went friday night with a friend, it was the first visit for both of us. our server was excellent and very tolerant of our taking our time in ordering. we decided to order several appetizers and they all were delicious. the best by far was the ceviche which was fresh, light, and a perfect compliment to the crazy good perfect margaritas we had. we both are looking forward to our next visit, which will be soon.

went to mama roja on wednesday. it was extremely busy but that's to be expected on cinco de mayo. we had a great time drinking, listening to the band and eating the street tacos from the "taco truck". tons of fun! can't wait till next year!

poor service. i ordered cheese enchiladas which were just ok. the rice tasted like dish water soap. the refried beans were not good. i will not go back there again

stopped in tonight at mama rojas with a gal pal for a quick after work cocktail. they serve a margarita that i've enjoyed before, but tonight i came to the conclusion that it is my favorite one in the city. the name escapes me, but it is a combination of a patron margarita on the rocks served with a generous float of frozen margarita on top. it comes with a sugar rim, but switch it to salt and this is one happy mamacita. the frozen margarita keeps the drink extra cold and slightly slushy without causing the typical frozen drink induced brain freeze. mama roja's also offers half-priced loaded queso and fresh guacamole during happy hour. the guacamole i tried was fresh and studded with soft hass avocado chunks. delicious!

fantastic!!! great for lunch.. my wife and i dine here about once a month. the tamales here are as good as you'll get. we routinely get the "chicos bueno burrito" but substitute brisket (like shredded beef...but better) for ground beef. it's topped with premium queso, not the watered down stuff you get at other places. the complimentary set-up is nice: a variety of salsas, fresh spicy veggies, tortillia chips, queso, fresh hot tortillas. the view is great if you sit on the climate-controlled patio or get a window seat. i have yet to try the outside dining, as oklahoma weather is a bet finicky. i bet it's great though. the service here is quick and friendly. a manager almost always comes by your table to chack on you. i love this place. the best mexican in town. also, try the borracho beans.

any negative reviews this place has received must have been written by very picky people who only go out once a month. it was fantastic! the food was great. our server recommended the pork tamales. i've never liked tamales but she convinced me and they didn't disappoint! absolutely delicious! we're going back for cinco de mayo. :)

worst service in the city. took me 1.5 hours to get to a table and another 1 hour to get our food. we arrived at 11:15a. the food was pretty good but i'll probably never go back. i don't recommend it. it will die in a year or so.

my date and i arrived at 9:45p.m. it was saturday night so they don't close til 11p.m. i always check the hours when i go out to eat. as a server, i understand how it feels when people disregard your hours
of operation. we had over an hour to eat, which was plenty of time. there wasn't a host at the entry. we were greeted and sat by a server who was very friendly. several minutes later our server came to take our drink order. we were given chips and queso, but no silverware or plates. we had to ask for them. after about 10 minutes our server reappeared and took our order. our food was brought to us by a busser. we decided to share the ultimate dakotas. again, no plates, no napkins, no points of service were touched on at all. i had to get up, go find the server, and tell her what i needed. when she brought the plates she acted as if we were interfering with her evening of chatting with other employees. there was only 1 table in the restaunt other than us. the next time we saw her was when she dropped the check. no offer of desserts, to go boxes or drink refills. my date had to track down a restaurant employee to get boxes. we paid our ticket and left. never saw a manager on the floor and no one offered a thank u or goodbye. i
was unable to find a comment card so as i was walking out i grabbed a piece of paper from the host stand and simply wrote "food was just ok, but the service sucked."

mediocre food; beautiful decor. beautiful restaurant with great ambiance and view of the lake, but this doesn't make up for the food. we tried several items from the menu, but the food was way below our expectations. salad was soggy, food was not very flavorful, and the fajita chicken in a few of our dishes tasted as if it were ready-made pre-cooked. we won't be back - - there are other much better mexican restaurants in the metro!

nice environment, terrible service and manager. for mother's day, the family wanted good authentic mexican food and great service. but we did not want to fight the crowds on sunday so we went out to eat on saturday. being new to oklahoma, we notice the nice location of lake hefner and the name mama rojas. look it up on line and chose it. great location and environment set us for what we hoped to be a great experience. the food was okay (fajitas for two), knowing what authentic food is, this fell a little short of expectations for our taste. serveres were confused as whose table we belonged to and we were over charged. $12 for 2 flautas (no rice/beans) just 2 flautas - when the plate was $10 - that didn't make sense. manager came and initially said "that's the way it is" and after brief arguement he decided to say it was our fault for ordering a la carte flautas but he would change the price to $10 for 2 flautas. his attitude was less than service oriented and he really didn't seem to care if we ever returned. i guess when the competition is not there, you can have the luxury of taking this attitude. needless to say, our family will not return and will not recommend this establishment to anyone. this place really needs work when it comes to guest service and operational discipline.

i love to sit on the patio with friends. the perfect margeritas are truely the best! that's really the only reason i go there. i've eaten there 5 times and have never been impressed with the food. it's a fun place to go though. bahama breeze was 10 times better. get the tomatillo avacado sauce.
