great food, friendly service and amazing coffee! best coffee i've had in tasmania and the food was very tasty and generous portion sizes. will be back!

really very happy to have found the laneway today as we alighted from the spirit of tasmania ferry. the waffles were a big hit with the kids (half serve was plenty) and i has the mess. good coffee and lovely place. do it!

absolutely loved laneway! the bacon maple walnut waffles were just to die for! one of the best breakfasts i've had. they also allowed half serves which i liked and service was friendly

super delicious way to start the day, coffee is excellent, service is friendly and food was superb. wish i could remember the exact name of the food but i ordered something called a farmers mess i think! anyway, it was delicious, basically scrambled eggs with capsicum etc and served with bacon. the veggie breakfast was also a hit. would def come to this place again should i ever be back to devonport

interesting menu of delicious items and so many options are gluten free. we had a fresh made apple and ginger juice, excellent coffees, waffles and chia porridge with granola. the space is roomy and interesting. the staff are friendly, relaxed and efficient. the service was quick at 7am. this is a great place when arriving on the spirit of tasmania. we will be back.

an enjoyable spot for a coffee and an aperol spritz. interesting flavours of local produce such as bubble gum macarons. wide selection of local meats. in the bathroom is a mural very much in young tasmanian artist style. service was prompt but saw server eating rest of the orange with hands after they had put it in our drink, a bit gross. overall a good spot though.

i had a breakfast here during a recent business trip to devonport.

this is a classic melbourne lane cafe. eclectic, hipster vibe. but not pretentious, just jumping into current style.

very nice poached eggs and avocado.

the long black was very good as well.

i'll be back on my next trip to devonport.

the only place in devonport with vegan options! was so glad to find this place as it's very much like melbourne cafes. they have a separate vegan menu (you have to ask for it) which has a great selection apart from there's honey in things which means that most vegan can't order that anyway.  i've had the vegan breakfast (pictured) and it was delicious, all the things i loved. i've also tried the vegie burger but the patty was  just like mashed potato in a burger bun and was a bit bland which is sad because i wanted to love it. hopefully with a menu change they'll sort that out. but staff are fabulous, atmosphere is great and it's just so nice to find a place i can eat!

the laneway cafe is hard to find - and that's just as well.

because otherwise it would be too busy to find a table.

we were there for breakfast on saturday morning before the floods washed away the ferry moorings.

an eclectic  little cafe down a laneway in devonport. 
in through the front door and into the main area or off the right or up the stairs to the "balcony"area or through to the cavernous "back room". 

the waitress appeared rapidly to take our drinks order with my coffee arriving quite rapidly, but the iced tea took quite some time.

of the 4 menus on our table 2 were quite grubby and since i was unsure what the stains were i chose the menu from a spot where i wasn't sitting to make my choice from the menu.

the meal was delicious with the food arriving in a most timely manner, my only concern was that when they removed the 2 place settings and glasses from the table where had been seated these were put to one side to be "recycled" for the next person.  my suggestion would be to not set the table until people arrive.  you just do not know who has sat and "played" with that glass that you chose to recycle for the next person.

next time i am in tassie i will return.

the salad dressing in the calamari salad from the lunch menu was ok. rest 👎🏻. worst chewy, rubbery calamari i've ever had.not what i expect from a cafe that's rated the highest in devonport.

i had calamari and the were below any standard, the beer was ok (james boag's) i guess because they don't have to craft it. my dad had a burger and he was pretty sure that the place with the yellow m it's better. the service was as good as the food....

friendly and quick service. awesome coffee! stopped in on the first morning of our trip through tasmania. kid friendly place. would recommend to others.

was looking for a great place to have breakfast and found this gen. fantastic cafe. service was awesome food fantastic. great find tucked in a laneway pf course. breakfast highly recommended.

excellent service, delicious food & great atmosphere!
came here straight off the spirit of tasmania & found a little slice of melbourne cafe culture in sleepy devonport. best way to start our tassie holiday ever!!
