were there with a big group over the weekend and being the art deco festival it was crazy busy and the staff were run off their feet, but the staff were never short with us, treated us with respect and provided friendly excellent service, and the food came out on time and was great.

one of the best dining experiences i have had, especially considering the circumstances. would definitely recommend.

come here often, a great drink selection with the traditional margarita being my favourite! food is always consistent and service is friendly and attentive, will always come back :) is pricey but worth the extra,

a good place for celebrating someone's birthday! we brought a cake and a very friendly staff brought it out as planned. honest staff as well not to rip us off! large food servings!

family-friendly, great service and good food. great place to catch up with family and friends. the short stack redneck ribs was juicy and tender, you can never go wrong when you try it. finished off with the longhorn cheesecake to complete a great meal.

meal was ok particularly the ribs but the atmosphere was ho hum. went with old friends to catch up over dinner and reminisce. the music was too loud and so was the waitress or perhaps she just had to do that to be heard over the music.

great quality food with big protions - worth the price. awesome customer service! although the food took wuite some time to come out but still a great place to go to for a quality family dinner. would come back again soon. highly recommend!!

massive portions and great family friendly atmosphere. great if you are looking for a nice place to have a steak. very quick service with friendly waitstaff!! would recommend for a family friendly night

we went out for date night here and i really enjoyed it the ambience was nice....the food was delicious we shared ribs for an entrée they were really good.....i had crispy skin duck which was very tasty and my husband had lamb shanks which he thought were a tad small but still good. service was friendly and prompt overall good night out.

good quick service but portions (aside from the ample coleslaw) were rather lacking. medium steak was closer to well done and a tiny smear of the red wine jus just wasn't enough.

we started with the prawns and the squid - both perfectly cooked. i had the dixie chicken (what else when we are up here for the dixie chicks) and i felt the amount of sauce was far less than i used to get when ordering this in chch, the chicken was cooked, the mash was smooth, and the coleslaw was perfectly crunchy. my friend had the aged steak and she rated it 9/10. they were extremely busy but our waitress was polite, friendly, knowledgeable, and a trainee.

this lonestar is amazing! the food is always delicious and the portions are big. the service is pleasant and the setting/theme is stunning and consistent. i highly recommend this to anyone who wants a 'hearty feed'. the only downsides i've found is the price, as the main meals are expensive, and the wait time (on average the wait time is usually 30-40 mins, but can be much longer depending on the night).

i had been hankering for a steak all week, so the visit to napier seemed like a time to feed the beast.

i got the sirloin medium. it was pitch perfect, tender and cooked very well.

i dined at lone star queenstown 2 years back. and its become a trend to dine at lone star at all places i visit. this time was no different. very relaxing ambience. amazing food. awesome pork ribs (the thing that got these guys popular). super fine chicken. juicy and succulent. the salad sides create a balance for all dishes. a delightful selection of desserrts. nothing too fancy, but something that no one should miss. not a fan of the cocktails though. if you guys are reading this; muddled kiwi and pineapple or for that matter any fruit, gets stuck in the straw and spoils the experience of the drink.
