great food, unfortunate acoustics. love the food, delicious! which is the main reason to come back . . . but sadly the new location in st. matthews has a "loudness" problem that maybe is from sound bouncing off too many hard surfaces . . . floor, walls--they tried to put some baffles on the ceiling, but that didn't solve the problem, the din can be annoying if you want to relax . . . but the food is worth going for!

sucked. terrible. i visited the highlands location with 2 other friends and we all ordered the shrimp ravioli. it was, by far, the worst ravioli in the city. the server admitted the ravioli were frozen. none of us enjoyed our meal and one person sent their meal back to the kitchen. we also had the misfortune of ordering the crawfish bisque, per the servers suggestion. the crawfish were overcooked, and had the texture of toothpaste.

it's not authentic italian, but it tastes good. big portions make it not too expensive, but otherwise it would be.

it wasn't all that.. everybody's experience is unique. but as for me and cafe lou lou wasn't a great experience. the place is extremely loud, the service was not so great, and for the food to be so expensive, i expected more.

it's ok, but overpriced. i've eaten at the st. matthews location a couple of times. first impression was that i loved the atmosphere - bright colors -fun to look around. but sitting through a meal, i could hardly hear the other people there w/me. -very noisy.
the food is ok. the presentation was nice, but i wasn't all that impressed by the quality or taste. i felt everything was overpriced. i might try it again just to give it a 3rd shot sometime.

something for everyone. check out my pictures, taken on this visit.

as i want to eat pizza almost every meal, i was happy to discover a highly regarded spot that serves pizza and a wide variety of other flavors so that annie can enjoy the meal as well.

today was our first visit, and i'm ashamed to admit i was not in the mood for pizza - so i will have to update my review at another time for that info.

instead we were in the mood for greek, so we tried the hummus, gyro rolls and ended with bread pudding. the food was good and the server cheerfully allowed me to alter a menu item slightly. i was full after eating only half of the densely packed gyro roll, but the bread pudding was so good that only a smear of rum sauce remained.

my only minor complaint is that i just assumed the onions in the gyro would be cooked. the large chunks of raw red onions were a bit strong for me, but the ingredients were fresh and the presentation was pleasing.

as of six hours later, i'm still full and i have half a gyro roll left in the fridge for lunch tomorrow.

next time i will try the pizza or the calzone. lots of variety on the menu.

great service, ok food. actually, i'm sure the food was good, it just didn't taste quite right to me. it's more of a "cajun/mediteranean/cafe" restaurant. the service and staff were great though.

lavash bread is great & meze pita plate is probably one of the best apptitizers on the city. unique pizzas and great drink menu will make you love the louisville-louisiana experiance.

too loud. the food is great here but the noise is so bad that it is impossible to have a conversation with the person next to you.
