dined at thisrestaurantfor the first time last night. ordered the set #2 for 4 of us~ the food came very quickly, and were all beautifully plated. each dish had the perfect flavour and texture. all up $36 per person, i say it's worth it 😉

reuniting with a friend after 6.5 years, we decided to enjoy our rare time together by indulging over thai food.

kinn thai is situated in the 'fancier' area of garden city (where all the decorative lighting and comfy beach chairs are). we came by the restaurant around 6:30-7pm and it was bustling with people. staffs going in and out with food and customers raising hands to order. the queue of people waiting for tables just kept growing. lucky for us, we were able to grab the last two seats in the bar area. 

greeted by the staff and provided with menus - we begin looking at what's on offer. my friend decided on the thai lamb shank and for myself (considering i've been eating the whole day) i was feeling something lighter, so i went with the papaya salad with soft shell crab :)

the food arrived quicker than we expected (both dishes came together). the thai lamb with roti was nice. sauce was flavorful and the lamb was soft. unfortunately, the dish wasn't really hot, only served warm. for the papaya salad, i found it rather sour (i'm not sure if it's supposed to taste that way). based on my previous experience in another thai restaurant, the sourness was only very minimal. on the pros side though, the portion was good and the soft shell crab consisted a decent amount of meat which i really enjoyed. 

our table water was constantly topped up, which i really appreciated. however, there were several times where a staff member came up to us asking whether she could collect our plates when we had already told her  'we haven't finished yet'. that was a bit of a downside for me.

despite that, it's a lovely restaurant. inside and outside seating areas available.

when it comes to thai food i know authentic after going to thailand and living with the locals for a few months in the village.

this thairestaurantis very authentic! i had the (yum won sen) grass noddle salad with seafood (thai pet)in english that means thai style spicy 🌶

we had a vegetarian dish to and it was also beautiful i don’t know how to say in english but in thai (fuk mou) it was little sweet but taste amazing very famous in thailand in khon kaen provence!

favourite thairestaurantin brisbane by a country mile. make a booking as it's usually pretty full. soft shell crab is very good. possibly the signature dish here i suppose. betel leaves highly reccommended. hard to go past the salads.

we visit our favourite southside thairestaurantfor lunch today. there seems to be fewer waitresses attending to tables compared to last year. waitresses are in a rush to take our order and are seen to be dashing around from table to table.

our pina colada and lychee lychee drinks are promptly served followed by our lunch order of soft shelled crab papaya salad, crab rolls, lamb shank and pad see ew. we enjoy every dish and rate the food 4.5/5.0

kinn thai westfield garden city is a very popularrestaurant- packed within an hour of its opening on a saturday night! and for good reason - this bustlingrestaurantprovides efficient, timely and friendly service; as well as impeccable food. we ordered around 16 dishes and all were very well cooked, presented nicely and had amazing flavours. definitely worth the price. the 7 drinks we ordered were also well made, the virgin piña colada in particular was delicious! highly recommend kinn thai for those who have not tried it!! but i would advise booking a table in advance.

this is my go-to thai place. everything is delicious. the ice cream and iced thai milk tea are so good. the only downside is the price, but it is understandable that the costs of running such a bigrestaurantwith such number of staff and a big menu are inevitably high. i would say that it's worth what you pay for!

this was my favouriterestaurantuntil today. we found a piece of softshell crab with gills! gills made crabs taste disgusting. when we quiried it, according to the chef, they never cut gills off all their softshell crabs. this is how they serve all their softshell crabs. i have never heard of anyrestaurantserve softshell crabs with gills on. its sad to see how their service dropped the ball now they are busy.

kinn’s food is always fresh and delicious. the service is good. while they accept bookings for large groups, i find therestaurantis too loud to really converse effectively. cocktails are ok but nothing special and are quite expensive.

beautifully decoratedrestaurantwith little touches of thai cultural statues. very intimate setting where you can have a nice meal out.

the waitresses and waiters were readily available if you needed anything.
heaters outside as it was quite chilly.
the menu had alot of variety.

i ordered the spicy noodle with beef dish. ive had this dish many times with fond memories- made by friends, made by family, made by a boss lady in the organised chaotic city of bangkok, thailand.

unfortunately, this dish didnt take me anywhere. admittedly, it took me to disappointment city and a stop over at regretsville.
the flavours were too overwhelming and didnt give the slices of beef justice. there was too much sauce that was too sweet. disappointingly the traditional and well balanced thai combination of sour, sweet, salty and chilli flavour was lost.
i ended up skipping on dessert as i already had my sugar hit.
would i go again? yes. however, i wouldn't be a regular. it reminded me of chinese food being too westernised and confusing the heck out of my tastebuds.
authenticity is key. and authentic thai at its finest, is unbeatable and never disappointing.

food was great but the customer service was extremely disgusting. my friend and i waited at the front of therestaurantfor a table. the staff did not acknowledge us and were enjoying their conversations when there were plenty of empty tables at the back of the restaurant. when we wanted to order, numerous staff saw our "waves" but decided to walk pass us and ignore. i have noticed this thairestaurantis extremely welcoming to white/caucasian customers but super rude to asian customer. not going to visit again. over priced for the awful service we have received.

one of my favourite thairestaurantin brisbane. delicious food with speedy service. reasonable price costed under $100 for four. downside do not accept amex, upside offers 5% off for cash payments.

i have had many meals at thisrestaurantand have never been disappointed. always busy so a lot of other people agree with me. service good. venue good. price point excellent. flavours are definitely to my liking. would recommend.

the food is delicious. love the variety of menu, unlike typical boring thairestaurantmenu we usually find in brisbane. service is average.
