good choice. after a few more visits, changing it to a favorite!

haven't been back here in quite a few years, not because of food or service but just trying other places. our party of 8 decided to try it out do to it being byob. we had a great time; both service (janet) and food were very good. considering myself a connoisseur on greens and beans (having grown up on them along with tasting multiple family recipes for years) i would rank theirs as one of the best. we shared bites of everyone's main courses - all were tasty. also liked the mussel appetizer and the spicy sauce. one pet peeve, if tomatoes are white and out of season, why use them? as garnish they really weren't needed on the eggplant parm. that's about the only negative comment i could come up with for the evening! also, not much of a desert guy but the few bites i had of our shared deserts were very good and large portions.

best kept secret. legends of the north shore is one of pittsburgh's best kept secrets. some of the best italian food around. i work at agh and enjoy the atmosphere, the friendly people who work there, and the great food! the cajun shrimp pasta dish is a favorite of mine!

in one word- awesome! in several words- every time i've been to legends of the north shore i've been impressed. during lent, the fish sandwich is to die for! the penne vodka dish is hands down the best. but, on valentine's day 2012 the shrimp and chicken dish was the best meal i think i've ever eaten! the owner, chef dan, is a creative genius and the staff are wonderful too.

what a great neighborhood restaurant. very friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive wait-staff, and delicious and consistent food. legends has mastered the art of "doing a few things, and doing them very well." the menu is small & focused, its variation delivered in the specials, and again, the chef prepares everything with consistent high quality. regardless of our wait-staff --and we've had them all-- the service is spot-on; these people seem to enjoy their jobs and are genuinely pleased to see you, a welcome attitude any time i'm spending money. as for the corkage fee--i don't understand all the belly-aching. the $4/glass charge is by no means out of standard, and is an acknowledgement that you are bringing something from outside to consume in their restaurant. frankly, i'm pleased that i can bring my own wine; it puts me in charge of the wine cellar for my meal.

definetly worth it!!. i don't understand what the bad reviews are about. i have been a loyal customer since i moved to pittsburgh. i find the food to be consistently flavorful and plentiful. as far as a cover charge, i have no idea what that is about...i have never been charged any sort of cover, nor do i think that is a correct statement. there is a corkage fee, which i don't mind, because i save so much money by bringing my favorite bottle of wine, minus the mark-up most restaurants charge! the selfish part of me doesn't mind that some people can't appreciate fantastic food and service; it will make it that much easier for me to get a reservation!!

always amazing!. i can't even count the number of times i have eaten here; i love it that much! legends food is amazing from start to finish! their bread and dipping oil is always fresh and plentiful. the salads are crisp and perfectly prepared, you can tell they are made when ordered. they always have a couple soups to choose from as well. there is nothing on the menu that i wouldn't recommend and their desserts are probably the best in the city. also, they always offer complimentary fudge at the end of each meal. i really couldn't ask for more from a restaurant. perfect!

not worth it. very over priced for the food, service and atmosphere. the menu is boring and i left hungry (mind you i am a 110lb girl). they charge you a $2 cover charge per person similar to what restaurants do in italy, however this place would be shut down if it were in italy because the food can hardly be called italian.

corkage fee. it really upsets me how often people complain about corkage, people dont realize how much those glasses cost, plus cost of breakage, cost to wash, and cost to polish. besides the average mark-up on a bottle in restaurants is about 3 times the cost. so unless your a cheap ass that brings in a $9 bottle of wine, quit wineing!

please fix your website!. your website is outdated, misleading, and in poor taste. you are offering a $22 meal on wednesday nights but it is not valid. you need to let people know this is not a special any longer. it is false advertising!

beware of corkage fee!!. the food is great and i love the charm of a small restaurant but watch out as their corkage fee is $4 per person not per bottle!!! there is no way to justify such a charge and as a result i find myself avoiding dining here out of principle. i'd love to hear from legends why they charge such a high fee.

beans & greens. this is the finest example of this low profit, labor intensive dish you will ever find.

beans & greens. for a starter this can't be beat. you will feel like popeye after spinach as the nutrients surge thru your system after sharing this with your mate/friend, whoever. there is enough to share.
