went friday night with a friend, it was the first visit for both of us. our server was excellent and very tolerant of our taking ourtimein ordering. we decided to order several appetizers and they all were delicious. the best by far was the ceviche which was fresh, light, and a perfect compliment to the crazy good perfect margaritas we had. we both are looking forward to our next visit, which will be soon.

went to mama roja on wednesday. it was extremely busy but that's to be expected on cinco de mayo. we had a greattimedrinking, listening to the band and eating the street tacos from the "taco truck". tons of fun! can't wait till next year!

love the new items!. had lunch there wednesday. it was sooo good! the new spinach enchiladas & tijuana tacos were delicious. the servers took great care of us too.

my date and i arrived at 9:45p.m. it was saturday night so they don't close til 11p.m. i always check the hours when i go out to eat. as a server, i understand how it feels when people disregard your hours
of operation. we had over an hour to eat, which was plenty of time. there wasn't a host at the entry. we were greeted and sat by a server who was very friendly. several minutes later our server came to take our drink order. we were given chips and queso, but no silverware or plates. we had to ask for them. after about 10 minutes our server reappeared and took our order. our food was brought to us by a busser. we decided to share the ultimate dakotas. again, no plates, no napkins, no points of service were touched on at all. i had to get up, go find the server, and tell her what i needed. when she brought the plates she acted as if we were interfering with her evening of chatting with other employees. there was only 1 table in the restaunt other than us. the nexttimewe saw her was when she dropped the check. no offer of desserts, to go boxes or drink refills. my date had to track down a restaurant employee to get boxes. we paid our ticket and left. never saw a manager on the floor and no one offered a thank u or goodbye. i
was unable to find a comment card so as i was walking out i grabbed a piece of paper from the host stand and simply wrote "food was just ok, but the service sucked."

we went here tonight for our family mother's day celebration. we were not given a waittimedue to 'there being 3 other large parties in front of us.' after after one hour of waiting, we got sat in a room with the sun shining right on us. we asked to be moved to a room with more shades. after another 20 minutes of waiting we were moved to another room with no silverware or plates. the server came to our table and got our drink orders without introducing himself. after he brought us our drinks, we waited and waited for someone to come bring us menus and take our order. after talking with a manager three times and both kids in our party crying, we finally convinced a food runner to come take our order. he was very polite and tried to help, but then we had to wait another 20 minutes for our food. the food was hot (which is the only reason i didn't give them one star.) our drinks were not refilled until the end of dinner and my sister-in-law didn't get her margarita until almost the end of the night. (one in which she had ordered at the first table.) after complaining once again, we were discounted around $5 on our ticket. we will not be returning to mama roja's in he future.

homes. went for the firsttimelast night. there was about 18 of us who went to celebrate our daughter in-laws graduation. i was sorely disappointed. service good, atomsphere good, chips, queso, salsa good, food awful. my mom couldn't eat her's it was extremely salty, mother in-law same thing, mine no flavor what so ever. i will probably never go back to eat.

pulleeze!. after wasting mytimereading 75-80% of the reviews of this place, i know nothing more about it than i did before. the only food items that have been critiqued are: chips, salsa, fajitas, and enchiladas (the cheese enchiladas tasted like they were just tortillas with cheese in them). cheese enchiladas? are you kidding me? that makes you a critic of mexican food? are you going to go to mahogany steakhouse, order a hot dog, and let everyone know how hot the hot dog was? how hard/soft the bun was? if you want to critique mexican food, order something mexican, not common tex-mex fare that can easily be prepared at home in a microwave in 10 minutes for a cost of $3.00 at wal-mart.

long waits, bad service, and even screaming kids can happen anywhere. the only "food" review that was remotely of use/interest was the one regarding the migas and norteno.

and for "street tacos", anyone who will go to a fancy place and order those for $10.00 rather than getting the real thing out of a truck for $1.50 each deserves whatever they get.

as the old saying goes, if you're stupid, you'd better be tough.

everytimei've been to mama roja, i have been very disappointed. the food is not good! the margarita was ok. the atmosphere is ok too, but i need more than a good atmosphere and liquor to want to return. i've only returned because for some reason, my in-laws like it. i can't figure it out. the service is usually pretty slow as well, but i've always come with a group, so that may be why.

firsttimeand we'll be back. wonderful fish tacos, good black beans and guacamole....all the food and service were good!

fish tacos. i love good fish tacos and these are the best i've had in oklahoma! loved them and i will come back to eat them again. my hubby thought the black beans and guacamole were great.

perfect margarita. best drink in town! hands down! two is almost too much! i love mama roja and have eaten here for years. it's very inconsistent with its dishes.

i don't know if it's the cooks or what. staff is fine. there are too many flavors in some dishes and not enough in others.

many times i will get it to go and everytimethey forget something in my order. usually guacamole. kinda peeves me off bc it's so good and also so expensive! get it right and i'll come back ;)

pleasantly surprised, will add to my regular rotation.. wait times: went on a friday evening, had at least a 30 minute wait but that's to be expected...no big deal. do you really want to eat somewhere with no wait on a friday night?

food: drinks as well as chips/salsa/queso were promptly delivered to the table after we were seated. i had the taco salad, my wife had the mango chicken salad. everything was fresh and delicious.

service: our waiter was friendly and helpful. order came out promptly. no problems with drink refills. saw two managers walking around the wholetimewe were there, one of them stopped by the table and asked how everything was. that's not seen often around okc and scored big points in my opinion.

misc: i haven't been to mama roja in about five years and was pleasantly surprised. we sat in the big sunroom area, really liked the atmosphere. as for the recent negative reviews, i would recommend taking a look at how many (few) reviews those people have submitted, who else they reviewed (if any), and what they said....just my 2 cents.

about the only critique i can think of from my visit was when i stepped into the men's room to wash my hands, it was really warm in there compared to the rest of the building......a/c vent closed?

nice view. poor service. others who ordered after we did received food first. took forever to get drinks. chips and salsa finished by thetimethey came. food was warm at best, should have been served earlier.

severely disappointed. we had been meaning to try this place for sometimenow, so for our 31 anniversary we drove he 35 miles to get there. that was the best part of the whole night. we should have drove the 8 miles to taco bell! wait staff was a little slow but nothing to get upset about. salsa, chips and queso were good. not bragging good, but good that was all that was good as far as the food. wife ordered the parking lot tacos with the crispy beef. absolutely no taste other than the corn tortilla. i ordered the fish tacos with crispy fish. they were even worse! i could only eat one piece of the crispy fish which was about the size of a fish stick. the flour tortillas which were about the size of a hubcap were equal to that of a sopping wet sponge. when you touched them, they were so wet that it would turn your fingers white and some of it would stick on you. i'll bet i could have tossed them to the ceiling and they would stay there for years! they did remove it from our bill based on my statement that they were awful. i will say the "some like it hot" margarita was very good though. if you have it, you better like spicy. sorry to say, we won't be back.

kinda disappointed!. i have ate here twice now and this lasttimethat i ate there which was today i received poor service! and to add to my frustrations i got a $10 off coupon through my email and when i said that i had one they said it needed to be printed out. i explained to them that i didn't have a printer and now days a lot of things are done online and printers are not used much anymore. and they didn't even try to work with me and just gave me my ticket and gave me crappy attitudes! not very professional!

great experience. firsttimehere tonight! have heard mixed reviews in the past but took a group of 15 here and it was awesome! definitely won me over!
