i really love the old-world charm oflandourbakehouse. the carrot cake and hot chocolate was excellent. so were the stick-jaws. what i wasnt impressed with was the rose-almond cake - it didnt taste as lovely as it looked.
however, overall, great experience and i’d totally visit again.

landour bakehouse is a place that’s obviously famous for being located in the vicinity of ruskin bond’s home. but make no mistake, it’s claim to fame lies in much more than that i.e., it’s stupendous food creations and variety in patisserie is quite impressive along with their range of caffeinated drinks.

coming to the food items, we personally went for the good ol’ cappuccino and some savoury and sweet croissants! the savoury croissants were a pleasant surprise and all the fillings were fresh and the croissants themselves beautifully baked and succulent once you bite into them.

regarding the ambience, we’ll it’s a small place but has very cosy vibes and a beautiful mountain backdrop which can be witnessed through the glass wall! a bit crowded especially on weekends and holiday season - there might be minimal waiting in certain cases.

price wise, the place is not extremely pricey but would definitely fall in the mid-segment in terms of expenditure.

all in all, landourbakehouse is a must try to revel in the history of the place and enjoy perfectly baked goodies with your cup of coffee while taking in beautiful scenery!

yes its pretty! yes its crowded! yes its vintage! but no, not worth the hype. we ordered chocolate eclairs, lemon curd and nuts crepe, veg paneer puff, hot chocolate, and cafe latte. it was okay! the puff was soggy, the hot chocolate had a grainy aftertaste and the coffee tasted like it came out of the ccd vending machine at an mnc.

i suggest have a bite at mussorie and then go tolandourfor its scenic beauty and not for this bakery.

.
what we ordered: cinnamon roll, chocolate crossaint, chocolate fudge with cranberries and grains on top
..
.
landour has little shops with homemade cosmetics, soaps, jams etc. it's hardly 15-20 min. walk from chaardukaan. start heading left from the church ⛪ and passing through oak trees, lots of monkeys🐒, meeting sleepy dogs🐕, you'll reachlandourbakehouse, near sister's bazaar!! ❤❤
this bakehouse is restored from british era and famous for its classic art deco charm😍

nestled in the foothills of the mighty himalayas lies a small hill town oflandourwhich houses a 175 years old hotel rokeby manor. a subsidiary of which is the thelandourbakehouse.

started in the 1800’s the cafe still uses the century old techniques and methods of baking and till date opens its doors at 8 am every morning for its guests to savour on the delicacies they prepare.

we recently planned a visit to the place and were struck with the awe of the history the place holds and the preservation of british architecture that the owners have done for the place. be it the original teak wood floorings, utensils used at the time of starting the place or a special nook for keeping books from local authors- a tribute to the weekly reading club which actually gave birth to the place.

we are a fan of the savouries the place offers but the croissant, butter cake and hot chocolate are our utter favourites.

for all the people traveling to mussoorie, we recommend them to visit the place for a feel of going back in time and have a feel of what it looks like to be in a small british town!

the cozies and the most rustic vibes that a café can offer, this place has it all!

the ambience is top notch and is a hidden gem in the top hills of mussoorie. this is where one can take their loved ones for a perfect date and have the time of your lives sipping hot chocolate while viewing done the window panes over the valley.
we ordered a carrot cake, walnut chocolate brownie and hot chocolate. all of them were to die for although we found them to be overpriced.
cost for two- rs. 1000/-

landour’s own and the finest!

this cute little bakery has a british touch with wooden infrastructure, and owned by the famous rokeby manor.
they have all kinds of bakery items to hog on; and alsolandoursouvenirs to take home like t-shirts, mugs, books by mussoorie local authors! the t-shirt has the quote ‘life’s better in landour’ at just rs. 500 which is decent!

i bought home their cheese bread which is just cheese and garlic on the surface, and not stuffed. milti grain was pretty good too. they have cookie flavours like magic, oatmeal, peanut butter choco chip etc which are sold in portions of 4.
other items include: oreo cupcakes (5/5), croissant (4/5), coffee strudel (2.5/5), eclair, cakes etc.

one thing that has all my heart is the brownie that they make. truly, something to go back for, everytime.

we come and stay inlandourevery year where the bake house is located. brilliant ambience, five star bakery, outstanding hospitality is how i would sum up the experience each time. the rose almond cake and the blondes are to die for. you can conveniently skip the rest of the places inlandourin preference to the bakehouse and emilys. of course for those on a maggi and momo tripshould look for other places.

if you ever want to experience time travel, this is a place to visit. as soon as you reachlandourbakehouse you feel that somehow you have been transported to the colonial era. the quaint neighborhood, victorian structures and cobbled streets remind of an era gone by. the enchantment not only continues, rather swells, on entering the bakery. european glass window that looks down into conifer woods, lighted candles with mysterious biblical scriptures and the neo classical furniture will transcend you from your modern life beliefs. the menu of place - scones, madeleines, cinnamon roles, marmalade tea cakes - reads like the contents of an enid blyton picnic basket. the experience is truly magical and for dreams thereafter....

if u ever visit mussorie, this place should be marked as a must visit place of your itinerary. we reached there around 3 pm and it was jam packed. as soon as you enter, the delicacies displayed can make your mouth water..and your mind confused as what to eat. if you are lucky enough, unlike us, you can even get a table near the windows and enjoy the view while eating..a pleasure both to your mind as well as taste buds.
we ordered carrot cake and rose almond cake. both were simply yumm. the warmth and taste of the latter is something we are never ever going to forget.
in fact, one of the main reasons that we would ever visit mussorie again would be to visitlandourbakehouse and have rose almond cake and we will make sure to bring back some of it with us too.
thanks for making our day even more fun.

once you walk into this cafe, you transport into those english times.the cafe has breathtaking views while you sip your tea with some nice cinnamon rolls.also tried some battenburg cake, english madeleine, and dark chocolate cookies..all were good.must visit! away from the usual rushy places where you can cherish the simple pleasures of life. it was not in the list to visit, but while exploring lal tibba, we came across it incidentally. i must say that, the mussorie trip will be incomplete without having a calm and scrumptious english style breakfast here. #thankyoulandourbakehouse.
