good pizza, but just not worth it. between the ridiculous wait time for a table, the noise, the under supervised children careening around (and no, i don't mean the wait staff), and the basically poor level of customer service, i will not be back. seems like maybe adding theplacein denver has distracted management.

luckypie = best neapolitan pizza in the front range. luckypie (lp) is exactly what old town louisville needed... what is better than a neopolitan pizza and craft beer joint? luckypie is a perfectplacefor all sorts of situations: watching sports games, going on a date night, having a group get-together, taking the family out, or just grabbing a beer by yourself at the friendly bar.

luckypie has a modern-esque decor that elicits a fun vibe. during the warmer months, you can sit on the spacious, comfortable patio and enjoy the colorado weather. the inside consists of a fun lounge (which is perfect for large groups getting together or for people just enjoying some drinks and apps), a full bar (that has a complete wine list, a large selection of liqueur, and 21 taps of craft beer -- ill get to that later), and a beautiful dining room with an open kitchen.

now the food... lp likes to change their menu based on the season; furthermore, the ingredients are seasonal, organic and fresh from many local farms in the front range. lp knows how to make a pie. this pizza is made in the most top-of-the-line pizza oven with the help of chef joe troupe. troupe does not mess around when making neapolitan pizza. i recommend the grinder; it is a pie filled with cured meats, san marzano tomato sauce, and chiles to give it that extra spice. however, you cannot go wrong with the basic smoked mozzarella or margarita (depending on the season) or even the pepperoni. don't worry -- if you're not in the mood for pie, there are plenty of other other options... the half roasted chicken won't let you down. this chicken comes from a local farm in haxtun, colorado. also, the salads and appetizers are amazing. there is always a great selection of meats and cheeses at lp, so can't go wrong with a meat and cheese board. the lamb meatballs are one of my favorites... but beware because they are really spicy. three pigs is basically an assortment of different types of bacon -- who doesn't love bacon???

now the beer... i am not a big wine guy; however, i have heard from many people that lp's wine list is amazing. anyways, the beer. the beer selection is epic. who else in louisville has 21 taps of beer? who else in louisville has 21 taps of craft beer? no one. lp offers a variety of craft beers from all over: colorado, california, delaware, belgium, ireland, oregon, washington, the netherlands, etc. you will find every colorado microbrew on tap at some point whether it's oskar blues, odell, new belgium, black fox, trinity, ska, avery, etc. the cool thing is that they manage to tap some rare, hard-to-find brews like deshutes abyss imperial stout or odell's bourbon barrel stout. there are about 10 types of bottled beer as well, which includes some non-beersnob brews like coors (if you just want something light that's not craft beer).

the service is great, too! every server or bartender that has waited on me has been friendly and efficient. the owner, brendan, is always showing his face and making sure that your experience is going well. i really appreciate a restaurant with such high-quality service.

great food, no so great service.. the first time i went to lucky pie was within the first week of opening. good atmosphere and patio, inside gets pretty noisy because there's no separation. we got the lamb meatballs for an appetizer and they were delicious, i would highly recommend them. tonight we tried the chicken wings with the gorgonzola, huge disappointment, they were hard as a rock, had no flavor and i didn't see any gorgonzola cheese which is what sold it to me in the menu. we sent them away and got the delicious meatballs again. now for the service..

the first visit we had, the restaurant was very slow and the waiter was slow, didn't really seem to care about anything and it was like pulling teeth to try and get a refill on my soda each time. i gave theplacea chance and decided to come back for the good food hoping to get some better service. our second trip the service was pretty much the same although they were a lot busier being a friday night. both times i wanted a refill on my soda, it felt like i had to keep a look out to flag someone down. i've been in f & b hospitality for almost 10 years and i'm very surprised to see the service at such a low end.

abysmal customer service!!!. "extremely or hopelessly bad or severe: abysmal ignorance;" don' t bother calling for a carry out!!! they don't want your business. apparently they already have enough!!! had a tough day at work and read how good the pizza was. i didn't want to go out just get a good pizza and relax at home. called lucky pizza and asked toplacea simple carry out order; one margarita pizza to go. the waitress indicated they weren't doing carry outs at the moment because it would take 45 minutes to make the pizza-this was at 5:45 pm in the evening. i informed her that was no problem, i could wait an hour or longer if necessary. "no, we can't take your order" she said again. no, it's ok, i explained i can wait. "no sorry, we're not doing carry out; maybe after 8:00 pm." at this point i lost my interest in giving my business to these people. i will not bother to patronize thisplaceeven though i live close by. "good job turning away possible repeat customers lucky pizza!" perhaps you could change your name to "no customer service pizza?" hope your business plan supports this type of customer alienation in a small town. i contrast this with my experience at pasta jay's in boulder. i've eaten hundreds of meals with family and friends over the past 25 years there and always enjoy the pleasant atmosphere and good customer service. guess i'll continue to drive elsewhere for good italian food and ambiance.

tasty food, service not so great. first visit last night, we decided to sit in bar area to watch the game. our server was also our bartender, which at first was fine. but then when it was time toplaceour order he was engaged in a rather lengthy conversation with another table, so it was awhile before we could order. our order arrived, pizza was good but not hot, more like it had been sitting around before being brought to our table. during our meal i needed a refill on my coke and our server did not come back to the table to check on us so i went up to the bar, he again was in deep conversation with a patron at the bar, i stood right next to the guy he was talking to and he never acknowledge me or offered to refill the glass i was holding in my hand. went back to the table, asked for a manager, she was nice but defended the server. really there is not excuse for poor service!
i'm guessing since they are new they have growing pains, but too many growing pains like this will cost them long term.
yes we will try them again, the food was good, and we enjoyed the vibe of the place. but one more time of bad service and we'll be on to another place, lots of other great places to try.

great new edition to growing louisville restaurant scene. hip vibe with great use of open space that previously a post office. fantastic front patio with comfortable atmosphere inside and out. solid organic pizza will hopefully bring crowds for years to come. also a greatplacefor a beer and a glass of wine due to long bar.
