this is how themasaladosa looked... the taste was good every other time i went there... but this time the waiter was rude and was pathetic piece of shit... with shit load of attitude ... when i told them that the taste was horrible ... they said that’s how we cook....and then i got the bill... i went to the person sitting at the counter expecting him to address the issue... that person was more than dead... one horrendous experience made me never want to visit mtr again... all that you put on the walls try and implement it... when you charade a premium for food... and your waiters don’t have the courtesy or etiquette’s to talk to the customer.. the person behind the counter was terrible who was literally dead looked like he didn’t know how to speak at all..... hotel management skills i would say 0... taste that day -5 no human could eat that... learn something from pai tiffins or woodlands!!! and when i even wrote this incident on their website... i was never confronted by them about the issue... i remember this incident even after 2-3 months imagine the experience i had...

honestly this is no where near to mtr bangalore. yes it's the same franchise but so many things can be improved.
ordered ravamasaladosa and coffee. coffee was pretty decent but the potato bhaji inmasaladosa was cold. guess it was prepared early morning.
such a disappointment. service is quick enough.

mtr needs no introduction, it's a legendary restaurant in bengaluru. so i was very excited to visit their outlet in udupi. we visited mtr for dinner, as expected it's jam packed. we ordered rava idli, ravamasaladosa, bisi bele bath and filter coffee. they serve small cup of ghee with every dish you order. i really loved that fluffy rava idli and that golden crispy ravamasaladosa. bisi bele bath was really amazing and filter coffee was perfect. ambience of this place is amazing and service was quick. i read the story of invention of rava idli and the reason behind it, which is interesting. i am really looking forward to visit their original establishment in bengaluru.

want to have authentic south indian food? mtr is the place to go! try any of their dosas and you are surely falling in love ❤️ i've had rawa plain dosa, rawamasaladosa etc and all were done beautifully. they give their dosas with green mint chutney, sambhar and desi ghee. their rawa idli is also great and filter coffee is amongst the best. if you want a good night's sleep, then order their badam milk. it is so flavourful and heavy at the same time, that you're surely getting the best sleep at night after savouring it. overall, mtr is my favourite place in manipal/udupi.

must try: ravamasaladosa and filter coffee

mtr also known as mavalli tiffin room is one of the best places in and around udupi to get a dosa. they have a long history of the restaurant which is decorated on their walls.

they use authentic ghee in almost all their products which requires oil and provides you with a very small sample of ghee along with your dish so as for you to authenticate the type of ghee they are using to cook their dishes.

all of their south indian dishes are mouth watering specially everything with rava. their sambar has a unique taste of it's own which you can't forget and their chutney being a very thick paste of coconut and spices.

this restaurant is a little pricey as you can tell that their dosa are around 90 rs each and one cup of tea is 30 rs.
but believe me when i say that it's worth every paisa you will be spending over here.

they are very uptight about cleanliness and there is a high chance that whenever you visit, you will find one person brooming the floor. don't get me wrong, this is an amazing quality for a restaurant as it provides you with an insight on their hygienic levels.

toilets in the restaurant is also very clean and hygienic. this restaurant seems to be a part of a hotel which you can see right behind me, but caters to the tourists more often than just hotel guests.

did not know there was an mtr outside bangalore.
ordered the meal and was impressed with everything that came with it. the poori’s were soft. the masaladosa was just like it is supposed to be.
the payasam and date desert was good.
on the whole it was awesome & satisfying meal.

we ordered special thali, which can't be shared as well as not worth for the money given. but, roastedmasaladosa and curd vada were fresh & flavorful. only limited items are available, thus if you are planning to taste varieties, then it is not preferred.

i have tried almost everything on the menu.masaladosa , rawa idly are must try. even chandrahara which they make on sunday only is good. unlimited tiffin is good too .
tips: never drink the welcome drinks they give with unlimited meals .it will be very very sweet and kills the hunger
