mudbrick vineyard & restaurant

we came by for oysters when we were visiting waiheke island.

we chose outside seating because it was a reallygoodday. a bird ended up joining us and i've included the photo haha

the place was wonderful except their outdoor bathroom facilities. it was quite old which made it appear much dirtier than it was.

wonderful highlight of my waiheke trip. had the 7 course degustation dinner, which was beautiful, mostly a hit, and well explained by staff. service, quality food and sunset view to die for.goodvalue for money? hell no. but definitely a dining experience to remember.

a sarcastic, rude staff member spoiled a birthday dinner for two. i was wowed by the beautiful setting, we had two wait staff who were kind and attentive. the food was wonderful. it was all going so well. i ordered a chocolate dessert. my partner was feeling a little too warm as the wall heaters and the fire were all on and so we decided to move across to another table . our taxi was due in a few minutes and so i thought it would be nice to finish off our time with a few minutes sitting by the fire with my dessert. a blonde lady who hadn't been serving us up to that point was then rude and sarcastic to us which was completely uncalled for and spoilt our experience. she said it was agoodjob we weren't in lock down or they'd have another table to clean. my partner tried to explain we moved because it was a little to hot at our table. by this time we were by the fire about to start my dessert. my partner asked her to leave the fire as i was enjoying it (and we were about to leave anyway). she ignored my partner, deliberately turned off the fire and said 'we can't have you getting overheated now can we'. mmmm pretty sarcastic and rude! we spent alot of money for a great dining experience. we were polite but for some reason she was not. she spoilt a wonderful birthday afternoon. i will be telling everyone i know about our poor experience. i would not recommend !

we had the full degustation menu with wine pairing. the food wasgoodand the wine pairings were on point, but we can not justify the price given it was $190 per person.

the full degustation menu can’t be faulted, but the food does not stand out compared to other cheaper fine dining options in auckland cbd. the wine pairing was good, and i think it was definitely worth the money there.

while the view was magnificent, we were seated near the chimney at the back and the wind kept blowing ash onto our table. this really isn’t acceptable for the price that is being charged.

we paid $570 for a family of three for an “above average” fine dining experience with excellent wine pairing and “above average” ambience. in other words, it wasn’t worth the money, but overall my family had a great time.

this is the most beautiful restaurant and vineyard ever. we came here during the day for the cellar door wine tasting, that was a fun experience and we were able to see the beautiful vineyard. we came back another night for dinner at the main restaurant and the setting was magical and romantic, i can see why it is so popular with weddings here. my steak and matching wine was delicious, and the only way i can describe my olive themed dessert was interesting. the staff were friendly and we had agooddate night indeed.

the ambience is very very nice, especially if you plan to have dinner here and watch sunset with that somebody. service is just ok as staff are quite cold in my opinion. food isgoodbut nothing stands out. price of course reflects the fine dinning standard of the restaurant. i may come back if i need somewhere romantic for special occasions.

food is notgoodenough for a fine dining. team is not nice in welcoming and serving rather not to mention rude waitress when taking order and serving wine to us. not a pleasant experience after all.

do not come hungry as you are going to be waiting a incredibly long time to recieve any of your dishes. do not expect the food to tastegoodas they clearly dont care about flavour and rather put things on the plate for no other reason than appearance. the maitre d forgot one of our orders and is response was "oh do you want it?". a common excuse from a terrible waiter as if to blame it on a customer because he and his team forgot about it. expect a disappointment towards the food and especially the service from a place with agoodlocation.

i dined at the mudbrick restaurant on friday, it was so beautiful! my partner and i both started with cocktails outside which were absolutely delicious. we were then escorted inside to our table right up the front overlooking the harbour by our lovely server. we sat down and had a look at the wine list. our server was so attentive and knowledgeable about the mudbrick wines and we went with his recommendation to try the mudbrick reserve chardonnay and it was absolutely to die for and went so well with our meals. i highly recommend the taste of the hauraki gulf as an entree it is a dish inspired by the sea life that you look out to from the view at your table. i also got the fish of the day for a main and it was also full of flavour and had agoodcrunch/freshness ratio. would recommend to anyone after a sensory experience as it tastes asgoodas it looks at mudbrick!

the reviews we write are our (subjective) opinion based on that day’s experience, so obviously can vary greatly depending on staffing/food etc on the particular day. 

ate here with 3 couples.  staff were friendly and attentive.  food wasgood(although why are there never enough crackers provided on cheese platters??  come on people, get your cracker to topping ratio right!)  beautiful setting, would recommend.

we came here to celebrate our first anniversary, place wasgoodwith superb panoramic views of water and skyline. wine wasgoodbut food isn’t that great, very poor choice of menu. service was of top notch. ambience is amazing, come during sunset to witness breathtaking views. sowmya rahul

fell for its nice open ambience with a beautiful hill top view!
plus they have verygoodcollection of inhouse wine collection! one should go to experience their classy ambience.

heard of this village for a long time, finally got a chance to get here.
we reserved a table by the window and were amazed by the view. we ordered a glass of white wine, it's fantastic and probably be the best wine i had. the food is all good, though a bit salty. we all enjoyed that much.
the one impressed us most is the red wine ice cream. it had the special taste we hadn't experienced before. superb!
service wasgoodand will come here next time!

came here for a friends wedding. this place is beautiful, and the food is absolutely delicious.

not a wine drinker, but my mates all really enjoyed the drinks and had no complaints. will need to revisit this place for a proper dining experience, but it's definitely left a verygoodimpression for the time being.
