we have been to kunga twice in one week, early this year. its asmalleating joint with hardly 20-22 seating capacity. so on weekends and days where there are more tourists in darjeeling, expect long queue if you are planning for lunch. plan accordingly. kunga dont take orders for parcel as well as there is no booking system as such. its first come first serve basis and hence sometimes there can be some chaos in waiting lines as well.
coming to food, on the first day we tried chicken cheese steam momo and mixed fried rice with vegetables. on the second day, we tried fried pork momo and mixed wai wai soup. honestly we were sort of disappointed with our food on the first day, especially imho, we have had better momos in many places. however, fried pork momo and wai wai soup were good. we missed one iconic dish which we have seen many people ordering that is - noodles.
finally one suggestion for kunga management as well as all tourists visiting there. the momo sauce may taste a little sour. we just added a little ketchup with the momo sauce and it tasted awesome. you should try that out 👍🏼
