big disappointment. if you want good mexican food, this is definately not the place. my first time and really thought i would be happy and satisfied. first, thesalsawas more pureed than real mexicansalsashould normally be. second, i ordered chili colorado and the red chili had a weird taste and the meat was cheap gristle meat! i picked out a few pieces of meat which was very little, and the mashed beans taste like it was outta the can! although, the owner was friendly even after i told him that i grew up in new mexico where "real" mexican food was made he wasn't so friendly after i made comments after the meal because he stopped over to our table and asked so i told him. if you want good mexican food i have found that "el torro" in zelionople is good and "guiterrez mexican food" in butler, pa. is excellent! well worth the drive! unfortunately, i will not be back to this particular establishment. i will keep trying out new places for good mexican food which i love and miss. good luck!

times change. the first time i went to los cabos was when it first opened and it was great, nice quality food, good service. as time went on the food slowly changed, got cheaper more greasy. the meat is terrible if its not too greasy its too dry. the steak is so bad it has hard pieces of dried meat and so much vile fat in it. most of the time i have went there it was terribly understaffed, the young man(i believe his name was geremy) that was serving friday night was vary nicely dressed and very kind and helpful. but he was the only one serving food i felt bad/uncomfortable eating there because of it. los cabos seriously needs the invest on some better meat and stop serving the cheapest stuff they can find. thesalsawill always be the best the best tho.

true socal mexican!. finally a place that actually tastes like baja mexican food! being born and raised in ca, i love good mexican food, but after moving here 2 years ago have been very disappointed in the heavy, bland tex mex offered here. thesalsahas a kick, chips are freshly made, tortillas are soft and delicious, and the carne asada burrito had a great balance of guacamole, meat and pico de gallo. will definitely go there again!

i want to start by saying i've had mexican food in mexico, california and arizona. and of course various crap in other states. i love everything about this place. joel and audi are so nice and welcoming. the food we had was absolutely delicious. thesalsawas one of the best i've had - it actually had some heat and a nice balance of flavors. i do not like the typical refried beans accompanying most mexican cuisine but again, they actually had flavor and the perfect texture. even the rice was better than average! i mean, it's kinda hard to drastically mess up rice so it's usually passable but their rice is delicious. finally, in response to the person who had the cheese enchilada the day after i did - sorry yours was disappointing! mine was perfectly cooked and didn't taste "canny" at all. also, the chicken taco i got was so amazing. i loved the fresh, crumbly shell. sure it fell apart easier than the box kind but it was so good, i just used my fork to eat the rest. lastly, they now use "real silverware", which was a silly comment to make after they first opened. byob still - but those make for the best places anyway.

not bad but hope it will get better. my boyfriend and i had been discussing how wonderful it would be to finally have a mexican place in our 'hood. we are die hard "east enders" and we tend to keep our money local. we went on a thursday evening around 6pm and were waited on quickly. the lady taking our order was friendly and the entire staff was helpful.. we were handed menus and told to place our orders up front. we took a seat to review the menu and a very cordial gentleman brought us some chips and salsa. the chips were fantastic and thesalsawasn't bad. one or the other could have used some salt, although i appreciate that neither was salted. this gave me the option to salt my chips.
we both ended up ordering the same thing; a combo of beef taco and chicken enchilada with an additional tamale for one dollar. i ordered one order of beans and rice for us to share. when they brought out our order, they had given us both beans and rice, which was nice. here is what was great....the food was hot and looked fresh. the enchilada sauce was great, the tamale was perfect even though it was chicken and not beef like on the menu, and the hard beef taco was great although a little greasy. the only thing i can really say was not good was the chicken in the enchilada. it tasted like it had been boiled with no seasoning and then added to the mix of onions and peppers later.
i will certainly go back. i am hoping that anything that wasn't good was due to it being opening week. my displaced texan boyfriend couldn't find anything bad to say but he would eat a baseball mitt covered in mustard and like it.

pretty good burrito. i was excited to try this place. i went around lunch time (1:30) and it was packed, so i decided to come back later when things had quieted down. the staff were all incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the food was pretty good. i had a pollo asado burrito and it was tasty and filling. the chips were nothing special, but thesalsawas delicious and tasted very fresh. i decided to order a taco too, but it wasn't as good as the burrito, and fell apart in my hands (it would have been better if it had two soft corn shells instead of one. also, some cold slaw and some sliced limes would have been a nice touch.)

some things that could make this place a little better:
it seems like this place can't decide if it wants to be a sitdown restaurant or a taqueria. i wish the prices were slightly lower, the portions slightly bigger, and that everything was done more like in a taqueria. they use plastic silverware, styrofoam plates, and styrofoam to-go containers which seems wasteful. i like my mexican food fast and cheap, and if i could order burritos and tacos here and just get them wrapped in paper and foil (taqueria style) i'd be set. i like it when taqueria's use those reusable plastic baskets with paper in then. and if you must have to-go containers, please make them paper! i'm guessing these sorts of changes would save them a lot of money as well. maybe they'll give it a try? i don't think bloomfield really needs another sitdown restaurant, but we could sure use a great to-go taqueria.

in any case, the food i ate had some good flavors going on, and the people working there seemed great--i hope they do well and that they stick around. i'm going back in a few weeks after they've been open a little while longer--who knows. maybe by then i'll be able to get a wrapped up burrito to-go???
