our not-so-new favorite is cafe lou lou. i first discovered cafe lou lou thru a business lunch invitation. following the lead of my colleague i ordered the chicken portabella mushrooom roll. it was freaking awesome. the roll was surprisingly crispy and thin, almost cracker-like and the peppers, and chicken and mushrooms and sauce worked together perfectly. that was at the dundee location. since then, we've visited the st. mattlocationand love it. we've turned several other couples onto the cafe too, and all have loved it. my problem is that i loved that cpm roll so much that it's hard to try anything different, but i've also had the meatball roll, polenta, and lavash and it's all been wonderful. haven't had the pizza yet, but soon... the beer list alone is worth going for; i especially like the stone ipa. the service has always, i mean always been great.

wrong restaurant. i hate to say this but some people on here seem to be under the impression that the st mathewslocationis the same as the highlands one. as with any restaurants with the same name one is better than the other. if you want a good dining experience go to the one in st mathews, not the one in the highlands. i have never ordered something bad from the st mathews location.

i wish i could understand the hype.. almost everyone i know loves cafe lou lou. i've tried eating there numerous times, but each time i walk away feeling left out. the food is just bland and does nothing for me. bothlocationservice is great, though!

hit or miss. the "new"locationis pretty loud, and lacks the cozy atmosphere of the original frankfort avenue location, but it's no use lamenting a move that happened over 3 years ago!

the food i've had here has been decent, but not to the point that i frequent the restaurant often.

great food, unfortunate acoustics. love the food, delicious! which is the main reason to come back . . . but sadly the newlocationin st. matthews has a "loudness" problem that maybe is from sound bouncing off too many hard surfaces . . . floor, walls--they tried to put some baffles on the ceiling, but that didn't solve the problem, the din can be annoying if you want to relax . . . but the food is worth going for!

sucked. terrible. i visited the highlandslocationwith 2 other friends and we all ordered the shrimp ravioli. it was, by far, the worst ravioli in the city. the server admitted the ravioli were frozen. none of us enjoyed our meal and one person sent their meal back to the kitchen. we also had the misfortune of ordering the crawfish bisque, per the servers suggestion. the crawfish were overcooked, and had the texture of toothpaste.

it's ok, but overpriced. i've eaten at the st. matthewslocationa couple of times. first impression was that i loved the atmosphere - bright colors -fun to look around. but sitting through a meal, i could hardly hear the other people there w/me. -very noisy.
the food is ok. the presentation was nice, but i wasn't all that impressed by the quality or taste. i felt everything was overpriced. i might try it again just to give it a 3rd shot sometime.
