mudbrick! location is stunning with vineyard valleys and auckland city views in the distance. the vineyard grounds itself is like a painting with formal english gardens and main buildings liken to countryside villas. make sure you reserve a table by the window to enjoy the views, and on a clear day the bifold doors are opened so you can enjoy the scenery while dining. make your bookings well in advance before making your journey to waiheke island.

service is immaculate with waiters knowledgeable with the menu detailing each dish we ordered as they laid the plates in front of us. my eyes lit up at my hay cooked lamb loin; cooked to medium rare only with broccoli purée, oyster mushrooms, raisins and macadamia nuts. the lamb was succulent and sweet and the buttery crust made it even more delectable! 👌 it paired beautifully with the suggested wine, mudbrick's cabernet sauvignon merlot malbec.

we couldn't leave without trying their desserts and the mudbrick velvet meets valrhona chocolate caught my eye, mostly because of the cassis red wine icecream! the tanginess of the blackcurrent paired well with the rich chocolate mousse.

if i'm ever back in auckland, i will surely be making my way here!

we spent a really lovely afternoon at mudbrick, and the staff really made it a wonderful experience. we came in via heli which was a very easy experience and were met and welcomed by a member of the waitstaff on the lawn to the side of the restaurant- she was lovely and very relaxed but ultimately very professional, as were the rest of the staff we encountered.

the degustation menu was pretty exquisite, as were the recommended wine pairings. gorgeous view, lovely wine, impeccable service... there's not really much more you can wish for.

highly recommend, and hope to be back soon.

we came by for oysters when we were visiting waiheke island.

we chose outside seating because it was a really good day. a bird ended up joining us and i've included the photo haha

the place was wonderful except their outdoor bathroom facilities. it was quite old which made it appear much dirtier than it was.

came here for my 20th birthday & we both got the beef eye fillet (medium rare) as our mains & got focaccia bread and fries for or appetiser/ side. firstly, the beef eye fillet was cooked perfectly as we both ordered it medium rare, the juus is not too watery but not salty, and the beef itself is super tender & fresh. next, the focaccia bread is a must here! - i’m not a big fan of ordering bread at restaurants but would go back to waiheke just to eat the bread here haha.
lastly, we ordered dessert as well but i forgot the name of it - the staff were kind enough to light a candle for me & also write happy birthday on my dessert which was very kind of them.
staff were all super friendly & customer service was 10/10
will be back sometime soon!

like many of the vineyards on waiheke, cool place and stunning views, but this place is a notch above the rest. had a fantastic late dinner here with friends and a few bottles of nice pinot noir on a rainy sunday - we were late and they basically kept it open for us. had the beef eye fillet, nice and tender, perfectly cooked. spent a fair bit, not cheap, but worth the experience when on waiheke...

was really excited to come back to dine here. however it was just not on par. food took a long time to come and when it did, felt like it has been left out for a long time (soggy cold croquette). strange mix of flavours. also for the course meals, sometimes the waiter would just throw it on the table and walk off. so we would have no idea what we were eating. i understand given covid times, things can be a bit different so i hope they do improve again.

beautiful views! the beef tataki was a mix of flavours that went perfectly together! the truffle butter was great. the tempura oyster condiments were a bit odd and bit too sour. the lamb was okay. we stayed to watch the sunset!

wonderful highlight of my waiheke trip. had the 7 course degustation dinner, which was beautiful, mostly a hit, and well explained by staff. service, quality food and sunset view to die for. good value for money? hell no. but definitely a dining experience to remember.

a sarcastic, rude staff member spoiled a birthday dinner for two. i was wowed by the beautiful setting, we had two wait staff who were kind and attentive. the food was wonderful. it was all going so well. i ordered a chocolate dessert. my partner was feeling a little too warm as the wall heaters and the fire were all on and so we decided to move across to another table . our taxi was due in a few minutes and so i thought it would be nice to finish off our time with a few minutes sitting by the fire with my dessert. a blonde lady who hadn't been serving us up to that point was then rude and sarcastic to us which was completely uncalled for and spoilt our experience. she said it was a good job we weren't in lock down or they'd have another table to clean. my partner tried to explain we moved because it was a little to hot at our table. by this time we were by the fire about to start my dessert. my partner asked her to leave the fire as i was enjoying it (and we were about to leave anyway). she ignored my partner, deliberately turned off the fire and said 'we can't have you getting overheated now can we'. mmmm pretty sarcastic and rude! we spent alot of money for a great dining experience. we were polite but for some reason she was not. she spoilt a wonderful birthday afternoon. i will be telling everyone i know about our poor experience. i would not recommend !

came here for my birthday lunch - perfect place to celebrate a special occasion! i expected the portions to be small but they were very generous, my partner and i shared the lamb and still could not finish it. taste and ambience both 10/10, would love to come back!

delicious food served in a beautiful instagrammable vineyard/country settings. very expensive though. recommend to pair with their wines to enhance the flavors of the food.
