i really love the old-world charm of landour bakehouse. the carrot cake and hot chocolate was excellent. so were the stick-jaws. what i wasnt impressed with was the rose-almond cake - it didnt taste as lovely as it looked.
however, overall, great experience and i’d totallyvisitagain.

another amazingglyy beautiful place in uttarakhand diaries ❤❤
it's a mustvisitplace when you are exploring mussorie ki khoobsurat vadiyaaaan🌲🍀
..
.
what we ordered: cinnamon roll, chocolate crossaint, chocolate fudge with cranberries and grains on top
..
.
landour has little shops with homemade cosmetics, soaps, jams etc. it's hardly 15-20 min. walk from chaardukaan. start heading left from the church ⛪ and passing through oak trees, lots of monkeys🐒, meeting sleepy dogs🐕, you'll reach landour bakehouse, near sister's bazaar!! ❤❤
this bakehouse is restored from british era and famous for its classic art deco charm😍

nestled in the foothills of the mighty himalayas lies a small hill town of landour which houses a 175 years old hotel rokeby manor. a subsidiary of which is the the landour bakehouse.

started in the 1800’s the cafe still uses the century old techniques and methods of baking and till date opens its doors at 8 am every morning for its guests to savour on the delicacies they prepare.

we recently planned avisitto the place and were struck with the awe of the history the place holds and the preservation of british architecture that the owners have done for the place. be it the original teak wood floorings, utensils used at the time of starting the place or a special nook for keeping books from local authors- a tribute to the weekly reading club which actually gave birth to the place.

we are a fan of the savouries the place offers but the croissant, butter cake and hot chocolate are our utter favourites.

for all the people traveling to mussoorie, we recommend them tovisitthe place for a feel of going back in time and have a feel of what it looks like to be in a small british town!

the cozies and the most rustic vibes that a café can offer, this place has it all!

the ambience is top notch and is a hidden gem in the top hills of mussoorie. this is where one can take their loved ones for a perfect date and have the time of your lives sipping hot chocolate while viewing done the window panes over the valley.
we ordered a carrot cake, walnut chocolate brownie and hot chocolate. all of them were to die for although we found them to be overpriced.
cost for two- rs. 1000/-

landour bakehouse is a place where people just don’t come to eat but the celebrate this place.

even before visiting here we were so excited as we had read so much about it.

landour is tiny, calm and beautiful hill town and the bake house which has been there since ages attracts people like anything.

we were surprised to see that a crowd was waiting to grab to seat, which varied from old people narrating there boarding days stories and young people/ foreigners glued to the amazing view from the windows and appreciating the vintage but well kept interiors of the cafe.

we shared our table with a brigadier who was kind enough to offer us the seats and also enlightened us about his experience of the bakehouse a kid while he studied at a boarding school here.

and then we came to eating which was even more enjoyable after all the discussion.

we ordered a chicken junglee crepe as it was most recommended, a chocolate crepe, eclair with whipped creme, chocolate croissant, peanut butter blondie, a hot chocolate and a cappuccino.

it was a delightful experience to eat such great food.

worth avisitand every moment spent here.

after a short hike up the hills to this spot in sister's bazaar, the cosy wooden interiors is very welcoming. i ordered bread pudding, carrot cake slice, cappuccino, packed peanut butter cookie and walnut pie.
out of these the ones i would recommend are the walnut pie and carrot cake minus the frosting. the subtle flavour of cinnamon in both pudding and carrot cake was great. however the food items itself can be much much better. it's a perfect ambience for spending some quality time and i look forward to improved taste on my nextvisitto musoorie.

wow !!! is the only word that comes to mind when i think of the food orgasm one experiences at this amazing quaint little bakery in landour. my suggestion, skip ellora in dehradun, skip char dukan in landour; turn up at this bakery with empty stomach and the appetite of a hungry tiger to devour all their goodies. we unfortunately were filled to brim & this got stuff packed. couple of chef choice cakes. but the one which was the best never to be missed is the coffee walnut cake. wish we had got more packed on way to jw marriot for our stay. also remember to buy any book written by the famed author ruskin bond which if you are lucky, you can get signed by the great author himself at his home on way back to mussorie. the preparation, variety, old world charm of the bakery all are a full 5. mustvisit!!!

if u evervisitmussorie, this place should be marked as a mustvisitplace of your itinerary. we reached there around 3 pm and it was jam packed. as soon as you enter, the delicacies displayed can make your mouth water..and your mind confused as what to eat. if you are lucky enough, unlike us, you can even get a table near the windows and enjoy the view while eating..a pleasure both to your mind as well as taste buds.
we ordered carrot cake and rose almond cake. both were simply yumm. the warmth and taste of the latter is something we are never ever going to forget.
in fact, one of the main reasons that we would evervisitmussorie again would be tovisitlandour bakehouse and have rose almond cake and we will make sure to bring back some of it with us too.
thanks for making our day even more fun.
