i have now gone here twice. both times with a large group of people. i have yet to hear anyone say that the food they got was any good at all. my opinion.... the food is crap and overpriced! the service has been fair at best and they charge you an automatic 20% gratuity for large parties. i don't mind paying it if the food and service were any good at all. overall grade f.

loud and food is okay. the atmosphere here is one of the loudest i've ever been to. it is a bar, yes but it's loud. don't expect to have detailed or serious convo's here on a busy night without shouting or being right in someone's ear. the food is only ok. i've eaten here several times and haven't ever finished a single plate of anything i've had. i've tried the fish and chips, the buger, and a couple other plates. it seems like standard pub fare. what they are famous for is their drink, and i don't drink beer so i'd much rather eat somewhere else and avoid the noise.

by stephanie on april 30, 2013 - over the past couple of years (and thanks to gfb), i’ve begun to enjoy craft and specialty beers. i hated the taste of beer in college, and now realize that the natty light my friends were buying in bulk at the local drive-thru convenience store was not beer. (ok, it is beer, just bad beer.) i like trying new brews and have a good idea of what i like and what i don’t (sorry ipa’s, you aren’t for me). my favorites tend to be ales, wheats, and belgian whites among others, but sometimes i like to go off the reservation and try something new. mcnellie’s in okc  is the perfect spot to do just that. mcnellie’s has a huge (and i mean it – huge) selection of beers. from india to australia, canada to russia and even local brews, mcnellie’s has you covered. some are on tap, others can be ordered by the bottle, which for me is the perfect solution to purchasing a six-pack at the local liquor store.

it's ok. i've been to mcnellie's a total of about 6 times over the course of the last two years. pros: 1) good beer selection. 2) the food is average, but not bad. cons: 1) beer samples are tiny. if i only ask for one sample, please fill it up enough that i can get at least 2 to 3 drinks of it to try out the flavor. 2) the bar area just isn't big enough.

i haven't given up on this place yet, so i will be back. more to come...

great bar staff and pub food. if you are expecting something fancy...turn around. this three story pub has some great bar food. fish and chips, burgers, appetizers (european cheese platter...hello). bar staff is always quick and to the point. you may not have a waiter or waitress who is extremely friendly, but they never let your beer go empty. that is far more important then any manners.

simply my favorite. not necessarily the top of my list or first selection when wanting to go eat, but definitely the "go-to" place for me for a beer or two. my girl and i just recently (last year) starting frequenting mcn and we love it. the staff is awesome. we know most of them by name now. the complaints that the staff is "rude" are simply not accurate. perhaps at times "rushed", but definitely not rude. rushed because this is the place to be and they are busting their butts to get it done. diane, rachel and bailey will hook you up with samples should you be unsure of a beers taste.
mcn starts getting the younger, ready-to-flex crowd that can be rude to the wait staff on the weekends after 9 and you'll get carded at the door because the under-agers try to sneak in and getting carded is a collateral effect. a much better "adult" bar during the day and weekday nights. i'm certain the "bad" reviews are from the newby of-age bar hoppers. take those reviews with a grain of salt.

beer and more beer!. i really enjoy mcnellie's atmosphere and beer selection. food is above average for a pub setting, in particular i like to grab the irish lunch special! great little lunch + a beer for a good price!
irish lunch special (11am-2pm daily) - bowl of potato leek soup, a 12 ounce
glass of guinness, and bread. (sorry, no substitutions) - $5.50

kaylalily13 needs to think... you know what happens you try to buy beer with an expired id? you get refused. don't like it? renew your id! nobody cares if it's his birthday, it's the law. you must show valid identification to buy beer. i'm here all the time. excellent food, best beer selection in the state. fantastic, fast, friendly, and attentive staff. my favorite place for a drink!

wonderful draft selection. place has a fantastic beer selection. food is as decent as you'd expect from bar. service can seem a little chaotic at times.

went out with friends for a birthday celebration, had the birthday boy (turning 30) carded and allowed in at the door only to be refused drinks at the table bc license was 2 days expired then had the waitress try to force us to pay for a drink we didn't order. worse customer service experience ever. i don't believe anyone in our party of 8 or so would ever go back. no respect at all.

cacophonous. if you like a crowded, cacophonous, dingy and disjointed bar where you have to shout to be heard in any conversation then you might like this place. especially if you like trying lots of different draft beers. personally, the tapwerks ale house in bricktown is a better place to try new beers and enjoy a conversation at a reasonable decibel level. haven't tried the food in either place so can't comment on that.
