i discovered mia's over three decades ago, when it was first located in a small store front on lemmon avenue. the word spread, and the need for more tables brought the restaurant to the current location.

over the years, mia's family members and employees have started other restaurants, including, mi cocina's, taco diner, mesero's and manny's, but the catalyst for all these, is this colorful restaurant on lemmon avenue!

so manygreatdishes, including the brisket tacos, enchiladas and a number of specialties. but i decided that on a cold night, i needed my comfort dish, sunset chicken enchiladas, with ranchero beans.

...and so i returned to mia's and discovered a new dish!   camarones a la diabla is one amazing dish, with some fire from the devil to make it interesting.  shrimp in 'chile de arbol' sauce, with sauteed vegetables and white rice.   definitely a spicy dish, but the vegetables and rice kept things anchored in this world.  glenn almack

i was excited about my meal i forgot to take a picture of it 🤣. my bride and i dined with our daughter and it was delicious! the gals enjoyed enchiladas and i enjoyed stake & sausages fajitas (maybe the best i’ve ever eaten) followed by deserts. agreatexperience all the way around, i hope to revisit again soon.

ramon is an outstanding server. the food isgreatand with him as our server we had agreattime!

average at best. seems like food has gone downhill...had the roast beef tacos (menu said "brisket" tacos" )....no taste at all. chips and sauce always good, wife had very average enchiladas...after many years, we will be saying adios to mia's.

good food, good atmosphere. wouldn't say it's the greatest mexican food around, but it is definitely worth trying. really good food,greatatmosphere, good service and lots of "celebrity pictures" on the wall, which i guess is supposed to validate the reasons you are there. definitely a good time and well worth it. totally enjoyed the nachos and cold beer. tried their "skinny" margarita which was supposed to be made up of tequila, lime juice, and grand marnier. wrong. the waitress couldn't exactly describe what tasted so sweet in the drink, so we sent it back and had the beers instead. one of these days i'll order the brisket tacos. definitely recommend this place!

lukewarm reception. i have the same feeling towards mia's as the hostess, manager and waitress took towards our group- lukewarm

food: all ingredients, including the seafood, was fresh, the vegetables were crisp and the tortillas had agreatbuttery flavor. the draw back was the lack of seasoning. but i'm a fan of the chips and spicy salsa. the brisket tacos get a lot of hype too. and the prices are fairly decent for dinner with somegreatlunch times deals at around $5.

service: again, not the warmest reception, but more importantly, the server made a couple of mistakes, including an important dietary substitution.

atmosphere: typical mexican restaurant decor- sombreros pinned to the wall, 5 different paint colors, sticky vinyl floral tablecloths. the restaurant is relatively small but there's also a fairly large, enclosed patio with heaters.

reservations- yes. but all in your party must be present to be seated- even if the restaurant is half empty. however, unless you have a large party, a reservation is probably not needed. even at peak lunch hour there were open tables.

parking: small lot that fills up fast. there's a "complimentary" valet.

good food,greatservice. liked it a lot. guacamole was very good.

my brother took me here for a lunch date the other day.greatguacamole, the fajitas were average, but the chicken taco soup was amazing.

had wanted to try for a long time. had wanted to try mia's tex-mex for a long time. it was packed so that many people can not be all wrong. to me it was good but notgreatand i certainly agree with a lot of my co-reviewers, i think a bit overpriced for what i received. long established reputation as a place to go. so, go to say you have been. but if you want reallygreatfood,greatservice andgreatvalue - go elsewhere. oh, and the margaritas are pre-mixed. i could not believe that. i had a xx!

the start of it all .... it is my understanding that the dallas tex mex restaurant seen is all in the same family or very intimately connected from mia's to manny's and mi cocina and then to luna de noche and carolina's mexican cuisine. mia's may not be my favorite of all of those but it is good and has some fun nostalgia for me that makes it agreatmexican restaurant.

best ever. recently moved away from dallas but used to go to mias all the time! my husband and i love it! greatsalsa,greatmargaritas,greatfood and cheap prices!! wish we had one closer :(
