do you ever want some authenticitalianfood and not americanized like the food offered by olive garden? if so, this is your place. the food is amazing, the staff is awesome, and the wine lost extensive. the staff is very knowledgeable about each dish and can ensure you get the best dish. the restaurant has some tight seating and this is my only complaint. enjoy.

i've been to luciano's a few times. they serve reasonableitalianfoods, but heavily americanized. the internal decoration is good. the staff are friendly. i may come back some time later. however, compared to otheritalianrestaurants in town, this is an ok place. i see big opportunities in improvements in food quality and flavor, if they really want the restaurant standing out strong rather than just hanging on out there.

i searched the boise area on zomato looking for someplace new for us to go to dinner tonight. having lived in sicily for 2.5 years when i was a teenager, i was excited about the possibility of having gooditalianfood again. our server, stefan, was exceptionally good at his job. he was attentive, and a very gracious host. not only was the food excellent, the portions were enormous. this is something to keep in mind when you go there. plan on either taking at least half of it home with you, or sharing a single entrée with someone else at the table. among the three of us, we had salmon with pasta, shrimp and chicken with pasta, and veal with polenta. all were delicious. it blue cheese vinaigrette on the house salad was particularly delightful. the four layer chocolate cake with dark chocolate ganache icing was the perfect way to top off our meal (and it took all three of us to eat it). i highly recommend luciano's.

excellentitalianfood. inviting atmosphere in the building, with a very friendly bar as soon as you walk in. bartender was friendly and fairly knowledgeable. very tasty spinach and artichoke dip for an app. chicken parm was pretty much spot on. flavorful red gravy, nicely cooked chicken breast, pasta was cooked well. all in all a very greatitalianexperience. its a place where you can get all of the general classic deliciousitalianfavorites done simply and correctly. we plan on being back very often.

two and a half years.  that's how long it took me to make it to luciano's.  why?  because nobody wanted to freaking go with me.  every time i'd mention it to someone when trying to make dinner plans, it was invariably rejected because either the prices were higher than everyone else wanted to pay, or they were nervous about trying a new place.  i actually understand that latter one, as my experiences withitalianeateries have been more miss than hit, and most often i'd rather just cook my ownitalianfood.  still, i'm a firm believer that people wanting cheapitalianfood is what keeps abominations like olive garden in business, and i wasn't about to try anitalianjoint alone because...well, because it just seemed depressing.  blame all the stereotypes of big families, groups of friends, and romantic evenings atitalianrestaurants.  well, eventually i decided 2.5 years was long enough spent trying to convince any of my usual suspects, so i recruited a fellow culinary enthusiast from among my facebook friends and headed for the bench.

fantastico !!!!. watch out olive garden and louie's. boise has a fantastic pasta house "lucianos italian". the antipasto starter, clams and linguine, seafood fettuccine are 5 star. service 5 star, atmosphere 5 star. just what you would expect of an trueitalianrestaurant. looking forward to taking friends next time which will be very soon.

yummy localitalianfood!. if you don't want to drive to meridian to get great, affordableitalianfood (which i don't because it's a waste of gas and meridian sucks), go to lucianos! i've had greatitalianfood at this place (i am italian, so i know gooditalianfood), the service is good and the prices are decent. i'd highly recommend it, plus, you don't have to deal with crazy downtown parking; they have their own parking lot. :)

i've worked initalianrestaurants for many years and these guys really know their stuff. personally, i prefer this restaurant over any otheritalianplace in boise. the portions are generous, flavorful and modestly priced. that and they don't overcook the pasta like other places do (ahem, asiago's). i wont lie, they are not quite at gino's level of excellence, but if you want greatitalianand don't want to drive to meridian, this is the place to go.

awsome food. we took friends here for their 50th anniversary. we all agreed the food was awsome and the waiter was superb as well. when it came time for dessert we men had dessert and the wives wanted coffee. we had finished our desserts when the freshly brewed coffee (was really good according to wives) was served and before they had a chance t drink the coffee we were being asked to give up our table by the hostess. we left. i felt like we were rushed out and should have been comped ether a discount on our next visit or maybe a free appetizer for the rush job. i will call and see. as i said the food and waiter were awsome. table management and scheduling left something to be desired. just wanted to add that i called the manager and he made it right with us. we will keep lucianos on our favoriteitalianresturant list.

highly recommended!. we decided to try luciano's friday night and were pleasantly surprised and very impressed. the atmosphere was nice and comfortable and the food was fabulous with good portion sizes. along with the great food we had a great waiter, he was attentive, courteous, and brought us everything we needed in a timely manor regardless of how busy he was. it's obvious that other people have found this great restaurant on orchard because while we were there the place filled up every table and there was still a line of people waiting to be seated. i suggest getting there early, i didn't see that they took reservations. i will definitely be returning to luciano's and now consider it one of my favoriteitalianrestaurants in boise!!

great!. the thing i love most about the boise bench is the wide variety of cuisines that are available (tangos, boex, pho tam, to name a few), but sometimes you just want a good bowl of pasta. that is why we were so thrilled when we found out we were getting anitalianrestaurant right in our neck of the woods! we were not disappointed. my husband and i first had dinner there about two or three weeks after they opened. the service was shaky, but we were very happy with our entrees. we returned about two months later, and again, were very satisfied. the salad and bread were fabulous, and my penne fromaggio was heaven (very decadent, definitely not something you'd want to eat often.) at this point the waitstaff had more training and experience and the minor glitches of our first visit had been worked out. would definitely recommend.

heartburn city. thought we'd try lucianos last night since they are a relatively new restaurant in town. they did a very nice job with the decor. the food, however, left a little to be desired. given our group size i was able to sample five different entrées. overall, the flavor of each was okay: not great, not terrible. there was one exception. i'll get to that later. each of the entrées was very fatty. they seem to use a heavy hand with the cream, butter, cheese, and other oils. a bit too much for this reviewer. i am not sure where they are going with theiritalianfood, but it is very americanized. fine if you are into that sort of food. stay away from the pizza. we ordered the margherita. nothing was right about it. the crust was too thick (and it appeared to be pre-fab, it was a little too perfectly round with very uniform thickness). also, there was way too much garlic (yes, there is such thing as too much garlic) and they cooked the fresh basil on the pizza. if you want realitalianpizza, go to tony's. later that evening, most of us got heartburn. nothing a tums couldn't cure. the service was okay. our waiter tried, but he appeared new. he kept forgetting things. we were very excited about the prospects of a newitalianrestaurant in boise. unfortunately, this was not it.
