pluses:
1. ambience: the hotel building is majestic and looks like a palace. the le uppu restaurant is spacious with both indoor and outdoor seating. we opted for the covered outdoor seating which was good. it was right next to a mini water fall and a fountain. excellent ambience. they have a carrom board , they also play live music.
2. service: excellent, from the time we entered were taken care of. there were always asking if we needed anything. perfect. no complaints
3 food: we went for the lunch buffet on a sunday
a) mexican chicken soup: excellent spicy and flavourful, salads : mix ofvegand nonvegsalads: good, breads: good
b)starters: tandoori fish: excellent, chicken skewer: spicy good, tandoori prawn: live counter: good
c)main course: mutton biriyani: excellent, mutton gravy: very good, chicken gravy: good, noodles: good, chinese gravy: good, daal, potato gravy: good. overall main course was good
d)live counters: dosa, pasta , pizza, appam and stew : good
d) soft drinks, fresh lime soda, lassi, thandai: good
minuses:
1. desserts: disappointing: gajar ka halwa : bad, mud chocolate cake: good, choice of ice creams, mango pastry(disappointing), honey dry fruit brownie (good), creme brulee (very good) , fruits, kiwi mousse: all the desserts were extremely sweet. wish they had some more indian dessert options. some of the dessert options didn't seem fresh, especially the mango pastry.
2. price: rs 1250 per person (all inclusive).: i am putting this as a negative because i was very disappointed with the dessert section which i usually look forward to in a buffet. else for a 5 star restaurant this price is decent.
final verdict: perfect place to spend for a lazy sunday brunch. wish they updated their dessert menu
