there are eight million vietnamese pork rolls in the naked city. this has been one of them. there's certainly no shortage of places to get a vietnamese pork roll in marrickville, so to open a little kiosk selling only pork rolls is a brave decision, but it seems to have worked. marrickville pork roll does vietnamese rolls and nothing else, and they do them well. it has been open a few months and does steady trade. as well as the standard pork and chicken rolls they do a delectable bbq pork roll. the vietnamese bbq pork is warm, thinly sliced, sweet and succulent. the bread is nice and crusty and the salad innards and juices really mix together for an almighty 'wow' by the end of the roll. marrickville pork rolls is a tiny little kiosk at 36a illawarra road. next time i'm going to try the pork skin roll or a meat ball roll. there's a vietnamese pork roll and smoothie place just opened next door, this also looks worth a try. in vietnam we found the locals made amazing fruit drinks, green

best porkroll?. came here to experience the best pork roll in sydney. i'm a lover of good pork roll and often enjoy them in the viet suburbs of melbourne. on the outset this place is very quaint, just a hole in the wall with a couple of staff tending to their compact setup. i ordered the standard roll. firstly can i say that the wait to have this made was extraordinarily long, there was only one other person in the store who also waited forever...
now to the pork roll. the best first impression of a pork roll is the bread, sadly this bread does not stack up. firstly it's not fresh tasting, was a little chewy and didn't have that satisfying crunch. next i was overwhelmed by the sheer amount of fillings, its too much and upsets the balance of flavours, it also made for quite a wet pork roll inside. the meat had an unusual overpowering flavour of 5 spice. i think they need to go lighter on the spice so you can appreciate the other flavours. there was a good amount of chilli which i like but chilli avoiders will want to request no chilli as they are quite hot. they use an unusual 'chicken sauce' which i've never heard of, it was kind of like a hoisin sauce but not to my liking, it was also very salty. the use of raw onion also put me off. usually i devour at least 1 to 2 pork rolls easy, but i could only eat half of this one as it did not taste good. i am at a loss at how this is sydney's "best". i was also not feeling too good in my tummy after this.

the best vietnamese pork roll in marrickville! it has all kinds of different flavours in one roll: sweet and sour carrot & daikon pickle, bbq pork, coriander, shallot, a dash of soy sauce, and drizzling mayonnaise. the bread is warm and crunchy. service in a blink. highly recommended!

small shopfront with amazing hot bread! very reasonable price for all the food and beverage options. this place is busy during the lunch time.

i usually make an effort to visit this place after surfing down the coast. i work up an appetite and sometimes down 2 pork bahn mi in the blink of an eye. this little gem does the best pork bahn mi i have tried so far. my favourite is the bbq pork roll. with a crisp roll lathered with pate and mayo, stuffed with a variety of fresh salad and topped with a bbq pork type sausage. they add their seasoning which increases the flavour. a great cheap eat.

good pork rolls, depends on personal taste. there are few pork roll places near by. i enjoy hurstville’s pork rolls bit more. something about the carrots i really like.

definitely not the best pork roll in sydney, but probably the most well known, other places within a few minutes walk are cheaper and better. but line up like lemmings if you must, just so you can say you have 'been here'. there's nothing wrong with the place, it was great many years ago when not that many people knew about it .. but as always happens with these places, once they get a 'name', the prices go up, quality goes down..  their pork rolls these days are average at best, they're just living off their reputation they earned many years ago..

the best viet pork roll in sydney, taste great, you'll feel the difference, shred pork skin roll highly recommended~!! can't complain at all~

this place has amazing authentic vietnamese pork rolls at a very reasonable price. there is always a line but the service is very quick. the quality is always consistent and the staff are friendly. i would come here every day if i could!!

omg i mean is that even legal to be that delicious!! so yummyxddd the bread is crispy and soft at the same time and fit well with all the veggies and pork!! also i never thought u could put cilantro in a sandwich but it tastes so good in this pork roll

absolutely lives up to the hype. this original marrickville pork roll hole in the wall takeaway does a brisk trade and service is fast (as long as the person in front of you doesn’t order 15 rolls - true story!). amazing value and just a really tasty pork roll, made fresh to order.
