i give it 5 out of 10 .. food wasgooda little over priced for what it is .. i would maybe go here again

this is one of our new favorite places. service is friendly and attentive. the menu is mostly italian and agoodplace to take a picky eater. we love the meatball sandwich.

just finished our first visit to cafe lou lou in st. matthews. it looked promising from the user reviews. it was after the sunday lunchtime rush. we were promptly greeted and seated. our server was courteous and attentive. we ordered the hummus as an appetizer. the pita bread was warm and soft. the hummus was good. my daughter had the caesar salad with grilled chicken. she only ate 3 or 4 bites. she said the lettuce was warm and the chicken had some red seasoning that she was not expecting. my wife had the chicken picata pasta. she said it was awful. the sauce was not what she usually and normally associates with a picata sauce. my son had a child's cheese pizza. he liked it but my wife tasted it and advised that it was not agoodpizza. i had the lasagna. nothing spectacular and when i got to the center, it was cool. i wondered prior to eating it, whether they premade them and froze them for later. i am almost positive of that since it was not even lukewarm in the middle. we won't ever go back. there are better places in louisville to fill any void for italian.

yummy. i can't say enough about this unique little place.. outstanding food and great atmosphere. love love the chicken portabella roll.. wow spicy and tasty .. appetizers are delicious as well..goodkraft beers if you desire beer.

puzzling restaurant. visited a few months back, matt was our bartender. he was very friendly, introduced us to the chef- a young, humble seeming man who prepared us his special of the night. it was reasonably priced and delicious- rare slices of ahi tuna over a crisp jicama slaw. it was a great experience. my wife and i dined the other night, and were not so wowed. the bartender was a tall man who seemed more interested in demeaning the staff than providinggoodservice. our food was sub par at best- the spinach artichoke pizza seemed lazily thrown together, the spinach was crispy to the point of burnt. rather than bug the bartender with our presence, we hastily payed and left. two dining experiences that could not have been more different.

amazing!. my new favorite place! the food was so good! we got the lou lou pizza and the four cheese ravioli with tomato cream sauce. both were to die for! the service was great too. fun atmosphere as well. over all 5 out of 5 for my first time! can't wait to go back and see if it asgoodas the first time!

wrong restaurant. i hate to say this but some people on here seem to be under the impression that the st mathews location is the same as the highlands one. as with any restaurants with the same name one is better than the other. if you want agooddining experience go to the one in st mathews, not the one in the highlands. i have never ordered something bad from the st mathews location.

service was poor, but in their defense they were packed. the food was alright. i liked the option to order two sizes of pasta. the carbonara tastedgoodat first (although one note). however when i bit into a grape sized chunk of red onion it was very off putting. especially when i found several more chunks equally as large. when leaving i was willing to give the place another try because it wasn't terrible. however, as we walked out the door i turned around and noticed their health department rating was a "c." all of this combined means i probably won't be back.

it was, overall, a pleasurable experience and i would definitely return on a wednesday for a half price bottle of wine,goodcompany, and perhaps a pizza next time.

pretty good. wait was pretty long on a fri night, but that was to be expected. ordered veg pasta-goodand filling (only needed to order half size!!!!) plus i added crushed red pepper and parm cheese and it was out of this world. friends ordered shrimp ravioli, meatball sand, and chicken piccata- all were happy with food. service was somewhat spotty (she was really busy) and they didn't have beer i wanted, but they did have a reallygoodsubstitue. i would say it was worth the $$ for the food andgoodtime.

as i want to eat pizza almost every meal, i was happy to discover a highly regarded spot that serves pizza and a wide variety of other flavors so that annie can enjoy the meal as well.

today was our first visit, and i'm ashamed to admit i was not in the mood for pizza - so i will have to update my review at another time for that info.

instead we were in the mood for greek, so we tried the hummus, gyro rolls and ended with bread pudding. the food wasgoodand the server cheerfully allowed me to alter a menu item slightly. i was full after eating only half of the densely packed gyro roll, but the bread pudding was sogoodthat only a smear of rum sauce remained.

my only minor complaint is that i just assumed the onions in the gyro would be cooked. the large chunks of raw red onions were a bit strong for me, but the ingredients were fresh and the presentation was pleasing.

as of six hours later, i'm still full and i have half a gyro roll left in the fridge for lunch tomorrow.

next time i will try the pizza or the calzone. lots of variety on the menu.
