not the best well i wouldnt even say a word. food wasn't fresh or delightful. service was garbage, have a lot more to improve if the restaurant wants more clients to check it out. would never suggest to someone i know.southindian is just the name for the cuisine could never feel the taste ofsouthindian food here.

masalazzzz. i have been to masalaz for the past seven months. this is the one and only place in edmonton where we can find kinda authenticsouthindian keralite style blended with tamil style foods. all veggie and non veg items here are good and cheaper. who will give unlimited dosa, parotta, biryani, chicken, fish curry for 13$ in edmonton that too fresh food???? i strongly suggest masalaz is the best place to have lunch or dinner especially on weekends. dont miss beef oliyathu with parotta over there

summin it up. i'd like to sum up the varying reviews here and say that when the food at masalaz is fresh, it's delicious. we've eaten here a number of times and found it tasty and the prices good. tastes like goodsouthindian home cookin'!

but when (like today) the buffet seems to have been sitting there for a long time, it is mediocre - and, it took a long time for them to serve the dosas.

also, the place could really use a good cleaning. ah, well:)

the owner has to be the rudest and ill mannered person i've ever come across. although, he was nice to us he was absolutely horrendous to the staff working there. we went on a sunday and it was quite busy but the owner or his son did not want to help the poor girl working there. if you know its going to be busy hire another person. the owner didnt even bother checking on the food. his sole job was to humiliate the help who ever so patiently was putting up with it. will not return. i hope that lovely girl finds another job. i'm appalled!

it's not bad place. a buffet ofsouthindian and carribean food for $9.99 which consists of about seven dishes. but the owner let us know that they were out of two. what was really awkward was that the owner kept staring at us the whole time we were there. overall, 2.5/5 imo.

rasam. this is just hotwater with a lot of coriander leaves and tomatoes thats it dont have this if u want to feelsouthindian food

great food, great price!!. out of the limited selection ofsouthindian food in edmonton this is the best and my favorite. it's a nice sized family run restaurant and has had some recent remodeling done to it. the service is always friendly and quick which makes it great for a quick stop for lunch. the last time i went was on a friday night and i decided to try the buffet. they had plenty of options and everything was quite tasty. they make the dosas to order so they're fresh, crisp and hot. they also had two types of vada, idli, sambar, chutneys, fried rice, vegetable dish, and other appetizers. i finished my meal off with their delicious gulab jamun and was quite happy with the price as well. this jem is a great place to try and you definitely get your money's worth. check it out!!
