amazing service, greatfood. worth the price!!! the waiters suggest ordering 2-3 for each person, but that sounded like a lot to me and my friends so the three of us each ordered one dish and together we shared two. perfect amount of food!!!

still great. went back to le filet after not eating there for over a year. we were looking for somewhere good to go last minute on thursday. we had called chase et peche and they had a table ready, but as my friends have never tried le filet we opted to go there. called at 830 and by 910 pm they had a table for us. we ordered many dishes from the 3 sections, our favourites were the tuna tartar, hamachi, tandoori style octopus and garnished oysters.
the arctic char and red snapper were perfectly cooked. our only dissapointments were the lobster pasta with peas and foie gras with liver cheek pasta. we probably shouldn't have ordered the pasta dishes as we ordered so much of everything else. the 2 bottles of wine were good and the service was impeccable. our waitress had moved us to a bigger table as she saw how much we were ordering.greatfood, greatservice andgreattimes. total damage for 5 people was 600 tax in. had we not ordered the 3 pastas which were practically left untouched the bill would have been closer to 500. looking forward to going back soon.

every penny is worth it! we had such agreatexperience and we were expecting a lot after reading a lot of reviews and getting amazing feedback from my foodie friends. well, they made us 100% satisfied and filet is now for us our favorite discovery this year. the 5 plates we had were all great, we really enjoyed all of them, which is rare. we wouldn't mind spending more money to try more stuff but we were full! my only complaint would be about their wine list, i had to try 4 wines to find one i liked. but the waiter was kind enough to make sure i would be satisfied. this demonstrates how they care about your experience. the service was top nutch! we had about 3-4 people that would make sure that the table is clean, your drinks are full, your cutlery is clean for the next service... go there for a special occasion or to treat yourself, you'll love it! (don't expect to get free bread ;)

satisfactory. went to le filet last week, greatservice attentive staff. the food? not overprices for what you get, but nothing reallygreatconsidering the buzz i had been hearing. would i try it again? if only i was in the area. was not exactly super impressed that i would go out of my way.
again, i am a difficult client-so they say.
overall rating for an establishment of this caliber?

delicious. fantastic meal, some components better than others obviously but over-all i would rate this place very well, excellent service, although my waiter was a bit of an arrogant prick at first, greatwine list, nice ambiance, and most importantlygreatfood.
must-try is the cod with macadamia nut, the hamachi with julienned cucumber, the jicima salad with fennel and grapefruit and the venison carpaccio with mushroom and comte cheese (possibly the best single bite of food i've had in a while)

best seafood and tapas-like sharing dishes i had in montreal.greatatmosphere and location. their terrace will be killer in winter. i was warmly greeted by both owners upon entrance and got seated at an awesome table in the corner. most of the food is mean to be shared. that's why we ordered 4 or 5 dishes to share. their tataki was absolutely delicious. the waiter had pretty good idea of the wines he was selling. we tried an italian one, that was filtered through volcanic ashes. a truly original one. all in all, awesome, nyc-level experience in montreal.

one downside - it is a bit too loud and gets much louder by the end of the night when people are moving onto their 2nd or 3d bottle.

i heard of le filet through a post on montreal for insiders and knew i would want to try this one out right away. club chasse et pêche is one of montreal'sgreatrestaurants, and a new restaurant from the same owners was full of promise. i reserved pretty far in advance (2 weeks) and am glad i did as the restaurant was packed.

finally! anothergreatplace to eat in montreal. of course by the owners of club chasse et peches the othergreatplace in montreal. food amazing - value for what you get fair. only downside is acoustics - it's awfully noisy hard to hear anything. but outside of that perfect.
