food was just meh! don't waste your time or money.. had read good reviews about mia's and wanted to try it. that was my first mistake. the food was just okay. actually, it was so bad i couldn't even finish it. but the prices weren't too high, and i thought that the meal was okay for the price, but i wouldn't return. there are so many other good tex-mex/mex restaurants in dallas that i didn't need to go back to a mediocre place. my second mistake was to hesitate just outside the front door while waiting for the valet to bring my car. unbelievably, my friend and i were deluged with water. we were both soaked head to toe. the valet started laughing at us. we were astonished. his english was not good, so we weren't sure where the water came from. it seemed as if it was a/c runoff. one thing for sure was that it had happened to other people before. the management, when told about this, said it was an accident. they offered no apology. they offered no complementary meal. they pretty much blamed us for standing there. i told them that they had lost a customer because of it. they didn't care. apparently, it happens there frequently. so if you go to this restaurant, please be aware that they are not customer friendly. they have allowed a consistent problem to persist, and on something that would be an easy fix. and their food is meh. so, my recommendation, skip mia's. you can get good briskettacoselsewhere. but if you do try it, be prepared to possibly be soaked with gross water if you stand outside of the door.

our party of 3 enjoyed very much enjoyed mia's. good/fresh chips and salsa, tacosand enchiladas! restaurant is fairly small/cozy but we were seated after a brief wait and service as responsive and cordial. this was our 5th time at mia's and it continues to be a very good / steady choice.

average at best. seems like food has gone downhill...had the roast beeftacos(menu said "brisket" tacos" )....no taste at all. chips and sauce always good, wife had very average enchiladas...after many years, we will be saying adios to mia's.

good food, good atmosphere. wouldn't say it's the greatest mexican food around, but it is definitely worth trying. really good food, great atmosphere, good service and lots of "celebrity pictures" on the wall, which i guess is supposed to validate the reasons you are there. definitely a good time and well worth it. totally enjoyed the nachos and cold beer. tried their "skinny" margarita which was supposed to be made up of tequila, lime juice, and grand marnier. wrong. the waitress couldn't exactly describe what tasted so sweet in the drink, so we sent it back and had the beers instead. one of these days i'll order the brisket tacos. definitely recommend this place!

lukewarm reception. i have the same feeling towards mia's as the hostess, manager and waitress took towards our group- lukewarm

food: all ingredients, including the seafood, was fresh, the vegetables were crisp and the tortillas had a great buttery flavor. the draw back was the lack of seasoning. but i'm a fan of the chips and spicy salsa. the briskettacosget a lot of hype too. and the prices are fairly decent for dinner with some great lunch times deals at around $5.

service: again, not the warmest reception, but more importantly, the server made a couple of mistakes, including an important dietary substitution.

atmosphere: typical mexican restaurant decor- sombreros pinned to the wall, 5 different paint colors, sticky vinyl floral tablecloths. the restaurant is relatively small but there's also a fairly large, enclosed patio with heaters.

reservations- yes. but all in your party must be present to be seated- even if the restaurant is half empty. however, unless you have a large party, a reservation is probably not needed. even at peak lunch hour there were open tables.

parking: small lot that fills up fast. there's a "complimentary" valet.

my favorite tex-mex. love love love it! love the bean soup, the barbacoatacosand enchiladas, and the chicken enchiladas. the margaritas are delish and strong, just the way they should be when paired with tex-mex. what i love the most, is the ambiance and music. it reminds me of growing up. most other mexican or tex-mex restaurants play salsa or spanish rock. its nice to hear tejano music while eating real tex-mex food!!!!!

zakkstacosare fabulous.tacosal carbon also. fabulous all the way around. mad for 2 reasons: 1) didn't find this place sooner, and 2) will have to drive 30 mins for tex mex cause nothing else can rate.
