i discovered mia's over three decades ago, when it was first located in a small store front on lemmon avenue. the word spread, and the need for more tables brought the restaurant to the current location.

over the years, mia's family members and employees have started other restaurants, including, mi cocina's, taco diner, mesero's and manny's, but the catalyst for all these, is this colorful restaurant on lemmon avenue!

so many great dishes, including the brisket tacos, enchiladas and a number of specialties. but i decided that on a cold night, i needed my comfort dish, sunsetchickenenchiladas, with ranchero beans.

when i want tex-mex, i return to one of the great spots in dallas! glenn almack

...and so i returned to mia's and discovered a new dish!   camarones a la diabla is one amazing dish, with some fire from the devil to make it interesting.  shrimp in 'chile de arbol' sauce, with sauteed vegetables and white rice.   definitely a spicy dish, but the vegetables and rice kept things anchored in this world.  glenn almack

archetypal delicious tex-mex! i had miguelito's special, which consisted of a well-seasoned and juicy beef taco with a hard shell, a creamychickenenchilada and a a cheese enchilada. the enchiladas were drenched and stuffed with tangy cheese, as they should be, and the creamychickenenchilada was a treat as well. i finished it off with a perfectly executed flan. would love to go back!

no nasty! i can't believe this place is still here. i ate there about 15 years ago and since its still standing i decided to try it with my kids. the queso tasted like it was poured straight from the giant commercial can. my kids didn't like it at all. thechickenenchiladas had a "sour cream" sauce that had a unnatural fluorescent yellow color. they also had little flavor and thechickenwas the decent part so i picked it out and ate that. taquitos were bland. and the framed pictures in the women's restroom were growing mold! not just a little either but a significant portion. at the end was the price. it was worth maybe half what was charged. i advise anyone not to come here. i have been to many places and i didn't expect much but wow. i am embarrassed it has the word "mex" by it (yes, i'm mexican)

my favorite tex-mex. love love love it! love the bean soup, the barbacoa tacos and enchiladas, and thechickenenchiladas. the margaritas are delish and strong, just the way they should be when paired with tex-mex. what i love the most, is the ambiance and music. it reminds me of growing up. most other mexican or tex-mex restaurants play salsa or spanish rock. its nice to hear tejano music while eating real tex-mex food!!!!!
