le filet par excellence.... le filet

when you leave le filet and you tel yourself that
coming back is a must, then you know the dining experience was great, and so it was. i could discourse on the originality and presentation of the dishes but it is also the ambiance and those added complements often absent at some restaurants that made the evening
enjoyable. do trust staff onwinepairing. leave your
winepreferences for another day and trust staff on
pairing. they are knowledgeable and you will discover new labels. ask for the house cocktail
la piscine. it is the hottest drink in paris at this time.

unique. the decor is trendy with fishnets on the walls. the service is friendly and professional. an army of waiters show up punctually to deliver the tapas to each table. the food andwinemenus are surprisingly extensive. lots of imaginative combinations of flavors in the plates.

standard food / medium service. the dishes are well prepared but lack some flavour. the "morue noire" was nonetheless excellent. but the three other were "standard". you can add some pieces of foie gras and claim that it fits gastronony standards but it's not. the dessert "serenade" was really bad : dry. tasteless.wineis super expensive. 9$ for a quite basic withewinesold for about 17$ at saq...
service was minimal. restroom dirty. for such price, you can find way better in montreal.

still great. went back to le filet after not eating there for over a year. we were looking for somewhere good to go last minute on thursday. we had called chase et peche and they had a table ready, but as my friends have never tried le filet we opted to go there. called at 830 and by 910 pm they had a table for us. we ordered many dishes from the 3 sections, our favourites were the tuna tartar, hamachi, tandoori style octopus and garnished oysters.
the arctic char and red snapper were perfectly cooked. our only dissapointments were the lobster pasta with peas and foie gras with liver cheek pasta. we probably shouldn't have ordered the pasta dishes as we ordered so much of everything else. the 2 bottles ofwinewere good and the service was impeccable. our waitress had moved us to a bigger table as she saw how much we were ordering. great food, great service and great times. total damage for 5 people was 600 tax in. had we not ordered the 3 pastas which were practically left untouched the bill would have been closer to 500. looking forward to going back soon.

every penny is worth it! we had such a great experience and we were expecting a lot after reading a lot of reviews and getting amazing feedback from my foodie friends. well, they made us 100% satisfied and filet is now for us our favorite discovery this year. the 5 plates we had were all great, we really enjoyed all of them, which is rare. we wouldn't mind spending more money to try more stuff but we were full! my only complaint would be about theirwinelist, i had to try 4 wines to find one i liked. but the waiter was kind enough to make sure i would be satisfied. this demonstrates how they care about your experience. the service was top nutch! we had about 3-4 people that would make sure that the table is clean, your drinks are full, your cutlery is clean for the next service... go there for a special occasion or to treat yourself, you'll love it! (don't expect to get free bread ;)

delicious. fantastic meal, some components better than others obviously but over-all i would rate this place very well, excellent service, although my waiter was a bit of an arrogant prick at first, greatwinelist, nice ambiance, and most importantly great food.
must-try is the cod with macadamia nut, the hamachi with julienned cucumber, the jicima salad with fennel and grapefruit and the venison carpaccio with mushroom and comte cheese (possibly the best single bite of food i've had in a while)

it's good but it's gonna cost you. filet is definitely one of the best new restos in montreal. it's fine dining in a trendy nyc like atmosphere. from outside it looks like nothing but once you go in....wow. food was wow the oyster au gratin was to die for and kills the rib n reef. it's a sharing menu which i find a bit annoying but every dish we had was succulent and perfect. one of the best new resto's in mtl. esthetically beautiful but the coat check is weird (as soon as you walk in all coats hanging). 4 dishes, 4 cocktails and a bottle ofwinecoated 550$ but the quality of ingredients is amazing

nicky. ambiance is warm and very "bistro". oysters with inividual toppings are excellent. the tuna tartar was "ok". a cope version of le pied de cochon but not so tasty. the fish with safran was 'ordinary" . all dishes were very well presented. the service was excellent except for the fact that when the waiter was yelling the menu to the table beside us and we could not hear anything but his yelling...... all in all, a nice experience, an adult crowd, and ok. thewinelist is good and well presented.
