kensington pub

very cool old neighborhood pub. the food andservicehave always been good.the atmosphere is that of an old english style pub. because of it's excellent location we always find it a great place to stop and take a break  i recommend the root top patio . fries are really good.

not one of the cheaper pub options in kensington, but certainly among the most reliable. good atmosphere day or night,serviceis always good and staff are friendly, and the food is always well prepared and plentiful. always steady- so they don't offer any drink or food specials. family-run joint with unpretentious staff. i and up here a lot- it's like a magnet.

expected more. went to kensington pub the other night with a bunch of friends to grab a bite to eat. i had the burger and sweet potato fries. it was nothing special. thin patty and boring toppings. the sweet potato fries were soggy. my friends weren't all that excited about their food either. theservicewas non existant. my beer glass remained empty for most of the night. there are a lot of other great places in calgary and i won't spend my money or time at this one again.

this pub rocks. we went for a late dinner after a long day of travel and had low expectations. i ordered the flatbread with balsamic, tomatoes, goat cheese, and arugula... absolutely one of the best meals i have ever eaten! my husband had the hot wings and asked for the hottest sauce... he said it was incredibly mild by his taste. i tried it and it has a distinct sweetness along with the heat.servicewas great and i love the small pub feel. great place.

nothing special. went on a sunday, had pub burger. the patty was thin and small and black. basically burnt. i got a beer, a keiths, the glass was not cold so my beer was not cold eitherl, i am not a fusssy person and i was really hungry so i ate it. the fries were ok. theservicewas nonexistent. this place was nothing specail. i don't care if i go back. many better places to eat in calgary.

decent but not great. i thought that the cod and chips was okay. the fries are different but not bad and the fish was reasonably battered. my wifes clubhouse was not even warm. theserviceand atmosphere was good but a pub needs good food.

i love this pub, probably one of my favourite pubs in calgary. theserviceis always great and the atmosphere puts it up there in the best... at least in my books. food is good too!

recently moved from toronto. my husband and i recently moved to calgary we are close to the kensington business area. we tried a few other places in the area and frankly were not impressed. the kensington pub is kind of hidden around the corner, we are certainly happy we found it. we have been in about six times and it has been very good. great pub food is the main reason we go theserviceis usually excellent and the girls are friendly, although at times the girls are chatting around the till and don't get to my husbands empty pint quick enough and he has to flag them down. over all this is our favourite by far even better than the pub it to we used to frequent.

kensington pub has a great homey feel to it. i'm from edmonton, but the atmosphere of this pub made me feel like i was back home. theservicewas great, and the nose level was too, especially for eating out later (we dined at 8pm).
i chose the veggie wrap, which was good because of the fresh tomatoes and cucumbers, plus the addition of artichokes. it could have been better if the cheese was hand-shredded and not the pre-packaged, pre-shredded variety.

one of my favorites.... as far as pubs go, this is one of only 3 that i go to regularly, because it's that charming, cozy neighborhood pub that calgary lacks. it's a great atmosphere perfectly located in a nice little neighborhood, and the area is devoid of the loud harley's and general "douche-y" people that plague 17th ave. i will knock this place for one thing though ... the food. not that great, imo. the quality is definitely not worth the price, and the prices here seem really high for pub food. i try to come here for drinks only, which is fine by me.serviceis also excellent, the long-time waitress always gets me my favorite drink (great memory ... served me only a few times before !), and she treats me & my companion as if we're part of the cheers set. she always makes us feel like everybody knows our name !

its a great place!! try out the beef dip, it really hit the spot. awesomeservicewith a frendly environment.
